Your Grieving Heart

Your Grieving Heart

When you first meet your grief
Do not expect to feel any relief,
It is a wild animal that devours
Your heart and soul for endless hours.

Do not attempt to stay the beast,
But let it enjoy it's evil feast,
While you feel it's teeth that tear
At your heart for the love you bear.

Never give in to the urge to die,
To hurt the one for whom you cry,
For death does not stop its bite,
It has no thoughts of wrong or right.

Don't try to evade or keep it inside,
Scream,shout,but you can not hide,
But talk to Jesus,he's by your side;
Let Him hold you as you confide.

For reasons mortals can not know,
A loved one sometimes must go,
While we spend our time below
Learning to reap just what we sow.

But eternity awaits with endless love,
When your number is called above,
So know our time is a flash in a fire,
But belief in his word fills every desire.

Is This How You Feel

Is This How You Feel

Your life has been totally turned around,
Hope and sanity are not to be found,
The world has turned you upside down
And your best smile is a heavy frown.

Your heart has been turned inside out,
All that mattered is now covered in doubt,
For life's meaning has been hidden away,
Your very essence is what's gone to stay.

Now you may stop and ask what can I do,
For life has no meaning,it's torn in two,
Then a still small voice says to look about,
There are still small children with no way out.

That voice is saying your love can still grow,
If you step back from yourself you will know,
That to help any child to find his own way
Is the path that will lead you home some day.

So believe this now, that someone above
Is showering your child in unending love,
So why can't you invest your love in a child,
To see the wondrous face of one beguiled.

Rules For Grieving

Rules For Grieving

There are no rules for grieving,
For it's a fight against believing
In God and in yourself also,
Sapping your will,it won't let go.

It is a fight for heart and soul,
To take back what Satan stole,
For he will confuse with no shame;
Placing guilt is part of his game.

Like a virus in a computer,
You can isolate but not neuter,
So you must now learn to ignore
The voice of grief's waging war.

Grief must be moved far to one side
For you can't kill it but only hide,
It's a bronco to be tamed and tied;
Never ridden but always denied.

I have felt the tears God has shed
For His loving Son as He bled,
But these tears are also for you,
As is His hand to help you through.

Forget Me Never

Forget Me Never

No,you will not miss me forever
And you will forget me never,
For we will unite on Heaven's shore,
Where we will know parting no more.

So be at peace all you poor souls
For it is written on ancient scrolls,
Eternal life is from the great I AM,
For those who follow His holy Lamb.

The world has forgotten the crime,
Trapped in Satan's web of time,
Where sorrow is his fiery whip
And all are aboard a burning ship.

Believe in Him and His holy Word,
Not the lies you've surely heard,
For as souls depart and reunite,
A new star in Heaven will ignite.

There Is A Rainbow

I know there is a rainbow for me to follow, to get beyond my sorrow. Thunder precedes the sunlight, so I'll be all right if I can find that rainbow's end. - Mariah Carey, "Rainbow"
(Inspired by the above)

There Is A Rainbow

I know there is a rainbow to follow
To find and get beyond my sorrow,
For to grieve long is to wallow
Without a brighter day tomorrow.

As thunder precedes the sunlight,
Finding the end of that rainbow,
Will let me be again alright
To reap what the Lord would sow.

As the sun journeys into night,
In dreams I meet my loved one,
And as we embrace so tight,
I whisper,"when my day is done".

It is there far beyond the sun
Where His promises are kept,
For following the Father's Son,
Will awaken those who slept.

Contained ~ Kickit’s Challenge

A thousand steps,
walking a crooked fence,
full of barbs,
wires, and hacked limbs.

No Title

There's a mist upon my sight
Clouds the daylight and the night
Like the passing of a life , without you;
Days are speeding moving on
Dreams are wishes built upon
And all i have is ever gone, without you;
And all i am i am
And all i be is me
Yet all i am i am for you
And this will always be;
There's a mist upon my sight
Clouds the daylight and the night
Like the passing of a life, without you..............

a borrowed angel

GOD sent us an angel on loan
To love and have as our very own
But sadly he could not stay
... For the Lord called him away
Up on pure wings of light he soared
up until we see him no more
The angels keep him in wait
Until we join him at a later date
For all of us are angels fallin
We wait for our Lord to come callin
For now we enjoy borrowed time
UNtil it is our chance to fly and be sublime

The Statue ( Cemetery by the Ga Univ. Stadium )

THE STATUE
I got a glimpse of a statue off in the distance,
Gave me a sense of remorse and love unfulfilled,
It was something in her stance,
That made you look deep into her eyes so stilled.

So much so, that I stopped and turned,
For within that moment I yearned,
Another glimpse of this form,
That had my mind so curiously torn.

What had happened to this young woman?
Why the look of sadness and despair?
And then when I walked around the headstone.
I could see why she was carefully placed there.

She was only seventeen,
And died many, many years ago,
And as I read the plack I could understand the scheme,
Of the artists purpose to design her completely so.

She was engaged to marry the man of her dreams.
And before he returned from war,
It was not the future as it seems
For news of his death left her heart so torn.
Her death was quick for she became sick and lovelorn.

There are those who can repair.
A love so lost and gone.
But her statue gave an aire.
Of the love she desperately longed.

For some can go on living.
And place their love within a box.
A box that has no love for giving.
And live a life to never find the lock.

So in her eyes you feel the sense of mourning.
That can not be undone.
For she carried a love so pure and adoring,
to another world we find above.

About this poem:
I pulled out this picture of a beautiful young woman who was made from her picture as a statue after her death in the early 1900's. The sculptor made her taller than her real life but she was beautiful, and you had to go behind a huge marble wall to walk up to her ... it was unusual but get photography..so I pulled out this picture of her and wrote an imaginary poem.

tunnel of light

In the darkness of my dreams i see the light
That shines so bright
A tunnel so white
My heart races

I glare at the light
On the edge my feet motionless
Should I stay or should I go
Laughter I hear

Relatives call
Come my son
My mother calls
Come through the light join

Me today
Your nanny here
And grandad too
Your brothers too

Come my son enter the light
I call out
I want too mother
But not just yet
Father sister and brother need me a bit longer

I will join you when my time is through
Love you all mother dear give my love to nany and grandad
Am all ways here
