The Vista of Death

The vista of death hovers ever near
the woman's face awash with tears
as his last words she leans over to hear
the pain of his passing through her sears

Lost in her pain nothing else registers
life slowly passes on by as she grieves
emotions in deep freeze nothing stirs
from this there will not be any reprieves

This pass should never have been
a child never should be laid first
she shivers, moans touching skin
as into the coffin he goes feet first

The bullet has ended a young soul
so senseless and wasteful a death
has left her totally without console
full of heart ache and shortened breath

Her family try whilst also grief struck
to help ease her pain and her suffering
as to the grave she walks now unstuck
with life she is done, its all far too tiring

Tears in a Smile

She gave me a smile filled with tears
She asked I kept it a secret for her
I hoped I could soothe her despairs
So I questioned her a little farther
In the voice of a child she spoke
The smile filled with tears kept her centred
She said, "This morning I woke.
From the sleep that for years I had entered."

"I closed my eyes twelve years ago, you see
Wide awake without even a dream of my own
I sent my dreams downstream in a canope
Just to be used and left all alone."
She sighed the sighed of lost hope
Patted my hand that held her smile filled with tears
And whispered, "My child I just can't cope
Too much hatred, dashed dreams and fears."

As she walked away I was left with a smile
No longer filled with tears but lost
I thought she was not even hostile
And I wanted to help at all cost
So off I went to find her once more
I walked to the corner where she had turned
I followed my aim to reassure
But I was forbidden with a smile that burned.

what goes around...........

listen with your ears
look with your eyes
but at the end of the day
it's feeling what you may
that has no disguise

deceit and lies lay together
in the devils bed
how do you vent
when the truth is bent
from words that one said

hollow are the thoughts
when time does reveal
the clarity of my vision
hidden by your decision
and the honesty that you steal

no wager will i place
nor even entertain
for to do so
would only grow
the roots of my pain

i see you as you are
crystal clear i might add
i need not convince
nor convey since
any thoughts that are bad

like a fruit going rotten
upon a tree glad
never to ripen wholey
or enjoyed solely
will finally drop.......sad.

On A Not So Sunny Day

On a bright hot lonely day in an elementary school a couple blocks away the weatherman called for a forecast of early graves
In classroom full of kids whose only job was to be well behaved who’d thought there was a monster on the way
See something in his mind snapped and he’d gone insane pulled a gun on his mother in a fit of rage
I can only imagine the look on her face as she closed her eyes and she prayed before the gunshot that took her life away
Now he’s on a mission to show the world his pain packed a bag full of guns for the start of the school day
A 1st grade teacher with blood on his face stumbled out into the hallway to give the kids a chance to run away
A small school laid to waste the bodies of our future littered the place a young man with a heart filled with hate saved one last bullet so he could escape.

Magic potion...

An old house with lots of history, stained glass and fireplace
Wooden floors, pressed ceilings, bay windows and a lot of space
This charming home was never mine the others were lost too
It’s never long enough to put down roots before I need to move

A slender dog with big brown loving eyes, my grey Jinxy cat
My Coco and Nicademus, gone! Isn’t it funny that?
I can never keep them long enough to show how much I care
I’ve missed these lovely creatures, It’s hardly even fair

My two children, boy and girl, my two bright shining stars
I couldn’t keep you in my house; I will always bare the scars
I wanted your true happiness more than life itself
I left you with my relatives for your stability and health

My friends and my ex-lovers, you meant so much to me
If it didn’t work out, then I guess; it was not meant to be
I’ve hurt to leave each one of you, It’s hard to just move on
Disappointments are inevitable, you just weren’t the one

For all the things I’ve lost in life and all the things I’ll lose
They are only borrowed to me for a time, even when I choose
To keep something forever, or fall in love again
I’ll savor every moment, ‘cause I just don’t know when;
It could all fall apart, or be snatched away from me
The only constant thing is change, time is only motion,
To keep true love and happiness; there is no magic potion!

About this poem:
All that I have is not truly mine... We all live on borrowed time!
Feeling the struggles of life and the pain of loss. For those that have loved and lost too, my heart goes out to you.

Letting go

The pain of letting go

yes it hurts very much so

Losing a love that you thought

was true changes your point of view.

Yet, people come and go in our life

for a temporary moment to feed us that

which what we need even in strife.

Like shadows within the night

love flickers within the candle lite

As the new day dawns the feeling of cold sets in

as we must let go of the embrace.

Yet the memory can never be erased.

Suddenly the dream is over

the harsh reality sets in of our loss over the love

we thought was real.

As sometimes quickly rushing in like a wave

so it ebbs away just the same.

All we are left with is the pain and wonder what went wrong

as we ponder listening to a sad song.

Letting go hurts but is all we can do

for one cannot grow within the tree of life

sitting in one place crying and wondering what

what to do.

Yes often times the only friends we really have is regret

and loneliness. They will always be our constant companions

they will never leave us nor forsake us.

People come and go, good and bad they are our teachers their value is

measured by how well we learned our lesson.

Not much reason to be sad for let us be glad in a good season.

Let go all you fear to lose when faced with a time to choose between

what is important to save and what you must let loose.

Thinking of You

Dishes Piled in the sink
Pausing,
I stop and think
Of the times we laughed
and played our games.
To think, now
Those memories
only bring pain
Of the time you left me
On that Cold, October day
There you swept
my heart away.
I try to forget
and focus on dishes
But then my mind wanders
to you and your wishes.
A wish for more time,
A wish for no pain.
Thinking of this
Tears fall now as rain.
God,
How I wish I could have you back
I think of this
as the dishes just stack.
I know you're not suffering
and you're in no more pain
I'm longing for the day
I can hold you again!
I decide to go
and lie in my room.
The dishes can wait.
I'm thinking of you

Rich Man's Lament

All my life I’ve worked so hard
To try and make more money
Most of my time I’ve spent at work
None left for socialising

The harder I worked, the less I had
The cost of living rising
House I bought, much too grand
The mortgage nearly killed me

Furnishings had to be the best
Most cost a King’s ransom
Persian rugs upon the floor
And on the walls hung Masters

In the garage cars I had
A Ferrari, Porsche and Jaguar
There they sat, alone, unused
For I had no time to drive them

Lonely house and lonely rooms
And a bed I was lost in
No-one here to share with me
This journey through a lifetime

Too late I see as I near the end
How sad was my existence
I was not living life
Just barely stumbling through it

If I had this time again
I’d add up my riches different
Possessions in the end mean naught
Count love that’s all around you

Pain and Fear

Do not worry of pain you have not suffered, be of mournful mind for those who have suffered that which you have not, as they are the lesson that should have been learned, If a time does come no need for worry, as it is not the pain of flesh but that of soul and what is left undone

My Dearest Son.

My dearest Son,
Even though I may not bare child again.
Do not grieve for the loss of Thy Brother.
He sings and plays with Angels,
On white feathered wings.
Whilst silver gray tears platter Thy cheeks,
You have this world to play with, "he says".

You will grow and make new Brothers,
In your holdings.
You shall, be ful-filled.
You will travell safely on your life journey.
Till you two meet again,
At your cross roads end.
I say.
