well long lost love its been eight years since we last said I love you. I should have just jumped off a building, it would have been a lot cleaner and less painful. I know your remarried, the smile on your face and look in your eyes are the same ones I used to receive. I can only pray that I receive someone I can love and give everything I took away from you that day. I know I made the choice, I just wish you would have made me talk to you. I only wanted to make you happy for the rest of your life. Looks like I succeeded only the jokes on me. As I write this and the tears become oceans at my feet, I can only hope you'll eventually forgive me. Forgiveness is the only cure I know of that may take this pain away. I know I've got VIP treatment waiting for me in heaven, because since you left it's been a burning hell. Every new day adds fuel to the fire and my heart breaks all over again. So as the sun comes up and I watch people awake and stir around. I'm reminded that the pain is starting all over again and will only hurt worst as the day burns off. You should be right here next to me while I soak in your beauty. I can only picture your husband doing the thing I used to. Yep the jokes on me, I can hear the jester's laughter, as he entertains himself with my pain.

can still recall the moment
I saw it coming from her eyes
an all too clear reminder
I could be taken by surprise
so I merely closed my eyelids
turned my back to block a view
I felt that I must walk away
better that than be subdued
a lifetime spent in paradise
was just a glance away
yet I kept my eyes tight shut
and far away I stayed
could illusion carry me?
all the lying to myself
is my act avoiding her...
just an act of selfish stealth?
could I be just a hypocrite?
in a bed that I had made
or am I only of reason?
a man who's just afraid
though she is all I've ever wanted
with indifference shall I don
with my collar up, ignoring her
quite soon enough, she'll just be gone
so I went upon my way
without her in my life
little did I have to say
just another day of strife
but still sometimes I wonder
with lonely gaze into the sky
what really may have happened
.....had she but seen into my eyes

Lost love is like a prize fight,
you counter the blows, ducked and dived,
you give it all you got and use your might,
between the rounds someone has lied,

You know this bout is your last chance,
dancing around the ring trying to find the opening,
your heart beats fast trying to re-kindle the romance,
breathing heavy and your mind hoping,

On the ropes dodging glancing blows,
whispered words shouted in your ears,
they have declared that your a loser, everyone knows,
hit below the belt and crazy with tears,

The final bell and your last shout,
you try to hold on clinching your ex-lover,
seconds tick down and on points you lose the bout,
your eyes are swelled, your body broke and finally know its all over,

You sit in your corner legs bent,
you gave it all, you gave your best,
no more love, even when marriage was given consent,
time to draw breath, you have no more fight, withdraw from all, give it a rest.

I lost my way, but so have you, we need for us to be?,
Cant we find a way to get along, I really need you to see,?
This has hurt both of us, I can see where we were wrong, ?
If you would just give it one more chance, our love would be just as strong,?

Reflections of my time with you,
re-winding my memory cells to playback the hours,
we did so much and yet so little too,
some scenes are reminiscent of Fawlty Towers,

Those barriers we placed upon ourselves,
from past relationships that had hurt us both,
made our time together somewhat shelved,
each looking for one anothers faults without any real hope,

I can see clearly now where I went wrong,
verbal communication was not your strength,
I wanted so much for you to belong,
at times silences were too much length,

I tried to give you space and let yourself be free,
you lacked the words to explain your thoughts,
at times your eyes told me just how much you wanted to be with me,
how much I longed to have learned your language and been taught,

When we held each other it was plain to see,
our touches and caresses made each other shiver,
our eyes could not lie to one another, it was love for you and me,
but fire and passion alone are not to be, we had other things to consider,

Now your gone and mind made up, blocked and out of sight,
so my reflections of time with you was not well spent,
you befriended ex to possibly review, but her words would be full of spite,
no matter what you think my words of love for you, were always meant,
