Saving Grace

From the words,
Let there be light...
Creativity began
And was supposed to continue with
Adam, the very first man.
But desire and greed reared
Their slithering heads
And made the first humans
Want to be like God instead.
So upon that first bite
Of the forbidden fruit
Sin and death on earth began
And fear, disease, sadness and hate filled the land
Enmity between the woman and her seed was sown
The flag of battle was flown
Thousands have since lived, loved, fought and died
But one Man came
And for us was crucified
His name Christ Jesus
Lovingly, He shed His life
For us
To redeem and to save
His own blood He gave
Now won't it be unjust if our love and hearts
We won't give...
Take time to think,
Spread peace and love
All around
Let our hearts and lives
Reflect humility
While we walk this earthly ground.

The Old Ways

Sometimes I get to missing the old ways the old days
I just can't find the words to explain when in peoples hearts there was a flame
And it became a guiding light and everything felt so right

And I can't explain how oil flowed from the word of God
And how it covered my soul I knew everywhere my feet would trod
My life was always bound in the old ways

How do you get across a cross that's in your heart
How do you talk of oil need I say anymore
I get to missing the old ways so I found a place to hang my hat beside the door

Regarding True Identity.

I am the web that weaves strands spun with silk smooth to the touch. I am the moon sister howling to the stars above in the sky bright light shining universe the space in between.

I am the day and of the night, for I am the sun and the earth a starving woman and I am a whaling child. I am the sound which can break the silence calling out and hearing the echo of the wind and rain. I am dirt and fire essence is eternal to be only void of all.

I am whole to the concept of having many splinters that have dug so deeply from the wounds of many. I am one who don’t bend to anyone who has shown me any dis respect, I am but yet a human being who’s feelings can be hurt, I am one with a broken heart, I am one who has seen and tasted great fears and joy of love in life.

I am but yet a reality standing in front of you ready to face the challenges in life the journey. I am the coin both different on the sides but smooth the touch.

I am balance of the scales never one side to out weight the other heart against the feather facing the truth of justice holding the sword against me asking me how do you come to me?

With this I answer I have no fear, I show no boundaries, I have no lost or no gain, I am that of a leaf falling from the tree touching the ground in silence, I am the clouds above floating moving and changing shapes.

I am the trust of one self-image, I am in the beauty of the beholder, I am the eyes which look and see beyond, I am the mirror looking back, and for I am Regarding true identity.

If Only

If only God would clearly tell us
exactly what to say and do
I’d wake up smiling each morning
reading instructions, following through.

Life, however, is more complex.
God’s words translated though the ages
leave one to thoughtfully ponder,
Read words from which book of pages?

A student of the Bible
from Methodist heritage days
King James Version was preferred choice
shaped my mind and set my ways.

Thus, I take the commandments
the ten from which I was taught
and try to fit them into my life
by lessons life has wrought.

One professes belief in God
yet from self love does not ensue
while another filled with doubt
lives according to the Golden Rule.

Which life would make it into heaven?
Which life would be condemned to hell?
With what existence does each leave us?
Seek answers or wait for God to tell?

Walking the Universe

Space the aftermath, being final of what was and what is the infinite. Life born into particles matters stream floating around the universe coiling though the faces of energy.

Future of the elements superimposed riding the planes into the void of darkness which becomes light then there was hush of silence that fall upon the ground.

Solar flares arch across the sky with stars twinkling transmission voyages into dreams going into the mind eyes.

I AM

I am the sun and moon.
I am the air and sea.
I am the glory of God,
and the decadence of Satan.
I am the power of the universe,
and the fragility of life.
I am the flesh that gives form,
and the thought that gives substance.
I am the beauty of love eternal,
and the filth of hatred everlasting.
I am the divinity of birth,
and the repugnance of death.
I am the embodiment of pleasure,
and the exquisiteness of pain.
I am all that has been,
and all that will ever be.
I am deity
I am humanity
I am.

Glory of The CROSS

For the glow of the CROSS
comes through for all to
see that is the way to
S A L V A T I O N .
That is the way to JESUS
today and always.
For when we are saved the
BLOOD washes over
us and makes us
WHITE AS SNOW.
For the HOLY SPIRIT is with
us then and always.
For JESUS knows our thoughts
and mind before we say it as
we are one of a kind.
JESUS is yours and mine for
ETERNITY.

Turn My Back

I stand on the highest mountain
And look down at the world around me
Insects, they seem, running about
Lusting and chasing each other sinfully
Oh how I use to be a mortal and dwell
On too many things out of my reach
Forever believing that there was a God
Because that's what the scholars would teach
Now understand, I had done my deeds
The expectations of a righteous man
But now everything is taken, everything is gone
Oh Lord, I do not understand
Was it because you were envious
Of a man that had a heart that was so pure
Unleashing upon me, Your great wrath
Knowing that I did not have the cure
Chastise me, once again
For today my heart has become black
And on the highest mountain, today I stand
And on God, I turn my back

About this poem:
not too many people will like this poem but it's my constant struggle to understand why God wants to punish those who are good and has a pure heart, put them through Hell....killing children when it's in his power to stop any and everything....Why even put that tree in the Garden of Eden? He is all knowing so obviously he knew what the consequences would be...just my opinions though

300th poem "Mine to Blame"

Those careless days as selfishness reveals
Where once all love was missing from my heart
Least solace for my fellow mans' ideals
Whose wealth only serves to set us apart

Be gentle still while my compassion swirls
Wonderful thoughts fancied soon fleeting gone
My Master would make strings of perfect pearls
As I would have no luck to happen on

Ah me, I stumble on paths well trodden
Discarded shells glitter in my wet hands
In my pockets full of weeds well sodden
Piled up on an oceans' broken sands

Like searching into a soul I would tame
If for only my life was mine to blame

About this poem:
I am deeply reflective with self awareness on this most festive day of Thanksgiving...like my Puritan fathers before me....is my fate upon the shores of new and wild land.
