just a couple of phrases

We cannot convert stones into gold
but we can convert hate into love.
We cannot convert the moon into the sun
but we can on simplicity to magic.

Prayer

Time is running out
Experiencing shipwrecked hope
Prayer is all you need

Eudaimonia

Embedded image from another site

"'Eudaimonia'"

Crawling through my own collective
Overcoming lachrymosity
Changing my depths perception
A denial of Your effect on me
Beneath a glowing silver moon light
Swallowed thy caliginosity
Inhaling a redolent velvet sunrise
Of my sweetened insanity
Sardonically feeding the monster
Quietly I smile and just pretend
My enemies I will conquer
And destroy them in their halidoms
Then I'll climb the rainbow ladder
Catching raindrops of deflating dreams
Higher than any silver lining
I will lick all of my black clouds clean

hey you ! a Christmas thought :)

Well Christmas is a time of cheer,
when most share love and a bottle of beer,
a time to get closer to the family,
maybe even a hello to aunty emily.

but to most here on CS,
Christmas could be a time of stress,
for thinking thoughts of family past,
yet really having wanted it to last.

and in this shortish message,
i dare to undertake,
remember what we're celebrating,
Christianity ! the birth of a Babe.

not fancy presents, Santas on sleighs,
a shopping frenzy, and many delays.
pictures of pine trees covered in snow,
and fairy lights blinking, competing to show.

let it be simple and wonderfully pure,
like fresh fallen snowflakes, a picture, i'm sure.
open your hearts and banish hard thoughts.
it's Chrsitmas for God's sake,
give, share and be happy.
not just take, and take and take . . .

Happy Christmas everybody. God bless.

Dreams

Dreams

Dreams are just ubiquitous feelings
Whose direction really scatter
Hard to watch sometimes
When the truth will really flatter
Where courage never fails us
Causing trust to shatter
All the whilst the raindrops fall
Softly with a pitter patter
Even when voices are vague
Conversations just chitter chatter
Olympic feats and memorials
Only fitting for such a satyr
So dreams are only dreams
Even if they sometimes matter

Unknown

Of Birth, life, love and...........?

Life restless stirs within the womb a sanctuary of endless night.
This seed from love impatient for release yet waits unborn.
The mysteries this world are still unknown a journey to fulfil.
Not till embracing waters yield and cast towards the light.

With pain and joy unscathed emerges life begins anew.
Upon the breast is laid contentment overshadows fear.
Forgotten now the silent darkness fades, that did once so entomb.
With lips atremble suckles that flesh from whence he grew.

In summer meadows bathed with nature’s glory plays.
Childhood memories etched forever in young minds.
Friendships kindled as flames ignite youth’s eagerness.
Enriched knowledge gathered eagerly with fleeting days.

As childhood into manhood grows deep unknown yearnings beckon.
Love as yet its shameless thrill to be rewarded brings forth the man.
Enticed by sensuous pleasures emotions awake the heart takes flight.
With waves of ecstasy unleashed once a child all innocence now gone.

The year’s sweet memories fast leave behind as darkness calls again.
Towards the light now beckoning pause footsteps fear enhanced.
Unsure one’s life in vain had not this consciousness still hesitates.
Then enters he with faith enriched where creation’s sculptor reigns.

Heavens Next

Arose from the Dungeon with two swords
an I keep the shinin armor of tha lord
life is but a dream on
fightin with the Devil till tha mornin dawn
they believe im so gone
flowing like the SpiritRealm just too strong
right above tha mirror Gladiator Heart so long
all these others, bullets make one want to yawn
turnning off all these street lights one by one
They keep coming back like the lie off a tongue
Flex, yes I might b vexed rose from Hades now only Heavens next

Disgrutled Catholic

Being a Catholic
is more than looking the other way
when Father Jim is fondling his alter boys
Being a Catholic is more than giving your money
so the bishops can live in luxery and travel all the time
Being a Catholic is more than sitting in church
bored out of your mind and eating and drinking Jesus
like some cannibal like Jeffery Dahmer
Being Catholic is about traditions
evern if those traditions don't seem like
they do anything for anyone
Being Catholic is about forgiving the companies their greed
of paying workers under ten bucks an hour
so God can forgive you of your sin
of hoping the managers and owners get cancer
or burn in hell
or have a really bad life
Being a Catholic is about keeping the Pope rich
and the flock desperately poor and needy
Being Catholic is about loving your babies
enough to have every one
even if that means canceling your cable
so you can feed them ramen noodles
Being Catholic is all about love of your God
Jesus, and your worst enemies
Being Catholic is about knowing God loves you
but only will let you be forgiven
if and only if a prist hears your confessions
Amen

About this poem:
I went to a Catholic church from 1972-1987, 1994-1996, 1999-2001. Since I was adopted at 3, I remember my baptism, and remember crying my head off when they poured the water on my head.

The Beginning

There existed nothing and nothingness existed
Except He who was without beginning and end
He created the heavens and the earth
And He spoke the light into existence
Once spoken there was day and night
Waters above the earth and on the earth
Receding waters leaving land showing
Spoken were the words to bring forth plants
Plants in such amazing abundance
Flying, crawling, running, swimming beasts
All were by Him spoken into being
Only left was man to create, in His image
Into a garden in Eden he was placed
Created was woman, for them to be one
All this world to us was given
Given unto us, for us to care for it

When Shall my Sun Sets

Too many poems written in the past
Wondering just in case I wouldn’t last
Childhood visions of a short-lived life
Reminding me as it keeps coming back

Was it the turmoil of my yesteryears
Or the challenges I had to grin and bear
Stoically trained this heart, this mind to sway
Outside my box; champion those who cannot play?

I welcomed change and challenges with hands wide-open
No fear in loving and trusting someone I barely knew
Leaving my loved ones, my comfort zone behind
To cross the ditch more than half a score ago!

There was no other dream but see the world around.
Instead, I found me rather in this small rural town.
Stripped off everything my heart has grown to love
But my soul was nourished; He took away my frown!

The unknown messing-up my mind with doubts, with fear
Not knowing how many curve balls awaits me each year
Yet my journey's laid down; I know I must press on
Until my soul goes back to Him, finally my soul to heal!

I’ve seen ugly; I've seen beautiful; not much in between
I tried to lend a hand; the ripple's too small for change
Every tear from every eye I’ve seen, every broken-hearted ones
It comes from something else; from God would be strange!

And as each day pans out; my fears and pain go out of mind
An urge to keep another soul safe; respecting her tears
Encouraging, empowering; day and night until she knows
She’s not alone, her faith restored; she's without fears!

While all the times the weight I carry gets more heavy
Turning my soul weary as the day sucks away my energy
I plod along, as I retire each day another soul I know,
Understands, soothes my soul even on days dreary!

Instead of anger or bitterness, I will be grateful instead
When it’s my turn, though bittersweet; I’ll drink my cup and won’t forget
The beautiful sunrises and sunsets admired and seen across the globe
May mine be as warm, as beautiful when to the West my sun shall set!!!

About this poem:
Life's journey; fear does cripple us in many ways! Death is scary so is sickness and strife yet sometimes when we've done our very best...sometimes...the fear goes away...gratitude and acceptance take its place! Life can be likened to a beautiful day that starts with a glorious sunrise and an awe-inspiring sunset!

I haven't written for a long time; years I think. I have not been well many a few times this year and I believe that when one writes a poem for someone it really comes from their heart. I just wanted to express my gratitude to my husband who without fail has gone beyond my expectations each day I am not well. I feel blessed that I can come home at the end of a challenging day knowing that I have someone who understands what I am going through!
