Forgive them

Forgive them if they slight you
for the faith which you believe
forgive them if they know it all
and flatter to deceive
forgive them if they think that faith
is a mind of fantasy
forgive them for they seek to fill
all thats eternally empty
forgive them if they call you mad
their sanity has it's bounds
forgive them if they seek to shoot
with empty secular rounds
forgive them if they see their god
as a measure of material gain
forgive them if they start to laugh
and smirk to hide the pain
forgive them for it's death they fear
the dark besets the end
forgive them for they envy you
and still cant comprehend
forgive them as they're human
only so far they can see
the gateway to a mind at peace
and you have the key.

This Rock

Embedded image from another site

Breathe it in than beathe it out
What took me a life time just to figure out
That what I've been is not what I should be
And who I am takes me away from me

The current is moving fast and I'm moving slow
Holding onto the anchors that I should let go
But You cast a net and it draws me near
It seems the closer that I get I drift away in fear

The breaking water reflects what I've become
As you put the pieces back where I have come undone
But I will pull off my pride and swim to shore
Bring me back to the place that I was once before

Is this where I am for Your sake
Drowning from the ripples of my own wake
But Im coming in so please cover me
And On This Rock Lord please comfort me

Two Bells

I woke up this morning
Shot out of bed
Quickly to my knees I fell
I said
Lord do not leave me, Lord do not forsake me....
And I listened but from heaven nothing fell
No words of comfort came to my mind
Nothing, not even a sip of spiritual wine
You see I had just had this awful dream about truth and hell
And about the judgment bell
It played a damning toll
Calling my
Sinful soul
Made me wish that I could flee
But at the end I knew it tolled for me
Hark! was the whispered shout from the angel that sat on my bed
You need to get on bended knees
And ask
The good Lord to forgive you please.
And so I cried out to Him
The only One who can salvation bring
I said
Lord! Oh my Savior and King!
Please forgive me as to the Cross I cling
Holy Spirit stepped in and said to me
Why don't you give your friend a ring?
I dialed the numbers but still doubt said
Ha! He can't help you! And,anyway faith is dead!
My friend answered and when I'd said
What was on my mind,
For me with God he pled...
He sang a song at the end...
A reminder that
Jesus is indeed my Savior for all time.
Now another bell sounds, it is a joyful sound
It says to me
Your salvation is come.

believe

is it wrong to set aside my limits and believe
to enter a creation of thought and mystery
to understand that things may change within my belief,
in what though,
in me,
in you,
in destiny,
in God,
to trust the understandings of my mind
or to go with the great devine,
with so much said and such great debates i find myself confused,
if i believe in me will i create chaos within my own doubts,
to believe in you.. wait there aren't you me,
these thoughts are haunting me,
i just want to be free.

I Have A Friend

I have a friend
who died for me,
who rose again,
who set me free.
Freed from sin
and every flaw,
and all the empty
reasons I lived for.

Tiny dreams
and short lived laughs,
just puny drops
of life's big glass.
On a deep blue sea
he has me sailing,
storm clouds flee
‘cos it's him that’s reigning.

As rays of sunshine
fall upon my face,
my scars now smiles
of erased mistakes.

Jesus, yes that’s his name, wants to be your friend, that’s why he came.
That’s why he also has a boat for you, would you like to know him to?

Romans 12:8-13 Bible version called "The Message"

If you're called to give aid to people in distress, keep your eyes open and be quick to respond; if you work with the disadvantaged, don't let yourself get irritated with them or depressed by them. Keep a smile on your face. Love from the center of who you are; don't fake it. Run for dear life from evil, hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fidle. Don't burn out; keep yourself fueled and aflame. Be alert servents of the lord, cheerfully expectant. Don't quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy people; be inventive in hospitality.

About this poem:
Gypsyheart's poem "Wish for an Umbrella" reminded me of this passage. Had to go look it up and wanted to share.

--TODAY--

one day i will find out what happened today,

somehow i knew something strange would begin this way,

i found something out about myself today,

that im not currently here i have gone away,

i have not gone forever from this present day,

thats the thing about the way i pray,

i have looked beyond time as my life seemed to melt away,

im sure i will return because memories stay!...

A Tribute to The Almighty God

The greatest of human philosophers cannot by reasoning prove that you exist
And yet nature testifies that you are real
You are not a magic potion
Still you are the all sufficient one for those that trust in you
You are not a charm or amulet
But you banish all darkness, fear and evil
You cannot be inhaled, absorbed, ingested, digested or given intravenously
Yet you empower man’s total being with strength
You cannot be seen, touched, heard, tasted or smelt
And yet you…..
Are seen through the eyes of understanding
Touched by faith that bring about wholeness
Tasted through digestion of your words which is sweet
Heard as you impresses your word upon the heart
Smelt as the heart ponders your awesomeness
Those that mock you in life
Tremble at the thought of meeting you at death
Those who are persecuted because of you
Endure such persecution with gladness and joy
For you control the forces of nature
And uses them to accomplish your purposes
When other need multiple gods to satisfy their needs
You surpass all any man can need and more
You are so great no one name adequately describe you
El, Elyon,El Shaddai, El Olam, Adanoi, Yahweh, Jehovah and more
You are the Almighty One, the great creator, LORD of all
You are the most wonderful, most glorious, most powerful being in the universe
You are the Almighty God

Enlightenment

He could no longer distinguish
the different voices -
the merry voice from the weeping voice
the childish voice from the manly voice
They all belonged to each other
the lament of those who yearn
the laughter of the wise
the cry of indignation and groan of the dying
They were all interwoven and interlocked
entwined in a thousand ways
And all the voices
all the goals
all the yearnings
all the sorrows
all the pleasures
all the good and evil
all of them together was the world
All of them together was
the stream of events
the music of life
When he did not listen to the sorrow or laughter
When he did not bind his soul
to any one particular voice
and absorb it in his self
but heard them all
the whole
the unity
then the great song of a thousand voices
consisted of one word
OM - perfection

From that hour
Siddharta ceased to fight against his destiny
There shone in his face
the serenity of knowledge
of one who is no longer confronted
with the conflict of desires
who has found salvation
who is in harmony
with the stream of events
with the stream of life
full of sympathy and compassion
surrendering himself to the stream
belonging to the UNITY of all things

About this poem:
This is an extract from the book, "Siddharta" by Herman Hesse.
It focuses on "Enlightenment" in Buddhism
and is one of my favourite pieces of writing.
I have attempted to put it into poetic form to share with others

Faith

It takes the will to dream,
To hope for a perfect future,
And to wish for nothing less
than the best for all humanity.

It takes the courage to begin,
To take the first step,
To start the life we've all hoped for,
And to make a foundation for the younger generation.

It takes the perseverance to continue,
To overcome all obstacles,
To keep up even when it seems impossible,
And to strive even when it seems like all hope is gone.

It takes the faith to believe,
That through God all things are possible,
That anything started with him shall be fulfilled,
It takes the faith in God to dream and to overcome
what seems utterly impossible.
