From Rome to Arabia

The stories they wrote are long gone.
Some hearts will never call to mind the rules,
while others know nothing of their existence.

Twelve, the chosen,
but few told the story of redemption;
they forfeited common lives for the sacrifice.

In the place of the devil’s seat …
some device deceptions
and think to change the principles,
as Daniel predicted.

He sits as God, the holy father,
with endowed permission
to pardon transgression
and chastise the guilty;
the son of perdition he is, her chosen.

A woman riding high on the back of a beast;
a wife, double-crossing her husband.
Solemn voices seek her guidance.
She is a mother, a mother of gods.

She makes war with the blameless,
and wore-out the people.
Her path is an illusion of peace.

A child was born of her;
he claimed himself a prophet,
making Gabriel a liar and an accomplice.

In his spirit, they destroy the people
and the rules of the book.
He took their God, and makes him demented.
He offered rewards in God’s new name saying,
“Hunt for the infidels the world over;
make war with them,
be relentless”

Forgive them

Forgive them if they slight you
for the faith which you believe
forgive them if they know it all
and flatter to deceive
forgive them if they think that faith
is a mind of fantasy
forgive them for they seek to fill
all thats eternally empty
forgive them if they call you mad
their sanity has it's bounds
forgive them if they seek to shoot
with empty secular rounds
forgive them if they see their god
as a measure of material gain
forgive them if they start to laugh
and smirk to hide the pain
forgive them for it's death they fear
the dark besets the end
forgive them for they envy you
and still cant comprehend
forgive them as they're human
only so far they can see
the gateway to a mind at peace
and you have the key.

at the edge of the cliff

The winds blow wildly,
As it tosses her hair.
But she's standing at
The edge of the cliff
And doesn't care.

She feels the bare stones
Under her cold feet
And wishes she was strong,
Strong enough to
Defeat,

The numbness she feels,
Deep inside,
As she decides
That suicide is,
Her only way to quickly die.

At the edge of the cliff
She puts one foot
Forward,
Knowing the other step
She takes,
Will lead her into
Death,
Eternal.

And as she is ready to end
Her life,
A soft gentle voice whispers,
Are you alright?

NO! She cries out in anguish and
Full of pain,
Everything I do,is for nothing and,
In vain!

I've tried so hard to be
The best I can be,
But all I can do is give
Pure misery!

I gave all I could till there
Was nothing left
Yet I know in my heart I tried
My best.

Hey you, said the soft voice
Why did you forget that it was I
Not you
when you was with them and
Showed them how to be
Free?

It was not in your power nor in your
Fault
That you tried to do the best
You could.

For that in itself is the
Power of Love,

Don't you understand?

You are the best you can
Be,
And if, your not satisfied,
With that,
Just come to me.

Just as you are.

OWEGO - MY ADOPTED HOME

Embedded image from another site
I may not be an Owego native bred and born
But this small town has certainly become my home
Front Street flowers in Spring is hard to compare
People drive by just to stop and stare

The Susquehanna River twists and turns gently by
While all kinds of birds overhead fly
The Park is lined all over with old Hickory trees
Welcoming all while blowing in a gentle breeze

When you venture out to walk down the street
You know and speak to everyone you greet
Sometimes it is like stepping back in time
Or is it that the rest of the World is far behind

You can travel all over the World
But you will never find a more precious pearl
For nowhere you go can compare to home
No matter how far and how long you roam

Juggling InThe Park

Juggling
In the park
I think it was three weeks before Easter
Walking in the park
I think it was below freezing
People talking
People walking
A woman selling Mountain Dew
In a gas station
Wishing me a nice day
Can you dig it
Yes I can
I've been waiting such a long time
For Sunday
Another day in the park
I think it was March 19
Slow motion drivers
In the Hardee's drive thru
Getting sausage and biscuits
And maybe some gravy
Wait a minute
I used to pay way less than this
9 dollars
and 8 cents
Listen children
All is not lost
Just some coinage
Just some coinage
I've been waiting such a long time for the day

HelloGoodbye

Misdirection

I watched the gulls out over the sea
The reflection of the sun blinding me

The breeze blowing through everything that could move
If this day ever ends, it'll still be too soon

I'm holding on to dreams and false beliefs
I've got hope

I'll do as I please and not care what you think of me
But you know-

Everything's spinning and turning, jumping and flying
We're running and dodging everything in our way

And your smile still gleams so brightly,
As we realize all this time-
We we're going the wrong way.

YOU

To use a different metaphor who were you before? before you were this you, were you another U2? and will you be you after this you? And how many you's have there been?
How many you's will there be? And if you are the only you, well, then you be you and I'll be me too.
