You do not define me!

He doesn't use a pitch dork
He doesn't have a tail
He comes disguised
as fear and lies,
to remind you when you fail.
He doesn't wear a red suit and he doesn't smell like smoke,
he sneaks around
until he finds your doubt,
and that's where
he makes his home
When he comes for you
all you gotta do,
is take look at the devil
right square in the eye,
tell him,
I have believed you
for the very last time.
Devil I know
you been lying to me,
you do not define me.
All of your power
has been swept away,
your threats are as empty,
as Jesus grave.
So devil go get behind me, because
you do not define me
He knows the ways
that we're different,
how we're tempted
to choose a side.
Takes the beauty
in our diversity,
and will use it
to divide.
And he'll split us over doctrine
Or the color of our skin
And when we fight
with fear and hate
He's the only one who wins.
But when he comes your way
Just put him in his place.
Just take a look at the devil right square in the eye
and tell him
I have believed you,
for the very last time.
Devil, I know you've been lying to me
you do not define me.
All of your power
has been swept away,
your threats are as empty,
as Jesus grave.
So devil go get behind me, because
you do not define me.

About this poem:
These are the lyrics to one of my favorite songs. It's important to remember that even in faith we are constantly tested. The devil will never stop trying to get to us. You have to fight to remain good and pure in all that you do, all the time.

LOATHSOME LIFE #CII

Whatever created humans made THE indefensible mistake
inexplicable inhumanity strongly suggest hope's at stake
Many compassionate people indubitably epitomize good
propensity for evil reason humanity should've never stood

Under ruthless Dictators millions throughout history died
1st Commandment should've been prohibition of Genocide
Still today Slaughterer's of human life avoid paying a price
torturing the demonic leaders would actually be too nice

Why aren't these savages forcibly removed from there thrown
what does it say about a humane race allowing horrors known
Unjust human suffering keeps my heart and soul dripping tears
'Wrong' has taken the place of 'Right' throughout my years

This unfair, loathsome life I wish was indicative of worth
from my demoralized soul "I utterly detest mankind's birth"

The Old Barn

How long have you stood

By the way your old beams rest

Clear as is day you’re in distress

How such I cast a disappointing eye

If only I've ever seen you as you now lie

Nor can I recall all your glory days

How rude am I to cast such glances

When long ago you hosted many dances

Whose memories still boast of romances

Still the raddled cats hunt mice in your lofts

The bunnies borough deeply under your sills

The sparrows nesting in your gabled eaves

Everywhere I look I see how life abounds

As the old barn falls into the ground

Fingernails

Fingernails to the wall
digging through the skin
Scratching them every day
burning tips so thin

Pase the movement down they go
peel them to the bone
Screeching sound of blunt
ten times to the tone

Fingernails to the wall
Pray that it will end
Dripping traces left of red
staining knees that bend

Rise them slowly up again
to run them down the track
Yesterday's old stained traces
have slightly turned to black

What Jesus really meant

If I turn water into wine
I do not mean to insult
you with a cheap magicians
trick, but to give you hope
that within my hands I hold
the true power of life's
celebration~
If I walk on water I hoped
you'd catch me smiling as
I give you courage not to
fear the storm~
When I said, 'Is not life
more than meat, is not the
gift of life more precious
than the choicest gold?'~
If I've healed the sick, have
you not seen wherein your true
healing lay?~
If I have raised the dead, is
this any more marvelous than
the yellow rose of Sharron?~
If I have suffered mockery,
persecution, and death for you,
have I not declared your worth
beyond all the stars of heaven?~
If I am just a dead man on a
stick, then where is your hope
in the land of the living?~
If I said, 'I am the way, the truth,
and the life, then how my friend have
you found hope in another?'~
If I can create loaves and fishes
out of nothing then who do you
serve that can do more?~
If I said, 'He who believes in me
shall never die, then where else
have you wandered to find the words
of life?~
Men will disappoint, but as I told
you before I will say again..
He who believes in me shall never
be put to shame~

Trumpet In The Sky

Saw a trumpet in the sky this morning
Some would say it was only a cloud
But I saw a trumpet in the sky this morning
Someday it will be sounding loud

How are you this morning this morning
I hope you're feeling fine
Saw a trumpet in the sky this morning
Shortly after Sunday church time

The signs of spring are gathering around
I'm glad to see winter is fading away
Saw a trumpet in the sky this morning
Oh trumpet you have made my day

Remind me God

Remind me God,
When my memory fails,
Of your Son,
that bore the nails,
When I walk on lonely lost
stone covered trails.
When my memory fails.
Remember me God.

When I forget to search for your love.
When I stop looking toward the stars above,
When I feel lonely weak and frail,
When my memory starts to fail,
Remind me God.

Remind me God of who you are.
The master of every shining star,
And when a tear falls,
as I fight a inner war.
When I stand at the water well,
If you ever see my memory fail,
Remind me God

Why Kitchen Curtains Were Made

Where does the wind come from
Where does it go
Suppertime is near a certain feeling is here

The widow is raised kitchen curtains begin to wave
Kitchen curtains were made
To introduce the Holy Spirit

Your mother worked hard all day the wash is on the line
But the kitchen curtains are dry by suppertime
There's a blessing in the wind and as you say amen

Where does the wind come from
Where does it go
I should have helped mama with the dishes long long ago

Visions

Thunder Birds approach on the horizon...
just before the rain -
four-legged's tapping and banging on this old house
and its skeletal windowpanes...
rain dancing across the tin roof
barely touching the gutter,
the thunder growls,
and south winds howl...
earth, bones and walls begin to shudder.
The Owl perched above the loft sits frozen..
yet always keeping his even and steady scowl.
The Ancient Ones spoke of these harbingers...
These Thunder Birds,
and how they would foretell of the Storms to come,
They come now...
in my dreams...
in my Vision..
before the thunder clouds,
in a crash...
in a whisper.
The clear reflection in this still pool
mirrors my perceptions now...
as before...
but soon reflections obscured,
Choked by the red clay that swirls within its depths.
My friend, the dark bird...
lost in the ever turbulent streams above the clouds,
will soon find its roost...
...and the Grandfather will bring us the Holy Light,
born from the heart of the eastern mountains.

WHY WORRY

Humans must live with a degree of sorrow
just knowing we're not promised tomorrow
An existence inundated with crippling grief
it seems dying is the only relief

Without mercy life incessantly pounds you
getting back up harder and harder to do
Humanity most responsible for unduly pain
mankind steadily straying farther from sane

Longing for answers to life induces stress
if we can't grasp or control it why obsess
Life makes little to no sense so Why Worry
the unknown was meant to be blurry

Answer to why we're here, there isn't one
reasons we shouldn't be are a ton
