By The Sweat Of Their Brow

Soldiers dug a hole in the ground
By the sweat of their brow
Then they went and got this man
This same man you still know now

I'm sure they must have mocked him
As they all took a bow
And then they nailed his hands and his feet
By the sweat of their brow

They rasied him up beside two thieves
How much more would the crowd allow
As they gambled for his garments
There beneath the sun by the sweat of their brow

What Easter Means To Me

What Easter means to me
let me tell you my dear friend
It means a life with loved ones dear
that will have no end.

The miracle of Gethsemene,
the pain our Saviour bore.
That He loved me alone enough
to bleed at every pore.
That as my sins were spoken
He willingly took the pain
That I may be cleansed and spotless
to live with Him again.
I cannot comprehend such love,
such mercy and such grace
But when I contemplate this gift
I long to see His face.
To look at one who loves so much,
To whom I owe my all.
To one who lifts me when I am weak
And saves me from the fall.
I long to look into the eyes
Of my Precious Saviour dear
And with my hand just stroke His cheek
And feel His presence near.
Then thank Him for His kindness
And bow on bended knee
As with grateful tears I bathe His feet
For simply loving me.

I think of the journey to Calvary
after the injustice he had born
The mockery of a trial, been spit upon
And treated with such scorn.
The fatigue He must felt
As He journeyed to the hill
To do what needed to be done
To fulfil His Father's will.
Oh, what debt I owe Him
For each step He took that day.
For showing me how to face my trials
Whenever they come my way.
Then on the cross they nailed Him
Placed thorns upon his head.
Never once did He murmur
As with the thorns He bled!
Instead He looked upon the crowd
With love and compassion too.
Kindly He said, "Father forgive them
For they know not what they do"
He died for me in Calvary,
Someone as weak as I.
His mercy reaches out to me
His love I can't deny.

I think of the joy, the wonderful joy
The joy of Easter Morn
The joy that fills my soul with wonder
As I think of that Sunday dawn
When the stone was rolled away
And the bands of death were broke.
"He is not here, He is risen"
Were the words by the angel spoke.
My Saviour, my beloved Saviour
Rose that Easter Day
He rose, He rose my heart sings
let us walk now in His way.

Dear friend I hope this Easter
Will bring you joy untold
As you recognise you are worth
More to Him
Than any precious gold.
Our Father gave His Beloved Son
He gave Him for you and me
Let us then recognise our worth
And like our Saviour be.

Child

When it seemed like I had no future,
And it felt it was wrong to rejoice,
God called to me in a whisper;
He called in a still, small voice.

Child, why is your soul downcast?
Why is your heart filled with fear?
I am The Lord of creation;
You are the child I hold dear.

This life sometimes isn't easy.
Sometimes this life is just hard.
But I've sworn and I'll keep every promise
That I've made to you in my Word.

For you, there's no condemnation,
For you've loved and you trusted in Me.
Even this is a gift of my choosing,
The faith that you need to believe.

Trust that I'm working in all things,
Just like I said that I would.
Making you in Jesus' image,
That's My definition of good.

What good would I keep from my children?
My perfect provision is sure.
I gave you My Son for redemption;
I will give you the strength to endure.

No trial or trouble shall beat you,
My power is perfect and true.
Although hell release all its fury,
My love will carry you through.

I love you my child with My passion.
I've proven as much with My blood.
And nothing in all of creation
Can take you away from My Love.

Easter

My favorite part of the story of Jesus
Is where he is on the cross
And one of the criminals hanging on a cross near him
Asks him to remember him when he gets to heaven
Basically Jesus saves him from hell
This has always been my favorite part
Why is it so hard to find this message in Easter?
The colored eggs
The jelly beans
The chocolate rabbit
Eating fish on Friday
These seem to be more popular traditions
Would Jesus be proud of most religions?
Would he even be proud of the Roman Catholics?
I guess my answer would be that he would be proud of some
No matter what faith they believe in
But ashamed of most
Do they really keep the 10 commandments?
Are they nice to others?
Are they forgiving, especially of themselves?
Of course Jesus already knows the answer

About this poem:
Just some thoughts on Easter. I was reading my bible and the version I read didn't have the conversation between Jesus and the condemned prisoner.

The Eternal Moment

This heart wants to speak
And shout out loud
I have thoughts as colorful as rainbows, stars, and clouds
Dreams hidden away which are begging to peek through
Yesterdays and tomorrows become drains that swallow the new
Memories become mountains that cloud my view
I sit down below witnessing the shadows that show me clues
To an endless life of mysteries to undo

do we care

To dwell on earth
But for a short while
Time goes fast
We have little time

Lot of things we should do
We say tommorow will do
We just dispair
Nothing happens

Do we care
We struggle with life daily chore
Unfull filled
Unless we make it happen

Is it fate luck could happen
No one knows
Or I know is the pearly gates beckon

Thank you, Lord

Thank you Lord for saving me
You took our sin and set us free.
O Lord of heaven we pledge to be
Your humble servants faithfully
And God in glory we will see.
You'll bring us safe to be with Thee.

From day to day within our life
We praise Your name within our strife
With open hearts to let You in
You've freed our souls from all our sin.
Dear Lord of heaven so graciously
Your children yearn so needfully.

When darkness falls and perils near
Your Spirit comforts us held dear.
Bolster our hearts with Your sweet love
And guide us to Your heaven above.
Perfect Redeemer, through Your Son
Help us to fight till war is won.

With You in heaven we'll take our place
And worship round Your holy face
No more to sin or worries raise
Our souls in glory bring You praise.
We herald Your blessing, for at last
Our earthly journey is now past.

I ASKED GOD

I asked God for strength that I might achieve;
I was made weak that I might learn to humbly obey.

I asked for health that I might do greater things;
I was given infirmity that I might do better things.

I asked for riches that I might be happy in life;
I was given poverty that I might be wise.

I asked for power so I might have praise of men;
I receive weakness that I might be in need of God.

I asked for things that I might enjoy my life;
I was given life that I might would enjoy things;

I got nothing I asked for ,
But every thing I hoped for.

Almost, dispite myself,
My unspoken prayers were answered.

I am among all men most richly blessed!

from the Bible 1 Cor 13, 4-7

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

KEEPING THE FAITH

My heart is tearing apart as i cry out
in pain begging for some relief.
I did not know i would end up here at
this moment or time in my life.
I want only to provide for you.
I do not want you to feel my pain.
I drop to my knees crying out
in prayer to you Lord wanting you my
heavenly father to help me through this
obstacle in my life.
I tell myself just have faith.
I see no other job in site for me.
Yet i keep on traveling down this
road that you have put me on LORD.
You have always met my needs
before i even knew i had them.
Therefore where is my disbelief.
There still is this little question
if i can pay bills after this next month.
I just keep reminding myself to keep
the faith and rely on GOD.
