A Shower of Sadness...

The rain shook its hair out
Carelessly,
Showering my heart with raindrops.
Which,
As I stood in a doorway
Thinking of you,
Became
Tears.
To blinded foot they fell,
Streaming out of me into
The darkness.
Where,
Whipped up by the moons reflection
Strands of gold and silver,
Carried them away
Into oblivion.
Gone
Gone
Gone,
Lost forever.
Just like me....

A Note to Princesses

His conversations are metallic:
cool, brilliant, reflective –
shining armor smithed for deflection:
I am dazzled, blinded by its glare.
Perhaps the fairytales forgot to mention
that armor only defends the knights,
and isn’t made for girls.

self imprisonment

of late my life feels to be in a drought
for your love, I have been too long without
it could be from drinking way too much stout
which makes me appear and act like a lout
casts me in a bad light, there is no doubt
bemoaning the heavens, I scream and shout
then crawl to a corner and merely pout
I know you know what I'm talking about
how do I shed this skin, let myself out?

warmhearted

perhaps I'll flood this site with bad poems and stories
rhymes for no reason and tiresome past glories
the more, the less merrier, the darker, the scarier
heartbreaking scenarios without a word cherrier

I'll write long and winding sad tales of sick dogs
then toss in some ugly slop hogs for good measure

a full fill of bile to make one lose their lunch
windy works of fiction that one could not treasure

or relate the tale of that poor little boy
when christmas arrived, he found nary a toy
not even a patch for the hole in his shoe
just a list of chores that he was to do

...I've become depressed. I think I'll stop now.

Sometimes I wonder

Is there one just one leftover for me-
Is leftovers the best I can think of for me?

It's been a long road but I'm still nowhere

One day I hope to find someone who cares.

I used to have a life

I used to have a life,
a life without
which seemed to stretch
eternally, unendingly
until the day it shattered
into a million pieces scattered
and then I threw it all away
into the arms of the awaiting sea
And next I threw away the key
the pretty golden key
so now I have no life at all
unless..........!

yet another day

I wake by myself in the frost filled dark
As daylight empties into stark
Scathing sun glints cold relief
on life script penned in disbelief.

The lifeless morning treads my way
Nowhere to go, no thing to say
I turn my face from the unseeing crowd
Shrink from relentless celebratory loud

Rumours echo of Christmases full
Turn back to real in the silent lull
Seeing through windows lives of plenty
Move away and return to empty

If on their tree I could hang a dream
A thought of hope in an angel's gleam
only kind would be what will seem
And wishes granted in a happiness beam.

About this poem:
For life's orphans and aliens who do not have family to 'celebrate' with and feel like they have landed on someone else's planet for 2 weeks every year.

Depths of Despair

A cave so deep and dark and dank
Is where I want to be
No light to shine, no breath to stir
To hide myself from thee

My sins upon my neck I wear
A chain that weighs me down
Grief, anger, pity, hate
My bedding they do make

A voice it whispers in my head
Love, forgiveness, it does speak
Open your heart and open your eyes
Let the light shine in

Dare I hope, Dare I believe
After all I've done, all I have been
Words spoken, acts committed
That someone cares for me

About this poem:
Wrote this one a few years ago. Everyone sometime in their life hits the depths of despair. Sometimes just a kind word can make all the difference to the person.

Black Dog

Still days there are
When the Black Dog visits
On days I am alone
Those days myself I question
What have I done wrong
It's then I feel so useless
Though right I've tried to do
Yet still this feeling hits me
And Black Dog comes around
He shows no peace or compassion
Keep fighting this fight alone

Follow This Step

I stuck around to see you cry
I felt your pain but I helped you fly

You didn't care, you just bruised my skin
I had nothing left, you tore me within,

My life was everything I gave you it all
Now I guess you get to see me fall,

I don't show my anger I don't show my pain
But its funny because there's nothing keeping me sane,

The scares on my body you left for my shame
You called me everything but never my name,

I finally leave covered in my own blood
Ive had enough I'm stepping out of the mud.
