Why are we Here?

A speck of flysh*t floating in Infinity,
What are we more; (from a cosmological point of view)?

A question no one knows,
Though some will say.

In this amazing world,
Theories, they abound,
And beliefs are many.

Yet no one knows an
Atom of the truth.

Quantum fields collapsing
In Deep Cosmic Time.

Photons of light,
Billions of years old.

Light years into the void,
And into Infinity.

Although, (Unlikely);
There is a chance,
That we may be the only life out there.

So why don't we,
Look after it all,
A little bit better?

Starlight Woman

Her hair fell down in starlight tinted tresses,
Splashing every wave in silver light;
And all is hers when Earth Goddess undresses;-
(Old soul in young body makes her spright);
True only if my memory confesses,-
Her presence makes for earthly delight;-
A woman with a spirit from the stars -
When Venus lies juxtaposed with Mars.

Maybe all the planets in alignment,
Will suffice to bring an earthly visit;
To draw a man from his heart's confinement;
Is the reason she appears (this I posit);-
When she senses in another one refinement;
She descends from her celestial closet;-
From ancient dust that once was made in stars;
To haunt some lonely soul in city bars.

I see a distant star - is that the Lady?
Or just a lost diamond from her ring?
If I search the Milky Way, then just maybe;-
She fleets among the dust to find her king?
And in her star-clothes, luminous and hazy,
Her celestial vibrations she will bring;-
Though sometimes she will act - (as through a minion);
Earthly Affairs just part of her dominion.

Convict Chains

Our Nation young;-

Though still bound,
By convict chains;-

To feel that
Flogging blood;-

That goes down,
Through generations;-

And through
The years;-

Crime is in the blood,
They say;-
Bad genes.

Down through generations.

The bitter spite,
Against authority.

The gambler's curse,

And no one
Wants to go to jail.

We will fight you,
In Sydney.

All those Larrikins
And Hard Men

Nights spent drinking,
And brawling, in the Rocks

Now soft sounds returned;-
As the waves smack,
Against the Quay;-

Long ago;-
All those guts and gore.

And the flailing of the Cat*
On this newfound shore.

To see Police,
And still, hackles come up;-

Like a dog before a fight,
In bridled frenzy.

And Foveaux**,
On Norfolk Island was;-

The salty air;
And the salty taste of blood.

No One Knows

A first blush of pink now heralds new dawn,
With strings of thin white clouds which burn away;
And as refulgent light hints at your form,
Four horses drag hot Sun into the day.*

First blush of pink, and that blush all too brief,
Now night has left upon a whim of blue,
Sky which lights now into stark relief;
And time, it seems, can hold no other hue.

The rising Sun a burning crown of glory,
I see his yellow disk now orb the sky;*
Another day dawns on our human story,
And still there's none who know exactly why.

A Sufic Poem

When we see beyond
Good and Evil
We want the Good.

When we see beyond
Time and Place
Beyond Place and Time
Beyond Time and Space.

Thoughts are faster than light
In all of the Galaxies
Interconnected.

Golden beach sand
Constantly washing
Back and forth
Under this Sun

And under the starlight
In the night
It's swirling in the
Thousand eddies
Of the tides.

Lives interconnected
In the Invisible World.

Intuition
Incredible chance
And the strangeness
Of our Being.

Our long journey
From mineral
To plant
To animal
To Man.

And beyond even this
To the Galaxies
And the Stars.

To forgive the Ignorant
And Cruel
Their Sins.

To forgive
The Idiocy
Of their
Unawareness.

Echoes of light
Echoes of psyche
Echoes of the night
In these "Echoes
Of Eternity".

The End Times

The End Times are almost here,
So now it's time to be sincere;
The cause not quite so Biblical -
More decimation environmental.

Cancel Culture, and things gone mad,
History drowns in a sea of sad;
Creative content not rewarded,
Starving artists, and life gone sordid.

Every one pushing their own barrow,
Censorship makes thinking narrow;
It may be that no one's right -
So shit on Nature (despite her plight).

Still, the senseless urge to breed,
Another million mouths to feed;
Babies dying in the dust -
Adult to Adult, there's no trust.

Now cut down the Amazon,
You'll only know when it's all gone;-
So f*ckwits (like B*lsonaro),
Can make a Hell (where he will go).

And to top it all, now there's Covid,
(Though there were plagues before Ovid);
The difference is this one's man-made;-
To make us sick, (before we fade).

But that's ok (just don't ask Chyna);
As it violates the World's va*ina;-
And who decides just what is "truth"?
You'd best believe "fake news" - by Ruth!

So curse the cults, curse the Pope,
Curse us all, when there's no hope -
(The problem here was Evolution,
There seems to be a convolution).

Man-made God - that's his mistake,
Now's too late to apply the brake;
Many species have died out -
What makes Man think that he'll "win out"?

So come one day, when there's no one here,
Because fools ruined the Biosphere,
Man will have himself to blame -
'Cos self-deception's a stupid game.

Each Mind

Each Mind a separate Universe
As Galaxies unfold.

Where Time emitted
From it's source
Does Destiny now hold.

We all have Sins, Pain, and Pleasure;-
Most are yet untold.

Things we don't yet understand
May yet be revealed.

Time this wrinkled
Star of Gravity.

Are we alone; -
Who knows?

Within this Flower

Within this flower of a rose
A single drop of dew
Cascades its fount, and now are tears
Cried for the man she knew.

Dainty lashes - wet with tears
Emotion over flows
Her heaving bosom ; - dare no one say
That moss about her grows.

Too soon forgot, and racked with sobs
She really knows not why;-
It was only for a few weeks,
And he was just another guy.

For my Late Great Mate Bob

How do I describe such a man?

Bob, you were kind,
(And cared little for money).

Bob, you had a terrific sense of humor,
(But it was never nasty).

Bob, you saw the World as absurd,
(And insisted that I did too).

Bob, you loved horses,
(And knew that I did as well).
We both loved a bet on the races.

Bob, you loved a beer,
(And I often had one with you).

Bob, when I first met you,
You were the first local
To make me feel welcome.
(That was sixteen years ago).

Bob, you knew that I was a womaniser
(But you accepted me for who I am).

Bob, you loved woman
(But often you would hide it).

Bob, you told me of the dangers of drink,
(Yet admitted that it served a purpose).

Growing up in the 1930's
In Balmain*,
When it was a slum;
During the Great Depression.

Helping to unload trucks,
When you were twelve years old;
So that your ten siblings
Would have something to eat;-
You were already a Man.

You never got a proper education,
Though you were not bitter about it;-
(It takes a Great Man, to be like this).

Bob, you were my teacher;-
And you were my guide.
(And I learned much from you).

You were on my "wavelength"
And you were a selfless man.

You were truly unique;-
(And saw the great humor in monkeys).
You knew completely, that they are our relatives,-
(And that one branch were our lineal ancestors).

The World may not have seen you as much;-
Because you were old (And cared little for money).

You didn't care,
What anyone thought.

Your mind was sharp
To the "end".

You laughed at life,
All the way through;-
For eighty-seven years,
(You even cracked jokes, on your deathbed).

Bob, to the best mate,
I've ever had.

You were my mate,
And I'll miss you.**

Swipe Right

Swipe right
My daily rite
(For as a man
I need delight).

Swipe left
I feel bereft
(Although it's quick
As I am deft).

Swipe right
Maybe some night
She will let me
Be her knight.

Well, I'm alone
(And all out of fight)
Today I'm done
With swiping right.

Can this continue?
Well not tonight
(I've writer's block)
And so goodnight.
