A rolling Reverend

To reclaim God under a deep black sky
in these times the heavens may shake
keep one hand on the wheel
the other on the crucifix brother
a rolling Reverend
into the night we drive
sing, sing Hallelujah
to all the earthly creatures
camped under a full moon
O be wise and watchful
the Devil may take his care here
yes he may loiter in these dark lands
but freeze him out my brothers
like the church on a hill
be steadfast and true
and not bent and deceived
yes we go down into the lands
of the downtrodden and repentant
to bring the light
bring the light
bring the light

Fuming Scales

Dragon fire casting spells,
Piercing fumes, a haze compels,
Toxic breath, it's hard to breathe,
Fiery wings set free.

Unleashing fury of the flame,
From ember to inferno it came,
A dragon's rage, a sight to fear,
Its fuming scales, all too clear.

A beast so mighty, free to roam,
In darkness, it calls home,
Its power knows no bounds,
And with a breath, all falls down.

Fuming scales, sharp as knives,
With roaring bellows, it thrives,
A predator, a primal force,
A dragon's power has no remorse

Dreaming in Silence

I had a dream, a beautiful melody
But now it's gone, just a distant memory
It filled my soul, gave me wings to fly
But now the silence, just echoes in my mind

The music's gone, lost without a sound
The rhythm's stopped, it's buried underground
The notes have vanished, into thin air
But the melody's still there, it's everywhere

I close my eyes, try to picture the scene
I see the stage, I feel the madolin in between
My fingers move, I feel the music flow
I hear the crowd, as the rhythm starts to grow

The music's gone, lost without a sound
The rhythm's stopped, it's buried underground
The notes have vanished, into thin air
But the melody's still there, it's everywhere

Oh, why did it have to end this way?
Why did the music have to fade away?
I'll keep dreaming, and someday I will Find
The melody will return, The music in my mind

The music's gone, lost without a sound
The rhythm's stopped, it's buried underground
The notes have vanished, into thin air
But the melody's still there, it's everywhere

I'll keep searching, for that lost tune
I won't give up, I'll count every moon
I'll find the rhythm, and let it flow
The music will return, and my soul will know.

Meeting Again

Resting in my chair at last
After the morning repast
Pondering what to do this day
Thoughts of you did pass my way

Smiling as I recalled that day
When we first met and talked away
And the evening hours melted away
Gone too soon dare I say

Now waiting patiently for the days to pass by
While I conjure clever ways to plan a call
To meet again somewhere close by
Not too soon or not at all

I will take my time to plan
.So I will not fail to meet again
This fine lass I have met so I might woo her best I can
When I see her once again

About this poem:
I met a lady recently and was resting the next day and decided that I would like to meet her again. This is a little fun thing about the thought surrounding the desire vs the trepidation of when is the right time after that first encounter to make contact

Deep in the Mines ( Dwarven Drinking Song)

Deep in the mines where the ale flows free
Our tankards raised, let the revelry be
Dwarven drinking songs and cheers all round
For we're the finest miners in the underground

Our work is rough, but our spirits high
For we're the ore extractors 'til we die
With pick-axes and hammers at our side
We'll drink to our health and mining pride

The sweat on our brows, a badge of honor
As we celebrate our toil, our highness we garner
The caverns ring with the dwarven sound
As we sing and toast our stouts all 'round

So raise your tankards and sing along
To the mining life, our drinking song
For deep in the mines where the ale flows free
We'll raise our voices in grand jubilee.

"Ode to the Heart of a Soldier"

I am a soldier, my heart bound to this land,
Fighting for life and liberty, with strength in my hand.
Treading upon sands that echo our flag's command,
With every step, my resolve remains unbowed, it will stand.

My faith is my shield, my courage, my sword,
Facing each adversary, fear is never restored.
On this battlefield, where hope is our accord,
Victory will be ours, with the dawn's reward.

Challenging adversity, chest bared in the light,
Love for my country pulses, in every beat it's right.
Echoes of justice resound, cutting through the night,
No force in this world can smother my fight.

I am a soldier, in the constant fervent fray,
My path may be barren, but powerful is my way.
For life, for freedom, my valor does not sway,
My heart, my land, in the victorious array.

Bravery is my anthem, etched in each line of my face,
I march onward, carving freedom's trace.
For each comrade, each soul, each cherished embrace,
I pledge my undying courage, to protect our sacred space.

Through the whispers of the wind, across the desolate dunes,
Rings the song of the soldier, under the silent moon.
In the heart of the warrior, a resonating tune,
An undying symphony of defiance, that can't be overthrown soon.

For each dawn that breaks, each twilight we've withstood,
Lives a testament of valor, of a promise understood.
I am a soldier, in my veins, flows gallant blood,
For the land I adore, for peace, for the greater good.

This is the tale of the soldier, in his glory and strife,
A tale of perseverance, of dedication, of life.
Bound by honor, by love, carved sharp as a knife,
I am a soldier, till the end, in love, in war, in life.

"World's Head Honchos Playing Hide-n-Seek!"

"World's Head Honchos Playing Hide-n-Seek!"

Oh, look, what do I spy on the horizon, so sleek?
It seems the world's head honchos are playing hide-n-seek!
They hide behind curtains of power, grinning ear to ear,
Delighting in the grand theater we've come to hold dear.

Who's that behind the UN's tree, somewhat shy?
Could it be the Secretary-General, playing the sly guy?
He laughs cautiously, controlling the world's pulse,
But can't resist the game, deep into which he's immersed!

Hear that, what's that noise? A whisper from NATO's fort!
The game entices even the strongest, no matter their sort.
With each resolution, each pact, they hide a smile,
Ah, this game promises to be quite worthwhile!

There, behind WHO's shield, can you see that playful shadow?
In the battle for global health, there's a boss echoing a meadow,
A song to this jolly game, though it seems unorthodox,
Indeed, this cosmic hide-n-seek has us all in a paradox!

From the IMF's headquarters, the echo of laughter thunders,
Despite economic crises, here no one blunders.
They play hide-n-seek with coins, such a clever game!
Truly, this is a play filled with much acclaim!

But let's not deceive ourselves, not all is fun and laughter,
This hide-n-seek of the powerful can have its own disaster.
Every round plays with destinies, each turn a nation,
And though the game is comical, we cannot ignore its equation.

Oh, world's head honchos, in your power seats hidden,
Could we, perhaps, ask for a game less midden?
We could play at building, creating, and sharing,
Together, making this world a better place for living.

About this poem:
This whimsical poem anthropomorphizes global organizations as players in a game of hide-and-seek, symbolizing the complexities and hidden actions of global politics and economics. It playfully critiques the elites who navigate these institutions, subtly wielding power. Despite its light-hearted tone, it acknowledges the grave consequences of their decisions. The poem aims to make the abstract concept of global governance relatable, aiming to provoke thought and discussion. The poem was written with a spirit of light-hearted cynicism, highlighting the absurdity of these power dynamics, yet it carries an underlying hope for a more transparent, shared global governance.
This ode falls under the category of "Satirical Poetry." Satirical poetry uses humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues. In this case, the ode humorously critiques the often unseen actions of global elites, symbolized by leaders of major international organizations, and their effect on world affairs.

Tear Me Apart.

Gently remove the dark glasses,
Lift my chin, make me look at you.

Rip the blinds away, reach deeper into my mind.

Tear at all the walls to see every part of who I am.

Pull every piece out by the roots, break me down.

Then put them all together, stand back and see Me.

Let me know then if you have the strength to handle Me.

See Me, Hold Me.

I am, Child, Sister, Daughter, Mother, Friend, Therapist, Momma bear, Protector, Granny.

Wraps them all in a box lined with cotton wool, places my heart on top, closes the box.

Walks into Hands and arms strong enough to rest in for a while, feeling the tears washing my face.

Will collect my box just now, wipe my face, smile and continue.
