Panic often overrides our joy and leaves one's head spinning.

About this poem:
In my short time here reading others poetry, it appaered to me that too many are so sad. So I'm doing a few as a positive note and hope someone benefits from my thoughts

I’m alone in the darkness, waiting for tiredness to release my soul, and take me to my book of dreams.
Flicking through the pages, I see you walk by, you lift your head,.I catch,a smile, lost in the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen.
We sit next to one another; we laugh, and talk, lost in the company of lovers and children as we find the sky within our reach.
Knowing you’re by my side, no dam can withhold my pride
In the darkness your hand slides over my body. Kisses like soft rain fall upon my skin, as my arms close around you, and pull you in.
I want to be there to dispel your fears, shelter you from the cold, kiss away the tears, hold you when you fall.
In my book of dreams there you be

Keep it simple.
© D Heckels
No I won’t write you poetry
nor spin you any spiel
I will just say it how it is
to tell you how I feel
I cant dream mystical thoughts
and clever words that rhyme
in fear of iambic pentameter
going sadly out of time.
So I will choose to keep it simple
and hope its enough to say
I love you
And will tell you every day

I sat for a millennium trapped
Under the shallow depths
Only the last 10 thousand years
Exposed to light and wind and rain
One by one my tiny grains flecked
Away like husks blown about
Making many tiny sand on a beach
Washing up shifting moving
Slightly with each passing tide
Little by little I wear away
Only once was hidden and whole
Wet and dark and shiny
Then as if the turbulence
Of living was not enough
I am picked up by random
And tossed back out to sea
And must wait once again
For a new millennium to begin
To be born again.

You’ll never be lonely, deep in heart, in your dreams,
If it were for me, if you only let me.
For dreams – they just vanish and time – it goes on,
And you - still alone and you think that it's all,
While heart keeps on beating in search for its joy!
You’ll never be lonely if you followed my words,
If it were for me, if you never let go.
It takes little magic to make dreams come true,
Maybe instant or two, maybe longer, but sure,
While heart keeps on beating in search for its cure!
You’ll never be lonely – this chance don’t you miss!
If you asked my advice, if you only let me,
If you followed your star, tracked its course up above,
Then in heavens you’ll see that it’s real, not lie,
While heart keeps on beating in search for true love!

About this poem:
Loneliness is not fatal and can be cured as any other disease, which is not terminal. Perhaps we should do something about it, make a move ... to fan that fire or it will never catch, let alone keep burning steadily. Wish you luck in your love!

On that infamous day that we shan't forget
They slaughtered the innocent without regret
They planned and schemed to destroy and maim
As they packed the explosives aboard the plane
With rabid minds and thoughts to kill
To murder and mutilate the thought did thrill
To lay down their life and become a martyr
With terrorists ideals they thought were smarter
With innocuous lives they sacrificed in spite
As they proudly and fatally boarded their flight
The lives they'll shatter, the havoc they'll wreak
The innocent they’ll slaughter and kill the meek
The whole world watched transfixed again and again
As the towers they hit with commercial planes
Our hearts went out to the ones who were left
Devastated lives worlds shattered, bereft
Christian unity and spirits combined
To aid the bereaved who were left behind
A rallying cry that resounded and called
To the civilized world who watched appalled
Many heroes emerged from the destructed site
They sweated and toiled without respite
From this tragedy the human spirit soared
From all over the world the assistance poured
The brave and the frightened joined like steel
Emotions were high the determination real
They worked shoulder to shoulder until they dropped
Still more replaced them, they never stopped
A stark lesson was learnt that infamous day
That the instigators of death would not get away
We promised their lives would not be in vain
We’ll hunt them down until none remain
The unbridled hatred and vicious odium
From these killers that spout from their evil podium
So be forever watchful and take this lesson to heart
Make the message clear, never again you impart
Our time on this earth is as brief as a breath
So no more wasting the time we have left
For the ones we love can be blasted away
So cherish each from dawning of day.

We were young so our playground was a tree, we learnt how to play and grow with the tree.
The tree was left on it’s own, but we both knew it was home, Thanks to the tree we both found home.
She would sit under the tree reading a book and watching me. Me I would look at her and look at the tree.
The wind blowed under the tree where she used to be, but now the leaves have left the tree and her shadow can be seen.
Now the tree is no more and is the one I adore; I sit down where the tree would be lost two great things dear to me.
So I got up and went in my pocket you see, pulled something out just wait and see.
See it’s a seed, what a wonder that tree will be.

As soon as you pray it echoes
only God consumes its meaning
in this tall room with high rafters
once built for reverence
There's a small bell in the corner
it is chiming in the morning draught
I imagine a spirit still resides here
in this once loved sanctuary
Weddings and funerals all passed
ceremonies for the masses
we watch the candles burn
sunlight through the panes
Salvation may be hidden
in the mysteries here, for all I know
I turn a page and read
"In the beginning.."

I am so in love with you
I think I've lost myself
I don't know what to do
I've put you on a shelf
I know you're all that's real
And that you're the only one
Who can take away the gray
Before my world comes undone
All it takes is your smile
To banish all the pain
All it takes is your laugh
And I'm happy again
With eyes like a tiger
And a smile like a child
Your "soul" burns like a fire
So untamed and so wild
I'm safe wrapped in your arms
Through the feeling of your embrace
We've got each others back
I know we'll last the race
Running through the mist
We hold each others hand
Always seeking the truth
In dangerous land
And I know no matter what
Even when we're near death
We'll always be together
Until our dying breath

About this poem:
This was inspired by my boyfriend. :P It's really lovey-dovey, it references the "souls" but I used the word, not out of religious belief, but out of lack to describe it as anything else that better fits the description of how it seems. lol! Hope you guys like it better than my last one... :O

Resting in my chair at last
After the morning repast
Pondering what to do this day
Thoughts of you did pass my way
Smiling as I recalled that day
When we first met and talked away
And the evening hours melted away
Gone too soon dare I say
Now waiting patiently for the days to pass by
While I conjure clever ways to plan a call
To meet again somewhere close by
Not too soon or not at all
I will take my time to plan
.So I will not fail to meet again
This fine lass I have met so I might woo her best I can
When I see her once again

About this poem:
I met a lady recently and was resting the next day and decided that I would like to meet her again. This is a little fun thing about the thought surrounding the desire vs the trepidation of when is the right time after that first encounter to make contact
