The stillness of cloud
A breathless silence of wind
Warmth of winter sun
A moth in night light
A gecko’s dinner tonight
Through the window pane
Lazy are the days
Awaiting the suns warm rays
Upon gazebo

soldier on the road
cold parchment letters from home
time gathers desire
implore Morpheus
regale me with restful dreams
sacrifice the day
symbols in circles
riddles of a nation state
fist on the lectern

Sunshine in the rain
Peaceful is this life again
Breeze on the water
Green as a wet fern
Freshness as a mountain kissed
Blue as summer skies
Run away with me
I will help you find your way
Going home again

About this poem:
Experimenting a little more with Haiku (nature) versus Senryu (feelings) .....5-7-5 format. Using a very structured format when writing poetry often helps to create such creativity and emphasis on words denoting feelings......amazing how descriptive language becomes....like music almost following conventions.

since you left my hearts grew weak ,since you left its hard to speak, above this earth you now fly why you left I know not why, Summers day is a lesser glow, I'm even sadder amoung the snow, An angel you where here on earth, but taken way I find no worth. Free my soul and mind I pray from remembering your lovingness every day. since you left I feel less glad to heaven I am a little mad. since you left my days are unfilled as each memory I'm my mind I find a chill. Forever lost to my touch I anger long and suffer much. since you left a world darkens more as angry tears flow ever more. since you left.

Water
Water flowing down
babbling, full of joyfulness
giving life to all
Sun
Soul of life are you
blazing ball of sparking fire
lighting up our world
Clouds
Gentle clouds drift by
casting shadows over all
blanking out the sun

what new plant is this?
flowering bees this morning
and butterflies too
at the roadside
solitary flowering weed
vision of loveliness
look! in the garden
the poinsettia is bringing
its first Christmas
walk softly please
streetlights are making
diamonds in the snow
blown in with the wind
hummingbird nuzzles a bloom
and is blown away again
perched on the treetops
iguana closes its eyes
soaking in the sunshine
the new doorkeeper
of this deserted house
one mister spider
loud feathered thud
- flight into eternity
deceptive glass pane

About this poem:
For those who may not know, Haiku is a form of Japanese poetry. The standard structure consists of three lines in which the first line consists of five syllables, the second has seven syllables and the third has five syllables.
"Haiku is a finger pointing at the moon. If the hand is bejewelled, we no longer see that to which it points." The idea is to draw attention to what is being said and not to the words used to say it.

dog breaks wind in sleep
awakens and sniffs the air
then bolts from the room
dog in playful mood
spinning around and around
to catch its own tail
dog sniffing the grass
searching for the perfect spot
to put down a poop
