'Person'(ality) v's Looks

There's a certain 'person'(ality)
to the way we look
And a certain look to our
'person'(ality)
But at the end of the day
when we're all done looking
That 'person' is our 'Re'(ality)..

The Get away

When you need to get away
to be the person you truly
are
Just grab your hat and coat
and follow your guiding star
You may have to give it all
up, and show up empty handed
But look at those chains you're
wearing and your heart will
certainly demand it
It takes courage to soar like
an eagle for those who'll
take the dare
But compared to a lifetime
in prison
Why should you really care?~

Rodney Dangerfield quotes

A girl phoned me the other day and said "Come on over, there's nobody home." I went over. Nobody was home.

During sex, my wife always wants to talk to me. Just the other night she called me from a hotel.

Woman: "I'm not interested in casual sex."

Dangerfield: "Alright, I'll keep my tie on."

I was tired one night and I went to the bar to have a few drinks. The bartender asked me, "What'll you have?" I said, "Surprise me." He showed me a naked picture of my wife.

My psychiatrist told me I'm crazy. I told him "If you don't mind I'd like a second opinion." He said "Alright, you're ugly too!"

The full measure

"You had better come in" she said
hint of French
a plush manoeuvre
in that she excelled
no question

Porpoise grey eyes
discerning
drawn to action
you could feel the pulse
no disguise here

"Ice?" she asked
"Straight." I replied
She eyed me thoughtfully, gamefully..
"The full measure then.."
"The full measure" I replied

About this poem:
Blow going to work, think I'll just sit here and write pulp fiction, or is that pulp poetry :)

Perhaps a new genre...

Years Later

I have written about love, written about fate
I have written about war, written about hate
I have written about you, I have written about me
I have layed my heart out there for the world to see
I have bared my soul, never holding back
I have written about beauty and about my heart turning black
I have shared so much emotion, with so much depth
I have written about suicide when there was nothing left
And many years later, I write about truth
Of deception, tears, and letting go of you
I have written about dreams, and reoccurring nightmares
And many years later, they are still there
I have written about death, written about perfection
And what it is I see, when i see my reflection
A young boy with wild bewildering eyes
But like a flame doused with water, that too has died
I have learned from my mistakes, made a few more
It's like being trapped in a forever revolving door
I have put blood to pen, pen to paper
I have written about religion and forsaking the Maker
I have written with my tears falling down my cheek
I have written about being strong when I felt so weak
I have shared my fears with many, many others
But I know deep down inside, there's so much more to discover

Astronomy

As the moon Breaks through the cloudy skys,
bringing ghostly shapes around our eyes,
as the warmth of this summer nights breeze
rustles gently through the trees.

Through scattered clouds the heavens shimmer
as numerous diamonds begin to glimmer.
A garment of lace stretched from shore to shore,
a map of the heaven that we begin to explore.

A telescope sat upon the deck,
scans the heavens charting every speck.
Constalations seen passed Orions belt
looking to where only gods have dwelt.

Then gazing upon Saturns rings,
oh what wonders this contraption brings.
As with the lens that we gaze through,
an arrangement of mirrors give us a perfect view.

And as the sun begins to rise,
we lose the darkness before our eye.
And wait again for another day,
to once more see this grand display

The British Isles

I’ve travelled all over England
From Land’s End to Carlisle
From Lowestoft to St Leonards and
I’ve seen the dales and the Fylde

I’ve been to the Isle of Wight,
And Whitby has its charms
I’ve lived and worked in Blackpool
I’ve visited cities and farms.

I’ve seen those lovely Welsh valleys
And climbed their mountains tall,
I’ve climbed to the top of Snowdon
Just three times in all.

I've never been to Ireland
Though its beauty I have seen
But alas it was through the pages
Of my favourite magazine.

I’ve been to bonnie Scotland
From Jedburgh to Inverness,
But the days I spent in the Highland
Were the ones that I loved best.

We Brits have four lovely countries,
And there are parts that I hold dear;
But my heart is in the Highlands
Among the majestic deer.

Let's ride

..an' I said Billy, you gotta ride that 'cycle like God knows no more retribution for sinners,
out here it's oil, chain, and nil return on the dollar,
lean that baby over 'til you can see the angels in the dust.

And he stood there figurin' it for a while
scrapin' his boot in the hot tar
then he said
"Okay, let's ride"

Matisse at my Table

I had Matisse around for lunch
square white linen under a blue sky
I said "I rather fancied Woman with a Hat"
we watched the ants in the cracked bark of the plane tree
"it brought me joy" he said
he left
I thought life should be tangelo

River side

the spirit of love
true sense of search
an ocean of thoughts
which rights to part
stretching my hands
breathing my heart
my eyes on the path
a passion for strange love
who quench my thrust
over green river belt
a dream of loving soul
the spirit of love
