Enigma

Embedded image from another site

Cloaked in a mystery
A fascinating paradox
Reflections unorthodox
Spoken like a riddle
Meeting in the middle
Departing from the norm
Like an abstract art form
Softly hushed rarity
A welcoming oddity
Possessing genteel quality
Of an interesting anomaly
A most unusual quandary
Contemplating existence
Indefinitely like an eon
Acceptable and logical
As the “theory of relativity”
Fires of scientific creativity
Ordered and chronological
Propositions not yet known
From a Prince upon a throne
Investigated it may prove
Well founded and true
Conclusively accrued
Immeasurable in depth
Expansive in breadth
Without further adieu
Bring me secrets true
Enigma, you are mystery
Open up and teach me

Where for Art Thou Ragdolls

Embedded image from another site

Mamma, I had my rag dolls on my chair
Sitting in my room and now their gone!
‘Are you sure they were on the chair
They didn’t just vanish in thin air’!

Maybe this is what happened . . .

Raggedy Ann was playing the part
Of a Lady in love in a castle far away
Tired of waiting for her Lord to return
She wandered down the hall and did stray
Happening upon the dimly lit dining hall
She helped herself to a little sip of brandy
Feeling lost without her Raggedy Andy
Who is pretending to be the castle Lord
That comes to find her fighting to the death
With his mighty shield and Nerf sword

They love one another right Mamma?
‘yes, dear, but let me finish my drama’

Now, there are at least eight rag dolls
In this house, maybe more, I’m not sure
And I’ve seen them in every room
In every form of costume
They’ve been thrown on the floor
Hidden behind locked doors
Flopped on and under chairs
Found among your teddy bears
Left abandoned on the stairs

Crumpled in corners amongst the dust bunnies
Don’t laugh, this lost rag doll situation isn’t funny
Broom handles we had to use to retrieve
The rag dolls we found way under your beds
That fiasco rescue resulting in bumped heads
Why these rag dolls get lost is hard to conceive
And you know how many times I’ve tripped over them
Missing rag dolls are turning our house into mayhem

Admit it love, they’ve been all over this house
Been found in more places than a castle mouse
Their everywhere and they always go missing
There is no need to blame your sisters

So, the very next time your rag dolls are lost
Probably tomorrow or the next day, I’d say . . .
I want you to pretend that they are fair maidens
Held captive by an evil wizard in a far away castle
Peering out a window as they tug on a velvet tassel
In order to save them and rescue them again (and again)
You need to gather a formidable army and saddle your horses
Enlisting your sister Knights to join up with your search forces

Interruption . . .

What about Lord Raggedy Andy that comes to the rescue
Fighting to the death with his mighty shield and Nerf sword?

Pause …

Lord Raggedy Andy is a spy and was tried in King’s court for malicious lies
Honestly, he wouldn’t have been much help, remember, he has button eyes!

Well, his shield and his Nerf sword were not fit for battle being way too soft
Oh, by the way, I think I saw your rag dolls out in the barn, way up in the loft

Go look! And if you find your rag dolls you can have a piece of candy
I’ll be waiting here in the dining hall, just having a little sip of brandy

Ode to Online Dating

Ode to Online Dating Sites:

This entity we call dating "online"
Is designed to make us really feel "fine"
But in the larger reality
It may be a form of insanity
We all truly believe it's ok
So we practice everyday

Desiring to make that perfect connection
We have no phone to even hear a voice inflection
It takes a certain amount of conviction
To focus and contemplate our selection
No one wants any rejection only attention
So our minds begin the process of introspection
And that one beautiful exception

Are we holding out for perfection?
Or just dreading a disconnection!
This online dating is like an infection
At some point we may need an inoculation
But not before you complete that chemistry section!
So we know we're heading in the right direction

If we live too far
That may be deal breaker
We don't want to use our car
Because one of us could be a faker
I guess people do get together
In, I presume, all kinds of weather
It all seems so surreal

To believe a profile can appeal
To the one you seek for the rest of your life
Whether it be a husband or a wife
Here's to online dating - "cheers"
I am so glad we are all here!

Wiggle your mouse and contact someone special
It won't be that awful or too stressful
There's always "delete"
So you don't have to repeat
Any mistakes on your way to success
Let's all be very extra careful
And hope we get to that next level!

Just penning some thoughts about this "reality", the phenomena we call "online dating", what is it really? Something to ponder!

The Soul At Dusk

Paste the wings back on flies.
Laugh when the baby cries.
Sack in place, Ivory Tusks

Is this the Soul at Dusk.?
From apathy to empathy.
To love of you instead of me
Prevent war.
Live in peace.
Care for the land we lease.
This is the penitent soul at Dusk.

About this poem:
I thought of the soul on its expiation date
Is it content to seek the rewars it has coming or does itmake a last ditch effort to try and rectify what it has done wrong?

Tomfoolery

Embedded image from another site

Tom Fool circa sixteen fifty
This is so wild fandango nifty
Tomfoolery is to crazy behavior like
Shenanigans is to a drunken sailor
Like high jinks is to a drinking game
Of irrefutable Highland Scottish fame
Roughhousing will give a crazy spin
To drunken gambling and a dollar grin

Buffoonery orders a round of drinks
Messing with your mind me thinks
Jack and Jill are still missing links
Horse playing and tumbling down
Trying to find a broken crown
With a little dicking around

Malarkey involving secret codes
Mischief and clownery explodes
There’s that monkey business
We’ll catch you later gator
Trifling gleefully layer by layer
Huge on spells and magic wands
Gotcha! Dear John, Jon, or Juan

Tomfoolery can go way beyond
Normal everyday common insanity
However, it should always remain
Sharp as a razor (more on this later)
With comic fall down slapstick
Added generously for kicks

Empowered drama kings (lol)

Once upon a time I used to snivel
I'd even swivel with a snivel
But the mayor of Snivelsville called
a town meeting
'Hark unto me O thou snivelers of
Snivelsville.'
'Cast thy snot rags to the wind..'
'Let not thy drama torn hairy chest
find thee weeping for that is sin'
Gird up your loins and talk back to
her
Or she'll enslave you to the chinny
chin chin'
'Don't pee pee your pants on her mothers
porch for surely you'll mop it up'
'You are snivelistically out of touch
As you hug and kiss your rubber duck'
Lol

Poets and Coffee

Embedded image from another site

Poetry reading first thing in the morning
Goes perfectly with a nice hot cup of coffee
Nothing is more beautiful than this dark elixir
Mated with a little sugar and light cream mixer
As it swirls in your cup and revs up your cells
You begin to contemplate as if under a spell
From that bitter little bean that reins so supreme
This umber dark brew is a drug-induced dream

Reading words brought to life by your poet friends
Taking you on life’s tours like video camera lens
Imprinting indelible pictures delivered by their pens
As you read and sip savoring the words they spin
Of visions their painting from thoughts deep within

Ah, coffee, some call it cafe’, still some say Cuppa
I just call it sweetly every morning “come to mamma”
Now I’m thinking about how many poets the world over
Are sipping their brew and writing their little hearts out
Percolating on those dark alluring coffee beans no doubt
Climbing to such creative heights with deep soulful minds
Coffee and poetry are synchronistically aligned

Time for another wee cup, as some call it a “cup of Joe”
My secret blow of magical beans that sets my mind aglow
Allowing me to experience the depths my thoughts show
Of the pageantry that poetry delivers like a sinful gateau
The only thing missing in this picture is my fabulous beau
If my coffee would only help me write him into existence
How awesome, yes, the ultimate pièce de résistance

Amish slaughter

Evil struck the Amish folk
Invading schoolhouse space.
Killing all inside, leaving not a trace
What was said but "let it go let them have their spoils
We must do our planting And multiply our toil."
For those who lost a child
Their grief is far from mild.
The little arms that held them close
Are now far away
And tears are shed in secret
Hoping heir at play.
But evil sits in comfort,
Its evil deeds condoned.
It must no be allowed
to run ramped where it roams
Those we love are sacred
They must treated so
To do them right is extreme might
Weshould not let it go.
The Amish should have made a stand
And taken things in hand
We never asked for this
It Was just allowed in.
what is that we fear,
A no win game
Or do we really want what we might gain.
If its war so let it be
Letting evil reign is not thinking free

Moments by the Sea

For my Son Osvle, who, at three, helped me make a necklace out of sea-weed at the shore.
He placed it around my neck and I thought:

"Little one upon the shore,
tomato trunks, butter hair,
toddle on the moving sand.
Snatch a seagull if you can.
Let your ear kiss the shell
for within its walls,
the ageless sea you'll hear.
Peek at chubby prints your feet have made
like symbols left by running Wren.
Little one upon the shore
look to sea and feel the lore
of ancient tales and caverns deep
where dragons round their rooms do creep.
See the Clipper stuffed with wind?
It sails beyond where the land does end.
Feel how sleek the Ocean's weed?
A necklace made for you and me.
Little one upon the shore
hoard these treasures evermore.
For the future drags a heavy wind,
hiring ambush as its friend."

Writing Visions

When I close my eyes
I begin to clearly see
Visions real not by chance
As I fall into a deep trance
Of memories I hold
The stories I’ve told
Places I’ve been
All that is seen
People I know
Sets me aglow
I hold them deep inside
Within my heart and soul
Protected like a document
This precious content
Filled with sentimental style
Visions are very secret files
Feelings that intertwine
Subtly in my mind
No delineating line
Pen in hand forced to see
Emotions deep inside me
Experiences safely stored
Completely explored
Sometimes hard to understand
Pulling them up by demand
Deliberating nothing offhand
Like viewing a bulletin board
These colorful visions record
Beautifully in one accord
Feelings that can’t be ignored
Lovingly poured out
Calm restored
Adored
