Burr

A single snowflake drifts to the ground
As a Robin sings her melody
She wraps her feathered arms around
Her fledglings nesting in a tree

A rabbit sees the tiny flake
As she forages with her brood
Soon it will be time to hibernate
And no time to search for food

The geese prepare their goslings
For the long flight heading south
A mama gander counts her chicks
With grass hanging from her mouth

The bears play with their cubs
On their last day outside
With bellies filled and fur well thickened
Into their cave they stride

Yes winter is surely almost here
The cold wind has started blowing
Make sure you prepare as animals do
For soon it will be snowing.

~You’ll never know~

I may be lonely alone all the time
I may be crying myself to sleep at night
I may be thinking of you wherever I go
But if this is true you’ll never know

I go to work and make it through my day
I don’t hang with the crowd; I have no desire to play
I’ll listen to my music some fast and some are slow
But if I am missing you you’ll never know

I’ve tried to get over it, the memory of you
There really is nothing for me to hold on to
You left the movie before the end of the show
But if that hurt me you’ll never know

We shared some good times the best I ever had
Recalling those memories always make me sad
These mixed emotions make my head spin to and fro
I want you back with me but you’ll never know

I ask myself every day why did you have to go?
If I was bolder I'd tell you so
I need you in my life your sunshine helps me grow
Yes we can make it right but you’ll never know.

If I could change the world

If I could change the world there’d be peace and harmony
No one would be homeless. No one would be hungry
I would stop all the wars and bring our troops back in
The only reason to go overseas would be to give other’s life again

The children will be our future and there would be no hate
Love would flourish freely because we’ll all have faith
And no one from nowhere could tell us that we’re wrong
Because we will only hear a living song

If I could change the world there’d be no need for guns
For any animosity would vanish ‘cause peace has won
No one would go out stealing or killing to stay alive
For we would pool all our resources to help everyone survive

No race except being human would be on our minds
We’d focus on our planet and leave racism behind
The trees would be replanted. The food would begin to grow
Because chemicals won’t be around to poison the earth no more

Our children are our future. Don’t bring them up to hate
Teach them the values of life and all should participate
Don’t let our past mistakes be the burdens that they bare
Teach them to love honor respect and care

If I could change the world there’d be peace and harmony
Love would be as abundant as the sum of all the seas
With all of us working together all of this could be
And all nations around the world will be free

MIRROR MIRROR ON THE WALL

I look in the mirror and what do I see
Surely that image cannot be me
My eyes are still blue and my hair is still blonde
Of those little wrinkles I'm not very fond
Oh mirror mirror on the wall
Tell me my looks are not fading at all
Lie to me loudly and make be believe
I'm not getting older I've nothing to grieve
I think what I'll do is just turn out the light
Oh, how wonderful I look - everything's alright!

IS SILENCE A SOUND??

The house is so silent, no men, no kids, no pets
Four walls to listen to the sound of my regrets
My memories they linger when I close my eyes
Those wonderful days when I was so wise
The cry of a baby, the sound of the door
The cats, the dogs, the children
Running round the floor
All of them gone now, the house is so still
I turn up the music the silence to kill
My friends and my lovers no longer around
I look at the phone it ne'er makes a sound
But all is not lost from my hopes and my dreams
I sometimes imagine some magical schemes
Of places to go to and great food to eat
Of wonderful lovers and people to meet
So silence abounds but for only a while
And if I try very hard I can muster a smile
Is silence a sound or a feeling inside?
Tell me, I'll listen, with my eyes open wide.....

I'm just a memory..

I'm just a
memory..
Never thought of
it that way
Just an old tin can
blowin' in the wind
Little else to
say
Mabey I'll find my
tomorrow in some
yesterdays old
news
This memory thing
might just work out
And I'll forget to
sing the blues~

My heart

My heart may slumber in
The shadows at times
Frail man that I am
My courage may be tossed
By fearful winds
My understanding dim
But smiles were painted before
The foundation of the world and
Found my cheek in the shadows
Now on eagles wings I soar the
Heavens, through my God and
His heavenly meadow..

Walk into eternity

Walk into Eternity
Adorned with immortality
Stripped of flesh and bone
This primitive reality
Mind dimensions unknown
Spirit transcending time
Consciousness awakening from
itself
To a world beyond sublime
Infinity is but a moment, within
forever it is bound
Eternity is but a broken clock..
The only game in town-

When I depart

She held the curtain to
her cheek not yet ready
for a tear
It would take alot to sadden
that face for she had never
known a fear
But I drove away just the same
with a regret or two of my own
She just didn't know how many
nights she'd be sobbing by the
phone
'What was that spirit he brought
she pondered on a tear stained
pillow..?'
'With him I felt alive again like
a bluejay singing to a weeping
willow..'
How does she count the days when
her silver pot no longer has it's shine?
She counts all as death in the terrible
truth she'd lost one of a kind

Embers

The little glow that remains
Dances warm in my heart
Far from the fire hence it came
Such as only love maintains
Ignited from the start
Caught in the light of the flame
Slowly over time help explains
Celestial stars to chart
Becoming one and the same
Spiraling across many domains
Never to come apart
Straight and true as Cupid’s aim
