Celestial Love in a Bottle (An Easter Poem)

Tell me how long my love be cast away
Drifting hopeless in a foresaken sea
Tossed one day into the windy sea spray
Could feel utter lonely to this degree

No tides rolling back to the shores of hope
Without a chart or stars to guide my night
No rudder or compass to help me cope
Wound like a message in a bottle tight

Only glass that surrounds my fragile heart
Protects secrets written inside of it
Will be perished and smashed on rocks apart
Or gently washed on sands my Holy writ

Love perhaps lost so long ago in time
Just waiting to be found on shores sublime

About this poem:
I'm just floating an idea of 'celestial love' based on a premise we have only one 'soul mate' for all eternity which makes finding them an even more daunting search. Happy Easter everybody!

Angels And Dinosaurs

Swoop down come you all on your golden wings
Beckonning my pleas for your safety brings
Shining green eyes and a lizard tongue sings
With a shrilling voice from the King of Kings

No greater raptor on earth can compare
For only your fossils in earth lie bare
Waiting once again for the truth do dare
For all who knows your mystery beware

Perchance angelic image was all wrong
Art and form never human all along
In our hearts we do fear where you belong
When so much your legend became our song

Once upon a time before we humans
You were Glory, Alleluia, Amen

About this poem:
A fantasy sonnet about dinosaurs being 'true angels' once living on our planet and down through the ages we mortals have arose but are still waiting their return. It's kind of a strange poem even for my standards not to take anything away from Botticelli who so inspires me with his "Birth of Venus", but maybe he got it all wrong?? :))

A sonnet to love.

Within the silence of my heart,
lost verdant spring my vision greet,
though youth and age now leagues apart,
love joyous years still pulsating beat,
forever the smile upon your face,
the blush of love still living there,
full softer than all starlights grace,
once golden tones thy then flaxen hair,
a beauty that Greek Gods did seek,
elegance of form, pure, supreme,
soft as the flush upon your cheek,
with subtle hues lingering supreme

that, callous time may never slay,
as springs dear abiding vision stay.

Resounds My Heart (sonnet)

Resounds my heart with passion
as I gaze deep into your eyes
and we sink onto the cushions
and rapture overtakes our cries

Slowly the earth stops its spinning
drifting off in each others arms
to awake aroused and moaning
with his love my heart he disarms

Whispering sweet nothings to me
that night I will always recall
though the image gets all filmy
this true love will always stand tall

The night we met was my windfall
my heart he now holds in his thrall

Music Abounds (sonnet)

Listen now carefully, what do you hear?
sounds abound as you tune in to listen
universe of noise fills the stratosphere
birds singing, rustling leaves in transition

Blades of grass crackle sounding like gun fire
the trickle of the brook harmonious
I settle down by the roaring campfire
drinking in the sounds most melodious

As magically they blend together
creating music so soulful to hear
playing perfectly keeping in meter
in the background reed pipes clamour come here

Music around us abounds all the time
listen to it play enjoy the downtime

Her Portrait

Memories captured in an old parlor portrait
Immortality found a beautiful face
Swirling brushstrokes from a Master’s palette
For everywhere you look is divine grace

Crowning statement of love and devotion
Carefully framed gilded ornate plaster
Beauty the subject of much commotion
With much respect still given the Master

Such as the fine details found in her eyes
The still subtle shades of light through her hair
Features as fresh as the day its paint dries
Anything made today even compare

Esoteric beauty still shines our souls
More meaningful than all the ancient scrolls

She Really Rocks

Something casual in the way she walks
Across the street stridden in slim blue jeans
With her new fry boots on she really rocks
Not that I gaze and gawk by any means

How her long brown hair flutters in the breeze
Those pretty eyes that sparkle with her smile
Making me feel all wobbly in the knees
Hiding a sly grin which doesn’t beguile

What a poor pounding heart skippin’ a beat
Perhaps not too cool as I look around
And trying my hardest to keep my feet
Rising and floating too high off the ground

For girls knowin’ natural history
Attracting a man ain’t no mystery

Falling In Love

Dancing in his arms heart beating so fast
feelings flood through me as he holds me close
is he the one that in dreams was forecast?
I act cool, he smiles knowing its a pose

I smile back as he spins me round and round
we sit and talk the way new lovers do
to each other glad this love we have found
happiness to both of us long overdue

So in love although we recently met
our life's before us laid at our feet
The more we are together the less I fret
when he kisses me it feels oh so sweet

Passion rising overtaking us both
to each other turning pledging a troth

dedicated to my very best friend Lorraine and her new chap gl in your new relationship

A LOVE SONNET

Roses are flowering her in Brittany,
like as a Nun's God given care,
cloistered robed in unsung divinity,
flourish in its soft fragrant air,
far from Winter's deep untrodden snow,
in unearthly ways weaves her spell,
loves quietude, like bounteous rivers flow
revive the spirit more than words can tell,
thus with thee here and with my heart,
the Rose's perfume shall around us play,
intoxicate the hours of our hand held day,
where silence sweet, soft thoughts impart,

Embrace with me this earthly care,
words but vain where love is rare.

About this poem:
The roses have just started to bloom here in my lovely garden, they are the harbinger of love, how better to extol them, than a sonnet.

Love’s Many Faces

Our love has endured its share of sorrows,
the foolish mistakes...the ache of regret.
We aimed our dreams toward each bright tomorrow,
vowing forever, to never forget.

With each anguished tear we have shed for love,
we have grown and changed in such diverse ways.
Time doles truths we have long been afraid of,
while love succumbs to the old, worn cliches.

The years have well proved what we always knew;
I live in your heart, as you live in mine.
Wherever you go, whatever you do,
this love will not fade with the trials of time.

The past will not steal our dreams as before...
We forgive, we let go...we love all the more!
