How can such mere words bring forth such great love
To take away thy darkness and bring light
Telleth me thy secret where I may love
It seems I search but love is out of sight
The land seems barren and vast but I seek
There be the hills that form one with the sky
I search I pray I hope I continue
But maybe this thing called love is a lie
The skies have opened pouring out their rain
Upon my heart that is barely beating
I see you searching looking far away
Then our paths cross for that time so fleeting
My world became alive with your love
Once more rainbows colored sky up above

About this poem:
Power went out so sat in the dark on this rainy night and did some scribbling. This is what I came up with.

Countess ways your hair falls across your face
Covers briefly my gaze into your eyes
The warmth of your touch in my sweet embrace
Feels like sun parting ‘tween clouds in the skies
Shimmerin’ lips glossed watermelon red
Touch each nerve connected into my brain
Lovely and wet as blooms a flower bed
Shining deeper and deeper in the rain
Casting a light inside a soul once so dark
Dancing spirits in your current swirling
Going round and round in some distant arc
With no beginning or end is twirling
For only time spinning faster than light
Can break apart what we hold very tight

Love is just like a dance

Where sands come together at your ledges
Searching what washes on shores of treasure
Be a kiss which bumps along the edges
A place for where our love makes such pleasure
Us adrift in a tide of tranquil seas
Floating together we are meant to be
Our sails filled with the wind of offshore breeze
Searching for emerald coves with palm trees
Happen upon an island of delight
We anchor our ship inside your favor
A harbor of love all sweetness and light
Anyone whoever seeks will savor
Forever lost in time will ever find
For the sheer beauty of love be entwined

You captured me turning my life to bliss
Raining down upon me euphoria
Caressing my soul with warmth from your kiss
Turning the cold of winter to summer
Removing my fears as you make us one
Your presence surrounding me comforting
I relax accepting you, you have won
My state of being now between heavens
Wishing to stay in this time for all time
To ride upon the wings of nothingness
No thought no dreams only now in my mind
Waves rocking as in a sweet lullaby
Slowly the tides recede and I must go
Life will return as I leave this I know

About this poem:
It is fun to take something we love like the ocean and turn it into so much more with just the mere wording. Thank you for accompying me on my beach trip

She walked with grace through grassy meadows
pausing to smell the sensual fragrance
watching the rabbits dart down their barrows
their white tails flashing creating a drama
Azure skies blazing, making perfect the day
she laid in the grass. dreaming of her lover
handsome and very tall he was her mainstay
he set her alight making everything brighter
She remembered the way they spun around
as they danced together through the night
gay garlands hanging down they were spell bound
silhouetted in the dazzling firelight
That perfect night when all the world stood still
their last dance that night was a quadrille

Just unfinished business calling my name
I would love to lay by your side but can't
It would be so futile laying in vain
An empty glass just a hollow vessel
Wondered what was wrong why love could not be
A feeling of incomplete just empty
Gnawing of the heart wanting to be free
Unfinished business refused to let go
Mistaking the wanting to be for love
Then I knew it was unfinished business
The thing I craved for, the thing I thought of
Sad to see you go but I must let you
Life's road is not always what you desire
Sometimes it adds a few logs to the fire

Hands thrust in pockets you walk and mutter
Thoughts alleyways of unwanted clutter
Watches rather looking at the nutter
Squinting two wild cats across the gutter
For all wrongs in life become the weeper
Cry o’er some scraps boilin’ in a steeper
For not mercy of the market keeper
Safe from clutches of the dark grim reaper
Sadness that’s lost in the slums and ghettos
Inspired in such classical libretto
Pours out like the smoothest amaretto
Sung an opera of such fine falsetto
Homeless and wandering drifting afloat
In a turbulent sea so sails your boat

About this poem:
Trying to fathom the deepest sense of despair of those who have no place to call home.

Words flowing as sweet wine to crystal flute
Lips caressing sweetest fruit from the vine
All sense of conversation seems so moot
Grapes turning into raisins before eyes
Is it the destination where dreams die
A place where clouds form to hold mighty rein
A place where dignity can hold head high
Sometimes victory is not a pleasure
Words no longer needed all has been placed
Silence echoing as if loud thunder
Slowly out of the mist rises the erased
And what was is no longer, nor will be
Like a birth of a new innocent life
Forming union of devil and his wife

They had prayed for a change to all their gods
Side by side they waited good holding bad
Not knowing which God would answer their cries
Not treasuring what they already had
A contradiction of one another
They had called back an abomination
A power so strong without no end
Essence without permanent foundation
Good verse evil within one entity
Each knowing but willing to take the chance
Releasing twilight upon barren days
Where evil and good will soon bare romance
Mere mortals holding only to release
The beginning of their Armageddon

Fields of glory rolling outside my window
Bodies of bronze by suns caressing warmth
One body my body already knows
He takes me to the stars and the heavens
Dreams aspire reaching for the tallest skies
Fields of glory reaching for suns desire
To quench the thirst then reap the crops of lies
Tend the fields walk away empty handed
There's a wolf out amongst the laden sheep
Blood upon hands of proclaimed innocence
Kill them all where the blood has surely seeped
No clean hands remain to the unaware
Jealousy a motive for killing fields
You reap what you sow, your harvest will yield
