Derek Chauvin to be sentenced today.

Black privilege ????? Wow ! You simply don't understand that the opposite is true and has been true for many decades.
As far as the murders that happened during protests (some of which were of blacks), they took place AFTER the George Floyd murder. Their trials will come.

Derek Chauvin to be sentenced today.

From the NY Times;

With good behavior, he is eligible for parole in 15 years.

Derek Chauvin to be sentenced today.

Shame on those, who condone 2nd degree murder of someone that did not commit murder, nor attempt to murder the people who participated in that murder. scold

RE: Now What?

Ridiculous, but funny. laugh

RE: Miami apartment building collapsed...

I saw this on the news. I instantly thought of you, and remembered you said, that you lived in a gated community (not a high rise). Nonetheless, I'm glad you weren't visiting someone there at the time of it's collapse. Could it have been a sinkhole that initiated the collapse, or was it likely shoddy construction ?

RE: Oldest Virus In History Still Going Strong...Who's Next??

I knew it ! But, she was so gorgeous and good in bed, that I did it anyway. banana tongue

RE: Mango... another season!

Darn rob, I thought you had news of a future mango power grid. laugh

Why don't you plant one Fay ?

RE: Mango... another season!

Yum ! I love mangoes. I just bought 8 of them and had one tonight.

RE: Called in for vaccination!

Boh - you have absolutely no idea what you are discussing. The mRNA codes for the viral anchor protein. The immune response is to that protein, not the RNA. It sees the viral protein as foreign, not the viral mRNA. The mRNA is eventually degraded, as is the viral protein. You do not retain the mRNA. Indeed, you do not retain your own mRNA. That is also degraded and made over & over again, as needed because that IS part of your DNA. You are not genetically modified.
Since you are not genetically modified, you don't actually make the viral mRNA, unless you get infected by the virus (i.e. you do not get vaccinated) . If you are vaccinated (or have been infected with the virus), the next time the viral protein is detected in the body, there is a faster more proficient response to that viral protein. Immunizations just prime the immune systems to have a more rapid and more efficient immune response upon detecting the viral protein a subsequent time. They do not genetically modify you.

I am truly sore.

awwww. Very sweet of you to say so. hug

I am truly sore.

That message is not only for you, but everyone.

I am truly sore.

MrB - don't be envious, be active. No matter what shape you are in now, find some aerobic activity that you enjoy. It can be riding a bike, swimming, jogging, skating, rollerblading, tennis, baseball, voleyball, rowing a boat, or even walking.
Start slowly and just add a tiny bit more each session. Keep a written record of what you did each time, so you can witness how much you improve over a long time.
Do something to improve your health at least 3 times a week. Again, start very slow and
add a little bit more each time. If you do that, after a year, you will be in much better shape and it will never be more than you can handle.

The mistake most people make, is that they try to go all out in the beginning. They get sore and they dread doing it again. People get out of shape slowly over time and should get in shape slowly by challenging themselves just a tiny bit more each time.

I am truly sore.

Thanks. I feel fitness is very important for health and health is crucial.

P.S. I WOULD get into ice to save my life, but it might take that to do so.

P.S. 2 I am no longer sore. Drinking water and a hot shower eased it tremendously.
Plus having dinner didn't hurt either.

RE: Called in for vaccination!

That's too bad. You just moved there and seemed happy there.

I am truly sore.

Also, breathing in a higher concentration of oxygen can help. But, I don't have any tanks of that.

I am truly sore.

I think a hot shower might relax me better. No freezing cold water for me. scold

I am truly sore.

A bed of rice ?? Are you trying to relax me, or stirfry me ? laugh

RE: It’s Been Awhile

My belated condolences on your loss.
I'm sure that he would want you to carry on, and enjoy your life.
Unfortunately it is certainly temporary.
Enjoy it, while you have the opportunity to do so.

RE: Emerson, Lake and Palmer...

Perhaps being such a "lucky man", he lived a very long life, before that ending. grin

RE: Emerson, Lake and Palmer...

A bit of trivia for you. Greg Lake wrote the song Lucky Man, when he was 12 years old.
It was the first song he ever wrote.

RE: Emerson, Lake and Palmer...

Yes, I totally agree with you.

RE: Craaaack... aka I got stoned somewhere!

C - At this point, I am not suggesting that you attempt to fix the windshield yourself.
But rather, to attempt to slow the progress of the crack for the time necessary to get the appropriate replacement.

Yeah, I remember seeing that UV light glue being sold on TV late at night.

Ed - There's nothing wrong with being able to do multiple things.

RE: Craaaack... aka I got stoned somewhere!

I wonder if a drop of Crazy Glue at both ends of the crack will help slow it's progress in growing.
If it were me, I'd give it a try. I believe that is what they use to repair cracks in windshields.
They drill a small hole in the glass and fill the crack with Crazy Glue. Of course, they would never let you know what the liquid they use is.
But, all long time ago, I looked at an "opportunity" to become one of the guys,
who goes around repairing windshields and I felt what it was.

Here's a $10 kit, that uses a "resin" to repair the chip with use of a syringe.

Here's a better, more thorough video;

RE: Teaching

Obviously, you've never heard of a school of fish. laugh

RE: Teaching

Yes, how dare they teach them, in of all places, a school. laugh
It's much better, that they learn it on a street corner, or from their pals, who know about as much as they do. laugh
