Same here - last night booked teo more flights so between us we have the next SIX flights booked and paid for........... I go out to visit her later this month and in June and in July and she's coming out here in April and in May and in August!
Winston Churchill - some people are still alive who remember him..........
This is one thing that Winston Churchill said about Capitalism:
"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries."
Winston Churchill
It has been considered 'politically correct' to knock people from the past for their many weaknesses; Winston Churchill had many but was a great wartime leader if a failure in the peace that followed.
We need to create wealth to share it - sharing the fruits of socialsim is a dry cake to eat........... how should we best create wealth and then share it?
Is the desire to create wealth a false God?
Should we be happy to live in relative poverty compared to the 'high' standards many of us in the 'west' enjoy now provided most of our basic needs are met?
Are environment harming polluting huge state (i.e. Communist) factories spewing out dangerous gases with little respect for the health and safety needs of workers better than producing 'clean' nuclear energy to feel our false nergy needs as consumers in our crazy wasteful lives in the west?
Is it really better to commute in cars hundreds of miles to work and back than live a poor rural life in ignorance?
What do we really want and value in life?
What system gives us the best chance of realising our dreams?
Very good - all kids who say they hate Mathematics should be taught this way and then their imaginations will expand and they'll soon realise that Mathematics isn't really such a dry subject at all and algebra can be about more things than mere apples and bananas!
But then it gets slightly more difficult once you introduce decimals and you have to have dirty tree dirty tree per hundred dirty trees recurring to get a turd....... I think it might take a lot more drawing!
You live in the states - 'you' stole your land from the native inhabitants....... go home to wherever you come from!
Listen - possession is 9/10ths of the law and people have always taken land either by occupying it first and then excluding it from others or by force.
Nobody has the moral high ground on land ownership - God might have backed the tribe of Israel in the Old Testament but where does it say anywhere that mankind has the right to own land or take it away from anybody else?
We, as a human race, decide we need land for our own uses and then take it - we are all guilty............. maybe you feel the land should be given back to the Roman Empire or whoever had it before them............ oh, maybe the Jews! OMG! How can the Jews have stolen the land if it was their land before they stole it from whoever had stolen it before?
Get real!
Possession is 9/10th of the law - if you don't believe that then 99.99999% of Americans should leave the USA immediately!
Silly man! Didn't you know that the Palestinians buy some nice weapons from the USA?
Some, but not all of it, goes back to the US defence industry which pays taxes and so you get a rebate too!
It's all a nice circle - the money goes out.... some trickles back in and everybody is happy... what more do you want?
Conspiracy theory is that Israel bombed Gaza just to get a cut in the nice reconstruction projects.
It's all very sad............... it is IMPOSSIBLE for UN agencies to act in Gaza without dealing with Hamas - aid agencies are politically impartial but HAVE TO deal with whoever is in charge; so there is always going to be a problem distrubting aid and making sure that money is spent in the manner to which it was intended.
I agree......... every kid should have a few minutes to contemplate what evil punishment their parent(s) should suffer for the contents of their lunch box!
Good luck.... and at least you've got fresh eggs of your own to eat when it gets so bad for the rest of us that we'll need a wheelbarrow of worthless notes to buy a loaf of bread!
I've never heard or seen the guy, but I found what he had to write very interesting and can't help but admire his clear thinking and his opinions on what makes a good business.
There were even a few relevant facts that affect me - and they have helped me clarify my strategy for the future..........in these times it is hard to make a plan work, but not having a plan at all is worse!
I think I read somewhere, no sources mentioned, that to apologise to a woman is either the birth of a man or the death of a boy...............(actually I just made that up - but I reckon you're 'dead' anyway once you admit a woman is right!)
'CS said I could only have one id......but I have three 'cos I'm the holy trinity! I'm the father and I'm also the son.... and in this here place I'm the spirit of fun!'
This man made a lot of money, but he writes very lucidly without loads of financial goobbledy-gook........ and explains fairly complex issues in simple to understand English.
I enjoyed reading his report to his shareholders dated 27th February 2009 - not all 'doom and gloom' but sensible, positive stuff in these hard financial times!
Here's the link if anybody is interested in the second oldest profession - making money!
