The only experience most of us have of the Chinese culture here is in our local Chinese takeaway restaurant and we tend to know what we want by its number on the menu whereas you have gone to the trouble of learning English!
And the truth is that it's not proper Chinese food. You wouldn't eat the rubbish that we eat!
For laptops, Dell is cheap and chearful.It's like buying a Ford car. There's plenty about and parts aree cheap.
Normally I don't recomend them as they're not the best for upgrading later but I'm assuming you're not needing any heavy mathematics or gaming or the like.
As has been said, free antivirus such as AVG or Avast is as good as anything. Norton seems to slow the system down too! As for disc capacity....well it's a laptop....so get as much disc size and RAM size as you can get for as little money as you can get.
And you can pick up external USB hard drives cheaply enough, should you need more space.
You're right of course but never forget you have as much right to be here as anybody else and to use the site as you see fit.
I don't know which threads your talking about but providing you're not flirting during a thread about drowning fluffy kittens or mugging old ladies, I don't see the problem!
