I Always use head set! We still have Winter roads, icy´. It could be a disaster trying to text messaging while driving on icy roads!

When Sweden lost Finland, the border between Sweden and Finland split relatives. There are lots of people, especially older, who still speak Finnish in northern Sweden today. In general they don't speak so much Swedish in northern Finland. Yes, most people speak English today, except for older people. I know Finland quite well, since I've relatives on the both side of the border. I'm also fluent in Finnish!

You'd better not tell it someone who lives in Helsinki! Yes, Åbo was in deed the capital of Finland, while it was a part of Sweden.

Since you know our history, you also know Sweden and Finland has a mutual history.

From the 12th until the start of the 19th century, Finland was a part of Sweden. It then became an autonomous Grand Duchy within the Russian Empire until the Russian Revolution.

Sweden was a "war" nation until it lost Finland 1809. Sweden was involved in The Thirty Years' War (1618–1648), which was a series of wars principally fought in Central Europe, involving most of the countries of Europe. It was one of the longest and most destructive conflicts in European history, and one of the longest continuous wars in modern history.

I've read some of the threads and it amazes me how much some of the "ex brits" hates immigrants in UK!

In other words, their voices don't count, since they have chosen to leave UK!



We have a monarchy in Sweden too, but a king. Many people here don't think a monarchy have a place in a modern society. Many people think our king is quite fun to follow, since he's not the brightest of all stars.
