I "understand" quite a few, but they are generally people that I have actually met. As for others, I wouldn't even attempt to understand them as they constantly change their tune to suit the piper
Captain Philips, simply because Tom Hanks is in it and I always enjoy his movies. I haven't been to the cinema for years but I've planned this for October 31st so that I won't have to answer the door 527 times to kids doing "trick or treat"
What's the last novel you read? (I'm looking for ideas)

Will you please take a long walk off a short pier so that we don't have to suffer your inane, childish, stomach churning, hijack of the threads any longer
A sensible person would probably say something like a bottle of sunscreen, a can of red bull (gives you wings ya know) and a packet of peanuts (the paupers diet)....
Life's too short to be sensible so I'll have a bottle of bacardi, a can of coke and a packet of silk cut purple please
I agree totally. What I don't understand is with a country as small as ours, why are there so many different dialects?
I come from a Gaelteacht area and am ashamed to say I don't speak Irish. I've picked up some words and phrases over the years but one of these years I'll go to our Irish college and learn it properly, along side the Americans, Germans, Italians, Japanese, Belgians etc etc etc....
There are peeps on here with amazing memories/recall...I'm not one of them, I generally take people as I find them, although long winded posts with no punctuation do my head in
That would be the type of man/shopping I'm talking about
Don't get me wrong, when it comes to shoes and handbags, I can shop for Ireland, but when it's a practical, mechanical type of thingy....look it up online, find out where it is, go get it, done!!!!
Oh, and I have met a man that had to walk up and down every single aisle in a grocery store....just in case
Mojácar....I tend to stay away from the touristy areas whenever possible but this was a last minute, not to be missed deal
My sisters had all been there the previous year and raved about it, and the neighbouring village (I can't remember it's name), but it just didn't do it for me....
I generally need to be by the coast, but with Spain, I think I need to hit the mountains?
I haven't read back over any of the replies on this thread but I think I will be the first to say "Song for a Raggy Boy"
This falls into the most disturbing film I have ever seen, to the point that I couldn't eat my Malteasers and had to go for a stiff drink afterwards....
I've only ever holidayed in Spain once and hated every single second of it, hence, I am reticent to go back and give it a second chance....
The first time I went to Portugal was to Albufeira and I hated the town, but loved the people and the culture so I went back again to Alvor and fell in love with the place instantly
RE: OK do you 'understand' anyone on the forums in the years you spent here??
