A newer word beginning with last letter of the previous:

I will take it to mean a word new to CS; one never used before...ok
Here's one for all the 'wrong-wing' political con-tards that insist on calling themselves "right wing":

RE: Is the Earth Flat?

Flat Earth beliefs and the numerous Flat Earth societies are as old as the sixth cent. starting with "Cosmos", A Greek monk author of a book called Christian Topography, refuting the "false and heathen idea that the earth is a sphere. His book was proof that it is a rectangle plane arched over by the firmament which separates us from heaven. The first known society believing this dribble latched on to the geocentric cosmology of Ptolemy and was rather popular until the 16th century when Copernicus questioned the whole theory, by proposing the idea that the earth is a planet orbiting the sun. He was not very assertive. His preface to his book emphasized that the heliocentric system was merely a hypothesis and avoided all controversy by dying on the day his book was published. Really bad timing. Copernicus derived his theories from his esoteric studies of Pythagorean traditions; his successor, Galileo, challenged all flat earth believers to scientific experiments. It soon proved pointless to argue the point because far too many believed in a literal translation of the Old Testament; never mind that heliocentricism was accepted by the Inquisition and finally triumphed with the cosmological system of Sir Issac Newton. While the Church found that it could live with the roundish earth idea, many of the lay people could not and would not.
The OT said that the four corners of the earth and pillars where its foundations; the Bible cannot be wrong!
This image has been an almost British preserve by such figures as the famous / infamous person of the British Israelite belief, a Mr. Hine. Ancient Israel was actually Great Britain and ancient Jerusalem was at the centre of the rectangular plane afloat in the oceans of the cosmos... A Mr. Samuel B. Rowbotham was another and made many experiments proving the earth was flat with a lot of publicity. His life's work was published as Zetenic Astronomy which ran to 430 pages and still remains as the standard authority proving the earth is flat.
Another was William Carpenter who was forced to migrate to the US where he continued to agitate for a flat earth theory. He also became a well known figure on the dingy streets of Baltimore, Maryland, loitering outside schools and handing out cheap pamphlets and arguing with people...Then there was the case of Elizabeth Anne Mould Williams, aka, Lady Blount. She put all flat earth cranks to shame and really deserves an entire book on her extremely bizarre belief. Or one may try to Google her.

I'll add 3 more: Bullwinkle, Boris and his moll, Natasha ...the modern ones all belong in the garbage bin.

RE: looking live in abroad

RE: looking live in abroad

My best advice for those that can't speak, write or even spell coherent English is to enrol in an English language course first. After some form of testing ,and periodical exams and graduation of some sort, they revise and update their abstract/curriculum vitae/ resume. Perhaps it will be coherent. A brand is easy to find but employment abroad is not; one should decide which they prefer.
Canada seems to have quite sufficient numbers of illeterates already that are not able to even fill open jobs at many burger chains and many foreign students are brought in to take the jobs. Don't expect much at all...

RE: Cryogenics .

The above you write about is the one at or near Spitzbergen archipelago, Norway. The cost of only 9 million US sounds far too cheap; have you tried to Google the costs of building the facility?????
This was set up in an old abandoned coal mine and only converted to the frozen seed bank between 2006-08.
The largest "frozen zoo" is at the San Diego Zoo Conservation facility; the Frozen Ark project is in England . So far only less than a dozen frozen genetic material places exist, mostly around Europe with one in Bahrain or the UAE for species indigenous to that area only.
Preserve brains only?? Only if virus free....can you imagine reviving a politicians brain...first thoughts/ words would be "Lie, steal, cheat..."rolling on the floor laughing No thanks.
Who should be preserved? for starters, an eclectic collection of artists, Historians and Scientists from different areas/ disciplines. No military, politicians, philosophers, financial types; perhaps some toy makers....that would mystify those in the far futurelaugh and throw in some cartoon shows; perhaps those in that far future will think that those things are actually us....home movies....rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Single or Married has its own price to pay

The so called bachelor is usually a man who can take or leave women and prefers to do both...footloose and fiancé free as it were; marriage becomes a partnership and if it works it is a success but to have a failure, it only takes one and life again becomes a mere dream with the only difference being that she is no longer naked and tied to the radiator.....rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Cryogenics .

An option could be to place the "material" in permanent frozen ground very north or very south and forget the cooling-freezing system.[/quote

The world's largest genetics lab is located just at the Arctic Circle at Spitsbergen, I believe. It took years with many Govt. helping to fund it. All grains and animal genetic material is stored there both as a record and as a 'last resort' re-population measure. No private clinic would have the moneys to bring the enormous amounts of equipment needed to break and dig into permanently frozen earth which would have to be either at the North Pole or South polar regions; massive mountains all over the southern pole area; forget the Himalayas...machinery can't climb and the Sherpas aren't interested in even trying to guide bulldozers etc. up their mountains and helicopters can't operate at their heights in blizzard conditions...may as well put remains into a rocket bound for Pluto once automated lab set ups are worked out and if the rockets could land on an ice world....they can't even yet land on Martian sand,,,laugh
Have you found the science series, Through The Wormhole hosted by Morgan Freeman?? It's all so fascinating, I purchased the whole series...grin

RE: Who do you trust more for accurate news coverage?

Ok, I'll agree with the above for the BBC as I do at times find them rather amusing to try and understand the reader speaking into his chin or simply muttering or at times even inventing new and very un-British ways of pronouncing words... or the attempts by a certain reader trying desperately to appear laid-back or nonchalant with his jacket open, extra large tie draped over his lap like a napkin, of a colour that sun-glasses are needed for his seemingly neon attire. This one constantly mumbles and mutters so as to render most stories un-intelligible....(like where in the hell did they find this idiot!?) (Did he even have a basic interview and rehearsal for his news reading??) I bet it was a close friend or relative that hired him...The poor chap also has a problem with his wrists in that he is constantly flicking them, both sideways and up and down; one can only think of someone exaggerating the flamboyance of a drunken drag-queen...BBC news is the best comedy show on TV from Britain...laugh

RE: Religion & Dating... Thoughts?

Ideal;y, they should compliment each other with a nice harmonious relationship...but for the life of me, I just can't see a lovely Amish girl being in a relationship with a Rastafarian in any way nor a nice Shinto Japanese man dating a Voodoo priestess from Haiti...laugh

RE: Cryogenics .

Plans for most of the labs that have tried to further this have all been "put on ice" as it were due to the enormous amounts of power that this concept and current design require to maintain the procedure plus the power has to remain absolutely secure which is severely problematic especially with their systems open to hacking. Total security coupled with a secure amount of power is still impossible which limits actual facilities from operating despite the viability of the concept.

RE: Will human reach on Mars in future?

Will human reach on Mars in future?

Extremely doubtful. Nate. Geo. Mag has just published their latest record of some and mostly failed landings and ones that disappeared which is over 40. Many NASA people have spoken 'off the record' regarding the last several fights that either simply disappeared or seem to have been 'shot down' as the last Russian attempt some years ago. Images from this last satellite seem to indicate a giant cigar shaped object took it out. Many at NASA seem to agree and give no real credence to alleged plans for any more attempts to land on Mars. The Russians have made no attempts to correct their findings that it was a giant 'UFO' type of craft that took their satellite out. It was not the first time that 'fuzzy images' of a craft was photographed. They also have made statements that they have abandoned all further attempts to try again, including the moon but will continue sending up US astronauts which is a very lucrative money making enterprise for them.
Several former US astronauts have voiced their concerns that from all the anomalies detected that have been found on both the Moon and Mars just may be 'occupied'.

RE: North America

The Vikings, their picturesque brutality aside, had their moments of brilliance. Lief Ericsson and his crew sailed all the way to North America, aka 'America'. Some say he may have sailed all the way down to Manhattan.
They arrived, took a look and sailed back. Pure brilliance.

RE: what makes you have freedom?

Freedom is a form of illusion or delusion to many, while others hold it to be an active pathology; a form of virus that infects the minds of those terminally deranged. Freedom as a political concept is a disease that many governments around the world seek to cure, especially the US in other countries that it wishes to dominate or incorporate as another 'colony' with it's puppets in charge to re educate those left alive after sending in their troops to 'liberate' them with their own personal copies of the US Constipation...wine

RE: How Do The American Presidential Elections Affect You?

In fairness to the hordes of those 'deplorable',aka those un-adorables...she could build them a wall once she can have them isolated into one specific are of the states and wall them in from the rest of the population that is not 'deplorable'. Perhaps she could also have loudspeakers going 24-7 playing nothing but country western 'music' as Parade magazine did a survey some years ago and found that cities with 2 or more radio stations that played country/western music had both the highest rates of murder and suicide in the US....cheering rolling on the floor laughing

RE: 1960's Abandoned Satellite Comes To Life!

Several years ago the Russian Space Agency verified that under the Soviets, in the late 50's and early 60's,more than several Cosmonauts were launched into space that never came back and a few just kept going...perhaps one will return and attempt to phone home....uh oh
laugh

RE: How Do The American Presidential Elections Affect You?

Many have voiced their desire for this, especially from the hordes of growing numbers of "deplorables" as Clinton labeled them. My money would be on the election of Clinton and the attempts to then impeach her after the election, which will only grow. If those attempts become as divisive as expected, some state or states may then force the the anti Clintons to call for secession without any debates in any state legislature by simply declaring it. party

RE: CS nudist camp...

Having been to several over the years, watching and participating in the camp's sports activities can indeed be a 'liberating experience' to say the least with Badminton or volley ball; unlike playing 'horseshoes', or what can be described as the most 'awkward' to be seen playing...marbles!rolling on the floor laughing Potato sack racing can be quite bracing as well as hysterical unlike archery contests...no movement. Wheelbarrow racing can bring on a heart attack from sheer laughing fits by both males and females. But. hey, it's all good and people need to relax with each other and then they can really enjoy it all...well, minus playing a musical instrument such as a flute or a violin...too silly for words...grin

RE: How Do The American Presidential Elections Affect You?

My only interest is whether any states declare secession after the election. The US as a whole has more reasons to finally break-up than not. It needs to break-up for more reasons than they have for staying together under a coercive government that only seeks to impose restrictions on all their freedoms and rights by the ultimate use of force, totally against all the founding principles of a nation. The national govt. has become the proverbial 'enemy of the people'.It's long overdue that the people reclaim their inherent rights.
As far as the world is concerned, it would be a welcome change not to have the US as the sole force of world domination. Time to force a change for better leadership.
