RE: Say Anything

Hose is a flexible pipe, but flexible pipe is actually something different to both hose and pipe, a hose is still a pipe that is flexible - more flexible than flexible pipe.

RE: Have you ever?

We all have our foibles

RE: Have you ever Thumbed A Ride ?

It was a bit before my time but the next time I see someone hitchhike I'm going to pick them up. You see I've recently become nervous about what people can coast into doing and never to think again, oh someone else will pick them up and someone else will help that old man broken down on his mobility scooter. If anyone is to exercise a will of their own it's going to have to be me isn't it.

RE: If You Want To Buy Something Expensive But Your Sure Your Partner Will Say No

Yes and the exact same trick works when playing out. What time will you be home from the pub? 3am. But stroll in at 2am and we'll all be winners

RE: Demonic possession

There are all these videos on YouTube and not one of them is proof. Life needs to be more interesting than the things that are really there. More so now that the luxury of having an indoor toilet has worn off.

RE: Actress/Model Ann Heche

We should do that although I realize the battle that sympathy is in an awful time. You either will have sympathy for the less fortunate or you won't have sympathy for the less fortunate, no half measures. Mind you I'd be the first to admit that I know absolutely nothing about Ann Heche. I would prefer her to be alive but id say that about anyone.

RE: Actress/Model Ann Heche

James Dean counts as the folly of youth and what was that? 24. I think that even in today's infantilised world under the ancient regime, 35 would be a stretch.

RE: Actress/Model Ann Heche

Although considering she's dead we can't really ask for any more punishment than that. She's paid the price and then some so I am sympathetic from that point of view. The only consolation is that this is not the folly of youth but happened to someone whose best years are behind them. What the ancient regime calls young is nothing of the kind thank God.

RE: Actress/Model Ann Heche

And in no way is driving like a lunatic part and parcel with feeding an addiction. Yes I'm sure it affects your judgement but it's still not the same as stealing to buy drugs. It's extra to drive like that you're not forced into doing it because you're addicted. Your responsibility is diminished, I wouldn't quite treat them the same as someone who did this with their best thinking cap on, but it's not forgiven.

RE: Actress/Model Ann Heche

I'd be a bit more sympathetic if she was young and/or something awful had happened recently which I don't know about. 53 is old and I don't care what our geriatric, deaths door society says. At any rate I'm more into rehabilitating addicts when the addiction was the crime. People are addicted to cocaine they're not addicted to driving on cocaine, there is a difference. And yet I would prefer this to doing the same thing sober. I wouldn't know where to begin with someone who did this sober.

RE: Is love blind?? Old vs young?

And suffice it to say I expect men to lose this war. Why? Because any woman is better than no woman. By default grateful to be noticed and I agree with Stalin in this context - gratitude is an illness suffered by dogs. But the typical woman will turn down an offer that isn't good enough, in a sense they'll go on strike until the offer meets their standards. Sometimes they spend the rest of their lives on strike but what they wont do is sell themselves short.

RE: Is love blind?? Old vs young?

And I expect it to end in disaster when the girls of Tik Tik - all the underage girls and the women trying to look underage - meet a world where 21 is the new 18. This Botox at 21 meeting a western world where 20 isn't an adult. In the 70s no one batted an eye at 14, in the 00s it was 16, it's meeting 18 today and it will soon be 21. However people are trying to look younger than ever. It's a strange feature of an infantilised world everybody trying to look younger actually needs you to be older. There's a tension building between what women do to attract men and the fact that what men want is openly scorned in the west. I wouldn't keep posting pictures of 19 year old girls because you'll be tomorrow's Prince Andrew.

RE: Is love blind?? Old vs young?

There wouldn't be much of a market for a 16 year old school boy dancing around the high school singing about getting hit. There wouldn't be a Benjamin Spears aimed at women. And actually you wouldn't get Britney Spears doing that now - but because of political correctness and men in the west being full of fear and deceit, it's not because they've had a complete personality change over the last 20 years. They're exactly the same as they were when they think nobody is watching.

RE: Is love blind?? Old vs young?

Not that the thing to do is to destroy them necessarily, it could make you feel protective. Women look a lot more like children than men do and they do everything they can to maintain it. And now they've discovered filters this has reached a level of concern, it's enabled women to look 14 and they do it, too. But a man would be foolish to try and look that much younger than he really is. Tall, dark and handsome is to look like a proper grown up thats the whole point.

RE: Is love blind?? Old vs young?

It's the opposite of the way the world goes mad for blonde women. We see blonde and think now there's a person who can be completely and totally destroyed - which is attractive, on her.

RE: Is love blind?? Old vs young?

And if you're a blonde bombshell of a man the best thing that can happen is going grey. Better grey than beautiful blonde locks that make you look a bit weak , a bit like you'd wilt under the sun just a bit too much like a woman and not enough like an everyman. Until you go grey and lose that precious, fragile look.

RE: What do you do when you get upset?

Shout, swear, speculate. Speculate so much that it rounds off into philosophy where you can't really stay mad at anyone. It's just deep and meaningless. And then I try to come up with some funny words, could do with a laugh after all that

RE: Are you going without...foods you used to afford?

And bin the idea of service contracts altogether. Get away from all this insurance of appliances and have a rainy day fund. Get your peace of mind from the rainy day fund, anybody selling you peace of mind, is ripping you off. Don't let them do it to you.

RE: Are you going without...foods you used to afford?

Not that im touting for work or anything things are just getting a bit real now. Too real for British gas where you will be sold so much more than you ever wanted or needed, and better than this, every bit you are sold will cost twice as much as it should. British Gas are just scumbags preying on housewives and office workers.

RE: Are you going without...foods you used to afford?

And whilst I'm on the subject don't use British Gas for your gas appliances. You know how I said about grocers having a relatively efficient and competitive setup, well the same cannot be said for British Gas. British gas sells peace of mind to a pen-pushing public who don't have any practical skills or knowledge. British Gas are a crony capitalist rag but the reason they get away with it is because people don't know what they're doing, unlike when it comes to shopping for groceries. You really are the biggest, most put upon idiot if you use British Gas.

RE: Are you going without...foods you used to afford?

And this might seem counterintuitive but put your central heating on for 5 minutes now. There's a small chance of it saving you quite a lot of money.

RE: Are you going without...foods you used to afford?

And I do recommend if not a complete boiler service but someone to come and clean the burner out. The rest is not a priority, at the end of the day rules were made to be bent.

RE: Are you going without...foods you used to afford?

I hope you've done things like cancel your tv license and put a pillow up the chimney. Got rid of your landline and by the way you have a legal right to free tap water when dining out.

And for another idea - barter. Maybe a local gas fitter would be happy to service your boiler if you were to mow his lawns. Good old barter even better than cash in hand.

RE: Rehab or punishment

It might be unsettling to realize that there is no one you can vote for, nothing that can be done to make this industrial revolution not a crime against humanity. Generations in the future, if we survive, will look back at us as primitive, savage beasts thumbling around in the dark pretending to know what we are doing. It's going to be a long time before society corrects itself we've not even produced a Charles Dickens from the industrial atrocity of today.

RE: Rehab or punishment

I strongly suspect that it will soon not be safe for us to continue speaking like this anymore. The wild west internet is entering a stage of tyranny from one extreme to the other. It's going to take decades of experience for people to know what they're doing, now is the tyranny of sheep trying to use an iPhone.

RE: Rehab or punishment

Not necessarily on purpose but undeniably corrupt. It's more than a coincidence that what they want is to drive us onto a small range of websites owned by the same 5 or 6 men. This is not just coincidence but an indication of who the powerful are.

RE: Rehab or punishment

Through the lockdown and the recession the first thing I would be soft as a brush over is who said what online. The way we've groomed us into little recesses of the internet not really knowing what's going to come out of it. The law is rigid and backward anyway staffed by the sheltered, they're going to be so shocked to find the way things are like they've time travelled to now from the 1980s.

RE: Dream job

My dream job is not to have a job, anything that's going to pay me to do what I'd do in my spare time. But you know I think I'd stay working on the gas, there's definitely a future in it.

RE: Rehab or punishment

Admittedly that's more about spitting poison at or crawling all over someone because of how you feel about them. But you need someone to oppose this and it's going to have to be the rational male. Use the fact that men are by nature more open and trusting to somehow give somebody a fair shake, be less about the in-group and the out-group which are the things that matter to the feminine crowd twice as much in an insecure time.

RE: Rehab or punishment

Women will be both the ones trying to get serial killers off the hook, but also be the most fanatical supporters of the party. If she likes you, you'll struggle to put a foot wrong but the reason we have the term "yes man" is because some men will criticise people they like and actually turn down their approval if necessary.
