RE: Happy ??

Those who live eternally in heaven will actually beg for death. And I argue that there's a reason why the worst things to ever happen are so much worse than the good things are good. Suffering is normal and anything better is a blessing. But those who endure nothing will feel hard done by.

RE: Happy ??

Happiness is an elusive quality that arises from being lucky to be alive. I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden is the only way that you can stop and smell the flowers. Otherwise the flowers would be meaningless.

RE: Happy ??

What about the absence of people that want you to be unhappy? I would wager that Jews in a concentration camp were more unhappy than the billionaires are happy and if you won the lottery the best thing would be to never see a debt collector. The first 2% of your winnings make you happier the other 98% lead to a situation of being not bothered about anything. It is not happiness but "meh" that comes from never having it so good.

RE: SMART METERS - INCREASE BILLS WHILE THEY KILL YOU

I don't know anything about that and I don't think there's anything wrong with smart meters. The problem is that they're coupled with a system designed to grind down our sense of self-worth to the point where they can do rationing on us.

RE: Father in China abandons 5-year-old son at kindergarten following negative paternity test

And it reminds of the Chinese man who disowned his wife and children because the wife had plastic surgery and never told him, and then the kids turned out ugly. More than disowned them he sued the mother in a Chinese court.. and won

RE: Father in China abandons 5-year-old son at kindergarten following negative paternity test

And maybe it's because the communist revolution was itself well-meaning that they never try to do the right thing ever again. They come to despise altruism and anything you could call the community. Like I say your own mother perhaps the one exception to the rule that is never try do the right thing because your fellow man is your enemy. You can't trust any anybody at all in absolute contradiction of Marxist theory.

Well what Elon Musk doesn't appreciate is that China hasn't given us an Elon Musk. That there could be something lost in the brain by treating people like cattle along with that poor kid.

Pay some interesting members to join the forums. More of a fun type of person who keeps the excitement going like a fluffer

RE: What does the first hour of your day …

At the most absolute we Tinder on the toilet for an hour. Many of the problems of the day simply melt away so long as we don't try to confront them too early.

RE: What does the first hour of your day …

We can judge a lot about social progress from our toilets and do you know what the first hour of the day is for? Going for a dump. This and nothing else.

RE: What does the first hour of your day …

5am is a barbaric hour for utterly ignorant, savage people like farmers and the elderly. What happened to the economic possibilities for our grandchildren? A world where nothing stressful happens before 10am.

RE: How do you feel about … the DEATH PENALTY? Should it be outlawed?

I suspect opposing the death penalty is one of those liberal tenets that is a bit like being sure you would have joined the French resistance. It's expedient to say you are a liberal so I don't think it necessarily means fair trial although of course people love public hanging when there is no chance of a fair trial.

RE: How do you cope when the heat is on?

Stay indoors like a vampire. They say goldilocks but you know the correct temperature for life is a lot closer to absolute zero than the hottest thing ever.

RE: The Attraction

It used to be more looks but as time goes on it's sounding like a proper grown up. So that's none of this cheering blushing wave cheering like a 7 year old. I know it's worse when men do it but still, it's offputtingly childish even in women.

RE: Have you ever been on holiday to Spain

I've mostly been to Spain, all around Spain. Such a rich and diverse culture where you get to watch the whole of civilization dissolve like plains into a desert. Where did it end? Nobody knows exactly. You can't put a line on it although they're willing to give it a go in Catalonia. We don't know what a north south divide is by comparison.

RE: Boris Johnson resigns

Which says everything about winning a landslide victory against Jeremy Corbyn. Boris didn't win, the opposition lost and there's a difference; easy come, easy go.

RE: Sanctions by the west .

And we think this way when the opposite is the case. We had Japan and south Korea but I don't see any that repeated in the neo-liberal era. China has taken the technology and the miniature Big Ben and that's about it. None of the middle east is better off which isn't to say that China will become the new America. It won't. The Chinese are even more alienating.

RE: Sanctions by the west .

And the official line in Russia is dominated by the enormous suffering of the 1990s. The west is dominated by the opposite the sense that you win anyway as a kind of void fill. That sense of unchallenged supremacy where you win anyway and it doesn't matter what you do.

RE: Sanctions by the west .

Your formative years were hunky dory but hunky dory is so old-fashioned. Trump, Brexit and Le Pen are the west in its own way becoming more like the developing world, you know the rainbow flags are just a hangover from the memory of prosperity it's not the way it's going. It just takes about twenty years to officially react to what the culture is, or more accurately was. Always that twenty years behind reality. Rainbow flags come from the Blair years

RE: Why homelessness is a big world problem

Try to come up with a positive and I'd say that at least we are not alone. This isn't 1996 when being homeless said more about you than the world. Don't torture yourself with 1996, things are getting a bit real now.

RE: Why homelessness is a big world problem

Because spite is a large part of it. We often think that helping someone else comes at the expense of helping themselves but this is not true when you're sleeping in the car and looking for somewhere to have a bath.

And we must actually view losers with sympathy when becoming homeless depends on China's covid zero strategy. Just as an example. Your fate decided by people you've never even met, some breeze across the world brings the house down.
