RE: Are you keeping your car battery charged?

You can freeze milk too. Just make sure thicker plastic and check when thawing for cracks. Idea of freezing small batteries tho has it's doubters.dunno Dead car batteries will crack...keep charged.

RE: The Queen using her best Leadership skills

Even though we split from England, she is still like our Queen. And now like our dear grandmum. She has lead a long life with much to contend with. From a young woman, she has had to be strong for everyone else. I wonder when she ever got the chance to cry. As long as she reigns, life is constant and steady. Long live the Queen.thumbs up cheering

RE: Are you keeping your car battery charged?

Bread doesn't get stale in frig or freezer. Unless sits for two months. lol. Batteries for tractor, mower, golf cart and undriven car get pulled, in basement and trickle during winter. Dad had a 70 AMC wagon. Mom had it after he died. She didn't drive. I took her to town monthly, same as dad had. That cotton picker could sit for months and fire right up. One time ours wouldn't. dead of winter. Called her and can borrow wagon? OH, so you don't like the wagon except when it will start when YOURS wont? mumbling mumbling sigh
Finally battery went on wagon. Looked at it..uh..mom..do you remember when you bought a new one. No, but could check files. NEVER!!wow By the look/name/etc..it was the ORIGINAL battery from AMC. Over 25 years old!! So don't tell me they can't make them to last if they want to.

RE: plague v virus

Thanks for the clarification of it. I was thinking about bacteria. But, one thing that fits the term plague is HUMANS!

RE: Face masks

At my age, face masks are a beauty plus! LOL. Or veils?

RE: The Mystery Of Kim Jung Un

With luck, he ate himself to death. I can't see that country changing for another 2 or 3 generations. Too brow beaten. What I don't get is he and sis were college ed in foreign countries. He loves American stuff. So why not open like China did and grab it?dunno

RE: Meat plants to stay open even while many workers are sick with the corona virus

It is the fact that slaughter houses and meat packers have been hell holes for decades. Nothing changes. Anyone remember what the book was written long back about them? The FDA and OSSA are a joke when it comes to packers. Maybe this is the time to force them to clean up their act.

RE: plague v virus

Plagues are caused by viruses. Due to the vastness of this, I call it a plague.

RE: THE PRIVILEDGED UNDER COVID-20 MEDICAL MARTIAL LAW

Sorry..not into reading War and Peace!sigh doh

RE: what is a ''hill billy''?

That term can fit anyone regardless of area. A person who grows up in a closed community with the limited beliefs of such. They favor cultural norms and fear things they are not accustomed to. They are amazed at outsiders as at the same time, fear them. Education is more limited and often not considered as important as learning the skills of their world. Poverty and lack of ways forward trap them into staying in those communities. Limited resources, contacts and family pressures trap them also.
Now, see ghettos, communes, depressed areas of cities and low populated areas of the county and the name applies to them all.

RE: Are you keeping your car battery charged?

Got to thinking..uh..when did I run car last? Month? More? So took it for a spin up the road 2 miles and back. Parked again to forget about. Truck I started every month or two. Had to add air to rear tire. Usually just start, warm up and go back and forth to keep brakes free.
Rest of the batteries sit in basement and get trickle charged periodically.
It is too easy for me ignore vehicles sitting. Then want them and click click click..frustrated mumbling very mad

RE: What is the best device you can carry to defend yourself with legally

On the farm, hogleg revolver on one side and bowie on other. Never know when I might need to shoot a varment. Car, wood length..tire thumper, window breaker and fool clunker. I think the best on a street walking late would be a spray can. Any kind. Spray bug killer or any cleaner and they aren't going to be happy. How about spray paint? Not only blinds them, but dyes them for future arrest. Just look for the guy with a purple face. Kind of like bank dye idea. "Hey, I just was carrying it, heading home."innocent

RE: Your first priority is to eat with

I cook for my fellow when he visits. Happy to do it. But, never viewed eating as a social event. Food gets cold and you get to see people eat like hogs and wear it.
I prefer to huddle in a corner and snarl. Visit without food in the way.scold

What percentage has Covid 19 changed your lifestyle?

You know what I wish. Mine were still alive so they could hold me and tell me it would all be alright. Especially mom, nothing like mommy hugs. I wonder how many times I dumped on her, she gave advice, told me it would be OK and after I left bawled her eyes out for me.comfort

RE: Covid-19 rumor

And the Sahara. I always wonder about the term "think tank". So people actually get paid to sit around and dream up crappy ideas? Data can be made to say whatever one wishes it to.
I do surveys on line for a bit of mad money. I see how they slant them. The preferred respondent is under 40, has kids, is in debt and buys a ton of garbage. They are into tech and own Smart phones and smart whatevers. I type in age..boot! They ask questions about corporations or companies..don't use or like the one sponsoring the survey..boot!
So the upshot is the survey only wants to hear from someone who loves the product or company. And the they put out the poll and say 90% of the people love the product or company. Can't believe any of it.
All fake or slanted.
The other thing is the small amount of people that get interviewed. Hey, what about the rest of the country no one asked.
Good old news...if it bleeds it leads. Dramatize it, warp it, slant it and milk it for all it's worth.

What percentage has Covid 19 changed your lifestyle?

Growing up, we ran 144 head of sheep. I talked to dad about moving to Australia and being a sheep farmer. He had migrated to the US from Germany and was agreeable to my thoughts. I have the feeling he might have packed up mom and moved too.
But, senior year..I who had no time for males, fell for a classmate and graduated in June and married in August. A couple of years later, Australia suffered through the worst 5 year drought ever. Thousands of sheep died and even some farmers. So I was lucky I guess.
It's a beautiful land and varied, but not kind always. In middle age I got into cutting opal. So at that point my move would have been to Coober Peddy and underground.laugh
There is a movie called Wind Walker. An old Indian dies, is placed on his platform, and ends up coming back to life. He heads to save his family, falls through a cave roof onto a bear. Kills the bear, skins it and huddles in the hide. And says the truest words ever.."Such a long life is hazardous to one's health".
Life sure takes twists and turns, eh?

RE: Ladies... Just curious. What designer perfume fragrance do you wear when you want to subtly impress?

I have Channel #5 also. That was my mothers favorite. When dad went on business to Chicago he would go to the wholesale house and bring her back a bottle.
I don't think many new scents can beat the old ones. So many smell alike.
I like lilac, gardenia, hyacinth, ylan ylang and rose. I read that lavender is common and lilac rare because they can't make lilac. All lilac that you find are artificial.

RE: Is it true we will all end up Germaphobes saving our pee in jars & wearing tissue boxes on our feet?

Considering the way people have been, be good if they became a bit more aware of passing cr** back and forth. But, knowing human nature and how complacent they are, they will go back to their old slovenly ways in a short time. I see too many people who think they are super human and wont get stuff. Or think nothing is that bad, just get it and move on.That makes it bad for the rest of us. So guess we will have to be more germaphobes to keep ourselves safe.

RE: If you are in a state of lockdown what is most annoying and also frustrating?

Actually nothing has changed for me on the farm. I am a recluse by nature anyway. But, what is funny is now that I can't go into town...I want to!confused The stores that are closed in town, I never shop at anyway. But, annoying that I am leery of going to the ones that are open.
I have always been careful in town in winter..colds..flu..so just another bug to avoid.
I always have a zillion projects to do, hobbies and maintenance. Problem is trying to come out of winter hibernation and finding a can of I give a darn. Old age syndrome..who cares.moping

RE: Ladies... Just curious. What designer perfume fragrance do you wear when you want to subtly impress?

I like Taboo, but only wear it in winter. Too strong for summer and a drop goes a loooong way.

RE: Will you take the Corona Virus Vaccine?

I believe in the tried and true vaccines..like Smallpox. With them the US was able to eliminate or reduce many serious diseases, like Polio. I went to school with a guy who got it. We were too old by the time it was invented. He is so crippled up he can't stand straight..still working. And a woman with a bad foot with polio. How many ended up living in an iron lung for life.
I don't know which I got as a child. I know I had every measles invented as a child to the point we were happy when my spots turned out to be chicken poxs and I didn't have to stay in bed in a dim lit room.
Will I get the shingles vaccine. No. I haven't heard of anyone around me with shingles. I think all the diseases are over hyped to make money for Big Pharma,
I never got a flu shot. This is a virus that mutates constantly. When they toss a dart and guess which strain will be prevalent and are right TEN percent in a given year...Bite Me!
No way I will chance a brand new, rushed through vaccine for Covid 19. It takes years to find the oops in drugs. And maybe Covid 20 will be a new virus and the vaccine will be useless by then.dunno

RE: Have you ever mentally dated a fictional character?

No, but does longing count. Some were the actors in certain roles...like Rhett Butler, Jesse in Larramie, or Jack Sparrow. Some were the actors..Yul Brenner, Kirk Douglas, Vincent Price. Now I am hung up on the Red Dead Redemption 2 character of Arthur Morgan. Only with the common portrait, not the way some players mess with his looks.
Women luv bad boys. Sensible ones won't touch them with a ten foot pole.thumbs down

How many of you know who Doc Holiday was.

Greetings neighbor. Message if you want a penpal.
He was a dentist who contracted TB. At the time the only treatment was to head out west to dry, warm air and rest. He headed out there and became pals with the Earps, mainly Wyatt. He was a gambler and a drunk. When the shoot out against Ike Clanton and the McLaurys in the alley next to the OK Corral occured, he sided with the Earps. The fight was over the killing of one of the Earp brothers who was a lawman. If I remember right, he survived to die in bed of TB. The old west makes fascinating reading. Most way different than movies.doh

RE: Ladies... Just curious. What designer perfume fragrance do you wear when you want to subtly impress?

I agree with Calvin Kleins Obsession. One or two of Victoria's Secret are good too. I switch around on scents. Lemon, grapefruit, roses, Muguet de B??/lily of the valley. I cracked up years ago..fruit scents oils were big. I liked them. One of our biker gangs gal wore them too. I asked him what he thought once. He said they were OK, but...his woman wore a few at a time and he said didnt like cause she smelled like a mixed fruit salad.rolling on the floor laughing

RE: I need your advice....

I just read how China bought into Italy just so they can stick a made in Italy tag and charge more. The only designer stuff I own I picked up in St. Vinnys or Goodwill for less than 25. I see designer merchandise is better as far as linings, hand bound button holes and fabric. But, most people have no idea what label you have unless it is stuck on your butt like Levi. And if you check on Ebay, you can buy labels for big name designers. I have name brand purses. Except for Coach who also does saddles, they all wear the same as any bag. Even if leather.
I am spoiled with Ebay. I scan past the QVC and those on TV and stop to see prices. Amazing..ugly top for only 39.99. Or buy same at Walmart for 15 or Ebay for 6. I did hear once tho that over half of stuff bought on home shopping is returned. PT Barnum must be laughing himself off his cloud.
