Warped. Hate pranks..they are mean usually. Slap stick usually is dumb. Jokes like these.
Guy is putting up a flag pole. Digs the hole, then puts the pole in and pulls out a tape measure. Tries over and over to measure it. By stander says why don't you take it out, lay it down and measure it. First guy snarls..I want to measure the height! Not the width fool!
Guys watches a couple guys working. Grumbles..two hours to do that job! I would have gotten it done in fifteen with my nine employees.

A great problem in the US is the failure of parenting, lackadaisical attitude, spoiling kids with everything and thinking throwing more money at it solves it. Too many fails on test. Grade on a curve. Too many failed grades, eliminate grading.
I started out in a one room school. 1-8. Teacher cared. Taught everything she could even bringing books from home. She knew for farm kids, 8th might be all they got so they needed the best she could do. I was bored in high school. Had it all in grade school. We had built a 4 room. Two grades in each. We got the lessons in a one room 8 times. Twice in the 4 room.
President of the bank came out to teach us how to do banking and write checks. Parents sat with a child to help teach math. Moms read to kids and taught how important books were.
All that is today is spend more on buildings. Kids deserve a bigger gym. A fancier ball field. Reward failure so they dont get traumatized. Lower standards..no staying back to repeat a grade. Pamper, coddle, avoid. Then graduate them out of high school with a fourth grade skill for reading and math and wonder why they can't succeed. Now our idiot POTUS wants to reward kids who had no sense by forgiving student loans from 10-20K. Screw those who paid theirs off. Make those who work minimum wage jobs pay for someone elses education.
Long ago I ran for school board. Was tired of higher property taxes so the neighbors kid could sit and listen to headphones playing pop music for music appreciation class. Did 3 debates. Bu the third was fed up and ticked. I finally said..know what. I have the answer. Equal deprivation for all. YOUR kid doesnt get a bus for bowling. And YOURs doesnt get it for golf outings. Drive them yourself! What? NO..take it from them and give to me. The night of the election I plead, please get me out of this! I ended up third with only a few votes. Thank you! Go %&*$%#%^* yourselves.

Two groups. The older who use it as social gathering. The younger who don't post because they are just here to latch onto someone and leave when it doesnt work.

A cautionary tale about using leaves. Friend of dads hunted and fished here. When he was absent for a longer time than normal, mom noticed when he appeared one day. She said..have you been busy with your store..haven't been out for awhile. He blushed and said no..had medical issue. Oh..hope nothing serious. Uh..yes and no. Seems he was out in the woods here, deer hunting. Had an bad urge so went a bit and did his business. Grab some leaves and wiped. Turned out they were poison ivy. Ended up with his junk covered in blisters so bad he had to see the Doctor. Mom said as much time as you spend in the woods..you couldn't ID poison IVY!?

My dad was born in Germany. When I was born, mom wanted him to teach me German. He said no..she is an American and that is its language. She has no need to learn German. He said English was the hardest language to learn. When I went into town high school, I wanted to take it. But, had missed the first year that was taught in 8th so couldn't. I took Latin and then Spanish. Never figured that Spanish would become Americans language!
He was right in so many ways. English has become the universal language across the globe. It amazes me that so many foriegn people are bi-lingual and in the US, so many cant even speak proper English!

Grew up on this river. Live on this river. And rarely fish. I can through my bait into a school and catch nothing! Not big on eating fish anyway. So I prefer to catch fish at Walmart or Culvers.

I am here because friends from an old DOA site came here. We talked in a 60s group. I use a free site like this as my social media. Forums, blogs and pen pals. From what I see, some of us are only here for that.I saw years ago on a couple of sites that the format is flawed. Type in you want within 50 miles and they offer Germany! Say age and get everything from 18 to dead.
It is a problem to meet people. Especially in rural areas. People joined up out of high school or met at jobs. Or churches. Outside of those..then what? That loser in the bar?
Even to make friends is hard. So here we are.

Oh man!!! You guys can drool on those babes all you want. I will be drooling over that gorgeous flame job..Merc I think. If I owned that gem, would spend my day in the garage worshiping it.
I follow a youtube..Curiosity Inc. He buys,fixes and sells including cars. He got hold of a 47 Daimler limo that might have been owned by the Queen. Watched him do stuff to it. Put money into it. Now he got a Ferrari from the US and..ARGH.. Daimler is at auction. Ya thinks maybe you could keep a car long enough to DRIVE IT! Super rare car and he dumps it. If you want to see, go to Kauctions.ca. It is an auction house in Canada, Edmonton. right now it bids at $11700. I checked Old Cars on a maybe..yep..none ever sold to find out value.

Why?

The great unanswered mysteries of life. Why does any product you dislike and are trying to use up, last forever. That fav perfume lasts a month. That one that smells like a wet mop that you paid enough for to not waste...goes on and on and one. Come-ee doggie..
Why can one look for an item in your house everywhere and over again. Then you find it sitting in plain sight where you looked countless times? My answer is it was there..but in the other dimension.
How come you put something away in a really good place, where you dont find it, until looking for something else. Then think why did I put it there. That was the DUMBEST place to put it!
Why does a 25 mile drive take forever going and a short time returning?
Why is the weather always bad on the ONE day you are going somewhere?
Why do we buy an item for if we need it. Then when we do, can't find it and buy one?

Why do mice live two years. And a tortoise 100? Parakeet 15 and a parrot 150? Why does nature create any organism and then let it age? Why no keep the first one going for 300 years. We spend out life gaining skills and knowledge and then die and it is wasted.

I do not believe in it. Sure, some may live on. But, constant doctoring, pain,. drugs that mess up the rest of the body. A guy in town was one of the first and longest living heart transplant. And he rued the day he did it. In hospital over and over. Constant pain. Bad health from drugs. And he said he would die and leave his wife destitute because his care and treatment took every dime they had. He lived 15 years of hell.
Brother-in-law. Diabetic. Kidney transplant. Had to wait for bad heart to improve. He already had foot amputation. Went in. Got kidney. Went home. Back in a week with infection. Dead in a few days. Docs were puzzled..kidney worked when they put it in!?
Now another worry..if unvaxed and get blood or more from vaxed..does that destroy your pure blood and you have all the risks of the vax?

Another sofa throw from my boarder. A cool multi-tool from my tenant. And my SO made me a device to crush glass to make German Glass Glitter. And he finally cut my scimitar knife blade out of the old leaf spring I had sent with him 2 years ago. lol. Sent it back with him to cut the tang different and polish more. Take me forever by hand otherwise. Now to find the wood to do the pommel. I dont think I will make a guard, just shape the wood.

Why are you sick?

I am back to normal. Cough now and then only. Mom said the 3 of us never were sick til I started first grade. Then I got sick lots and gave it to mom and dad. I will keep wearing a mask inside stores and keeping back from humans. Now they have a XBB covid. Let everyone else mutate the bugs to mild. I prefer not to.

No fever. No sore throat. No gastic issues. Maybe covid? Took two weeks plus, but back to normal now. You are more miserable. Poor kid.

Basically the same as every year. Ignore it. Maybe turn the TV on to watch the ball drop. Say happy new year to the ghosts. And go to bed. then try to remember to date check 23 from now on. How did I get this old anyway?!!

Telepathy or mind meld? I was able to "communicate" mentally with my husbands. And now I know when the phone is going to ring and my guy is calling me. We also think the same thing at the same time. If you are in turn with those you are close to, there is a form of it.

Hope everyones stocking is filled with that dream car. Or, for the guys, that pair of dream legs. If I could do copy paste, I would post photos. But, too difficult to get them to here. I have the 63 listed under parts on the Madison WI craigs list.
All summer I post the ad. Little interest. NOW..that the barnyard where the car is in the shed, is full of snow and it is zero for temp...NOW...everyone wants to come look at it. ARGH! So I added to the ad, snow bound til APRIL! Check back then.
I need to run my car and truck next week if it gets to 40s. They have been sitting for weeks and that makes batteries very unhappy.

Wood stove! Grew up with oil heat set to 70. Always cold. Old house with oil space heater..sit on to not freeze. Then new husband said wood stove. And he set up an old cabinet space heater. Warmer, but old house meant fill lots. One winter had 35 below night after night. Waiting for bricks to freeze so heat wouldnt leak out. Told him he had to work..I do stove at night. Every hour, get up, put on wood. I told him after a few days he would get up one morning, find stove gone out and a chunk of wood in the frig. Get wood, open door, put in wood, stagger back to bed. Get up..over and over. Finally the bricks froze and could feel heat reflecting back into room.
Added gas furnace finally outside of kitchen wall in a tiny room we added on.
Moved up to main house. Add on in basement. Now outside forced air wood furnace. Never was warm in this house with oil. Warm with wood. Never be without wood heat. Why? Who knows..just the warmest heat source.

Why are you sick?

Pretty much back to normal. Slept two days ago in the evening, went to bed and slept another 10 hours! I cough lung guck and blow a few times or less an hour. I take about 16 different suppliments in a week. Been bad about it tho and that might have made a difference.
Gal on you tube has a 23 year old son with cancer. Took him to hospital for appt and they are not letting ANYONE in except the patient due to covid going crazy. She is in Cali. It gets me they keep pushing vax and say new works for B.5 But,l read that B.Q is now the prevalent one.
What they should be telling folks is humans are walking disease bags and stop sticking your face at them in crowded rooms.

Why are you sick?

Tthere does sem to be some truth between zinc tabs and Vit D. My guy swears by zinc. When he feels icky, he pops some zinc and says it works. Mom swore by salt water gaggles.
I am happy..getting smell back. That is a sense that I love. Roses, lemons, grass, flowers...fav...Star Gazer lilies.

Why are you sick?

I caught a virus. Goggle symptoms and why bother. You MAY have any, some, or none of this list of 20. So...do I have swine flu? Covid 1-100? A cold?
My idea? We use this thread to compare symptoms and maybe figure out what bug we have.
My started on day 1 with an evening bit of cough. Nothing else. Day 2, more cough and the blowing starts like when you are out in the cold. Definitely something more. Day 3. Coughing in waves, blowing same. No sore throat. Yipee..that is what I hate most. No headache. No body aches, chills, fever, gastro or any of the others on the list. Day 4...coughing even hard, going through shop towels. I dont bother with tissues. Go broke. Tear shop into squares. Day 5, feel like road kill. No interest in food, TV or anything. Watching dust motes. Cough and blow only symptoms and at night, sleep stops it pretty much. Day 6-10. Bit better but same.Realize I can't smell. Well...I might but my nose cant so no idea. Weird. Cant smell aftershave or anything. Day 12. Go to bed and blow. Cough. Now blow is dense and pink tinged. Done.Nope. Again. And again for 10 minutes. Finally done and sleep. Day 13..I am alive! Smell is coming back. Cough and blow way less. And energy gaining. Day 14. Is is done?
No tests so no idea what virus was. Never had anything like it with only a couple symptoms.
Compare is on.

All of life is change. People grow up. Life changes them. They change according to what they have to do to survive. Age is a big changer. The person who tries to stay as they were at 18 is a joke.
But, a major change is not something that happens without the desire of a person to do so. Even then, their true self reduces that change. A person may change a habit, but it doesnt mean they dont still think the same. They just suppress it. If given the opportunity to revert, they would in a heart beat.

I feel sorry for women who walk around with a chip on their shoulder. Scream equality, womens lib, rights and are so bitter they will die alone.
The issue is society today where being a lady OR a gentleman has flown out the window. Manners are subjugated by individual egos who think the world revolves around them and screw everyone else. Do I appreciate it when a man opens the car door for me. Yes. But, only if I have issues getting in or out because of my bags, coat or long dress. Or if he is on my side of the car anyway. Silly is for me to sit like a lump while he has to run all the way around the car to do it.
Do I appreciate it if he opens the door for me. Yes. As well as anyone who does. Same as I do for others. Manners means you see me behind you and do not let the door slam in my face.
I am glad when a man opens that jar for me. It is not a put down. It is simply being kind.
Can I do most everything a man can. Sure. And he can do what I can. So what. Why should I strain to carry that 50 pounds of corn when he can do it with ease? Why should he swear trying to work that tiny part into place when my smaller, flexible hand can do it easier?
What happened to people working together without worrying about who is best, who is tops, who is superior?
When women turned womens lib into a pi**ing contest, women lost. And so did the men.

Money makes people happy because society tells them it does. There are millionaire who are miserable because they are not multi millionaires. There are poor who have a roof, bed and basic needs whom are extremely happy.
Barter is a hard idea due to values. A society must decide a chicken is not worth a calf because of various factors. Object chosen as currency makes it easier, whether it be paper, coin, metals or sea shells. At what point is enough enough? Also how one values oneself. Would you sleep with the grossest and ugliest person for a million dollars? Some would...some wont.
How many cars, planes, homes, land, antiques or whatever can one own? Or does that peasant couple enjoying true love in that basic cottage have what money cant buy?

Guy showed up and checked out my 63 Galaxie. He and his wife have done a couple of Mustangs. Said he was going to stop at Napa and start to check out how much parts are and see how much it would cost total to restore my Azure. So maybe she will find a good home.
Believe it or nuts..I am going to order that Hess car hauler with to deuce racers. So I am an old woman...I want my toy truck! Get this...order direct and pay 41. Buy at wallyworld or others and pay double. Talk about gouging!! Oh well..its for the kids right. So it is fair to rip off the parents.

Now that is a laugh these days. What women under the age of 60 are ladies anymore? I was raised to be a lady. I learned classical music, sang opera, learned how to curtsy..just in case...one never knows. Do not cross your legs incorrectly. Wear a slip always and stockings. A gentleman opens the door, walks on the curb side, pulls out a chair, helps with a coat, orders for her after getting her preference. A lady doesn't talk to a waiter. A man leads, a woman follows. They work together to make their life.
Then came womens lib. Dont you dare comment on her dress, hair or anything else. Dont you dare open a door for her. Or suggest she is unable to do any kind of work. She orders for herself and tells you off.
So now men are petrified to do or say anything.
