Gifted program in my area/schools works a little differently then yours, it sounds like. Students that excel in math go into a math gifted program; those that excel in creative writing are put into that gifted program. The schools here are trying to reinforce the subjects that the students excel in instead of trying to do a broad spectrum.

Interesting thread.

For me, 1st is Greek - Crete in particular. Met/saw more beautiful women there then anyplace I've ever been. Very warm and outgoing people.

2nd would have to be Australia. Beautiful women and not a lot of competition! The Aussie guys would rather drink beer then be with the ladies! Worked well for me when I was there.

Scottish - Sense of humor and their wit.

Irish - Beauty, redheads, accent.

English - proper ladies, but terrors is bed!

Dutch, German, Indian, Arabian, ect., ect., ect.

Lol! It's not that you aren't independent; just the idea that someone else can "rock your world" that much that takes the getting used to. Why devastated? This is what most everyone is looking for! Only some are lucky enough to find it so enjoy every little bit! What you're feeling comes with the territory, kiddo. Why try to fight it? You love the guy, right? That's a GOOD thing! The thought that you WANT to be with him all the time, that you're thinking of him ALL the time, is the way its supposed to be. That's the BEST kind of love, darlin! You're a very lucky woman.

Sorry, I disagree almost completely. Why settle for less then what you want? I won't! Know what a great relationship can be and will NEVER settle for less then that. And yeah, I think it CAN conquer all. You can make it work if you want it too; and yeah, I'd travel anywhere in the world if I REALLY loved someone; and I believe you can find someone that is a soulmate and that you can fall in love at first sight. I guess I sort of believe in everything you said; it CAN happen that way for some people; everyone is different.
What I don't believe in is your jaded view on life and love. More power to you if that works for you, my friend, but I'd much rather have my view on the possibilities out there than yours!

"My Heart Will Go On" - Celine Dion. Every once in awhile someone, somewhere puts out a song with a melody that haunts your mind forever. I think this is one such song; just speaks to the soul; almost brings tears it is so unbelievably beautiful!

Hiya Dawn! Xmas/holidays are different for everyone. Personally, I can't do Xmas at my house since I lost my son. Can celebrate at anyone else in the family, but my house is off limits; too many good memories that just tear me up.
This year, I'll be celebrating Xmas with a special lady. Makes a WHOLE lot of difference in your outlook on the holidays. I'm honestly looking forward to it like I haven't done in a lot of years. And your poem is RIGHT, open yourself up to the possiblities and take a chance.
