Looking at the results of the poll is really scary. More people believe in religion/the bible then science. Don't really understand how they can accept that in the face of scientific evidence.

Hiya darlin! Great fun thread! Since I'm usually the romancee instead of the romancer here's my answer to your above!

1. Sent her 13 long stem roses to her place of work - 12 red and one white. Message attached was "Only one stands out."

2. Text her EVERY single day at work as well as sending her ecards telling her how much I miss her at least once per week!

3. Surprising her with a special dinner! Candlelight, I cook (I'm VERY good, by the way!), music, dancing, and superb wine. (and be a PERFECT gentleman, of course!!)

Told her upfront to "expect the unexpected!" I really enjoy making her smile and surprising her with anything/everything!!

Weird how things work out. I've been on this site for close to a year now. The people that are REALLY trying to find someone or the "one" are still here or most of them seem to be. The ones that are just "dating" or "emailing/pen pals" seem to be finding long term relationships. Not true in all cases, of course, but it does seem to be a trend. I think maybe a lot of us have too damned many expectations and it sort of kills any sort of meaningful relationship before it ever has a chance to develop. Think back to when you were 20 years old and dating and what your expectations were then. Why should it change because you're older??

Web sites are really strange, darlin. Lots of people say "post if you want to get to know someone." I've had better luck just sending out notes to people that catch my eye, whether they post or not. Just relax and enjoy the ride! The saying "when you least expect it" definitely applies! At least it has for me! Wish you well, darlin! Sunshine and roses sent your way!!

Hey Larry!! Good thread! I'm 60 (yeah, my profile has my real age!! :-)) and dating is easier then ever, at least in my experience. Maybe because we know what we want or have less expectations but I'm enjoying the hell out of life and whats out there. Meet new people, (lots of lonely people out there!) have a great evening and conversation, and if something else develops, so much the better. I've met some REALLY fantastic ladies thru web sites - no bad experiences. Think maybe a lot of people have too many expectations instead of just enjoying the moment. So far, for me, fantastic. Presently I'm dating a woman I met on another web site. Having a fantastic time; enjoying every minute were together and looking forward to where we'll end up. If it doesn't work out, at least we'll have had the present time together which has been great for both of us!

Don't know if its "Powerful" or not but treating a woman as an equal partner. Being able to tell her EXACTLY how you feel at any given time; being COMPLETELY honest. Feelings are hard for a man to give voice to; being able to share those are powerful in my opinion.

Hell! I don't even mind the religious threads as long as you don't try to ram it down my throat! Rational discussions are ALWAYS welcome. Personally, I'd probably post a lot more if there were more threads of any of the topics you listed above. The diversity of our human situations is fascinating!

Hiya Robbie. Don't consider myself a regular poster but I do post when I'm so inclined. Haven't posted as much lately as the threads of late haven't caught my interest and some have gotten downright nasty. Jmo. The impression of the forums being an "exclusive club" might just be from a newby reading the threads. Seems to be the same people posting a lot.

"The Changeling" with Angelina Joline. She does a pretty incredible job of acting in the movie. Worth the price. Well directed, good plot, and its based on real events.

I've actually seen duct tape used for the following.

1. Winter waterproofing for boots. (Didn't work to well but fixed the hole.)
2. Quick patch for a plumbing leak.
3. Emergency repair of ripped out crotch on one of my workers pants! (Thank god it worked!!)
4. Attenna repair for job site radios.
