RE: Stooie's NON-Political, Religeous, War Mongering Views... Singles Thread

Might help them, lol! That's ok...I'm just having fun meeting everyone! Since I started going into forums after I joined last night, I've ceased to care so much about dating, lol!

RE: Stooie's NON-Political, Religeous, War Mongering Views... Singles Thread

So far, the only boy is the one who started this thread...lol!

RE: who is disliked more....

I thought that was the "un-nameable anti-US CS user"!

RE: Stooie's NON-Political, Religeous, War Mongering Views... Singles Thread

Btw, it says that you're only allowed 3 emoticons per post...how are you getting so many more than that? New here, and curious. I've tried to follow some of the things it tells you to do, like how to bold type, and it hasn't worked, so still trying to figure some things out. sigh

RE: Somedays...

What's like fishing in a sandbox?

dunno

RE: The Last One To Post Is My King.......

Joining in the fun...but made sure it wasn't going to make me a female king, lol...

Though I'm a Leo, and it would be suitable! laugh

However, I'd rather be a Queen in my own little kingdom (queendom?), so you can have this one! Hope you find a suitable King!

thumbs up wine

RE: Apple Trees

I hope that they do! Fresh apples are always worth the climb! Our trees were very old...but still produced great apples!thumbs up

RE: Apple Trees

I've had it that way, but prefer it homogonized or so fresh that it hasn't gone that way yet. I find the taste funny...don't mind the slight buzz, though. I would rather have Mike's Hard Lemonade, though, than the Hard Cider.cheers

RE: Stooie's NON-Political, Religeous, War Mongering Views... Singles Thread

I quite agree, Stef! Even if they're small parties...sometimes, those are better!

cheers

RE: Apple Trees

I don't know what brand is sold here, haven't paid that much attention...but I do love apple cider! cheers

RE: When I say I am a Christian...............

Welcome, my fellow Pagan!

handshake

RE: "A Moment Shared"

Very beautiful poem, Bettis. daisy

RE: When I say I am a Christian...............

Btw, I do welcome those stories from all religions. It is a favorite past time of mine, so I wasn't being fascetious when I said to share away. I meant it.

RE: When I say I am a Christian...............

Sure, share away. Just don't try to convert me, please. It's a waste of time. I spent 40 years in Christian churches and never bought the story then, so not going to now. In return I promise not to try to convert you. I've heard many stories from many religions, dear. They're all the same. God works in mysterious ways and is known by many names...that's covered in the bible too.

RE: No more bears......

OK, I've been assuming guys would rather get bears than flowers...and also thought that they were a "warm and fuzzy" indicator of wanting to give a hug. I, personally, would prefer a bear or chocolates 'cuz I hate flowers...esp roses...so I thought that those were neat alternatives. Me, I'll take a teddy bear instead of a rose any day!

RE: When I say I am a Christian...............

No, not in the traditional sense. Believing in the decision made in Nicea by Constantine, that Christ was divine, is a core Christian belief of most paths within that faith.

However, it fits with the Gnostic Christians who still practice the original Christian faith today and acknowledge that the "Holy Grail" was Mary Magdalene, Christ's wife, who bore their daughter in France after his crucifixion. There is much information coming to light now about all of this after centuries of it being buried by the Catholic Church. (Btw, there are Catholic priests and nuns who are actually Pagans and practice that faith in private...something I find interesting.)

RE: When I say I am a Christian...............

See, there's the difference between a Christian and a Pagan...I don't believe that Satan exists...he was created by the Crusaders back in the 600's (no, the year is not a typo) in order to help convert the Pagans by making them believe that their gods were evil. Nobody hates me, and if any part of my life is miserable that is my own doing and I can choose to change it.

I also don't believe that anyone died to save my soul. I am responsible for all that I do and it is up to me to learn the soul lessons that I chose when I came in as a human on earth-school this time around. Those are my beliefs...and just a statement, not an argument, btw. I'm not trying to convert anyone, nor bash anyone. You have a right to your beliefs, and I have a right to mine...and that's the only "right" that I claim exists in any religion.

RE: Stooie's NON-Political, Religeous, War Mongering Views... Singles Thread

Ok, got one for you:

The Rooster

John the farmer was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young
layers (hens), called "pullets", and ten roosters, whose job it was to fertilize
the eggs.

The farmer kept records and any rooster that didn't perform went into the soup
pot and was replaced. That took an awful lot of his time, so he bought a set of
tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone so
John could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now he could sit
on the porch and fill out an efficiency report simply by listening to the bells.

The farmer's favorite rooster was old Butch, a very fine specimen he was, too
But on this particular morning John noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all!
John went to investigate. The other roosters were chasing pullets,
bells-a-ringing. The pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover.

But to Farmer John's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it
couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next
one. John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Renfrew County Fair
and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.

The result...The judges not only awarded old Butch the No Bell Piece Prize but
they awarded him the Pulletsurprise as well.

Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making: who else but a politician
could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet
by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they
weren't paying attention.

RE: do ladies like men

rolling on the floor laughing Good reply! If it's faces, shaven or trimmed...if it's what I think he's asking, all natural is my preferance. (Shaving and trimming cause that stubble issue, and I don't like stubble either.)

RE: When I say I am a Christian...............

With where you live, I totally understand. Your country is the homeland of my ancestors...at least some of them...and I agree. (Though I would still have the Colt .45, lol...protection, you know.) I also understand why you're a non-believer after seeing war for over 200 years over which Christian faith is right...Catholic vs. Protestant (and I know that's a simplification, but it is part of it).

I would love to see world peace...however, since that's not a reality because of human greed and ego, I own guns to protect my self and my home, and have served my country as a soldier.

RE: I Need a Roommate!

OK, a reply for you from a woman (and Claayer replied, btw)...sorry, I can't move there to help you, but you'd be welcome here. It's the closest...only half the state away, lol!

I understand your troubles...having a few financial difficulties of my own right now. Temporary, but there. At least you handle it with humor...I like that!

RE: When I say I am a Christian...............

I tend to agree with Fallingman...most "Christians" of my acquaintance are hypocrites...I was raised by a Catholic father and Methodist mother, have tried both...found my answers and peace as a Pagan. However, I have all of the respect in the world for those who espouse Christianity and truly live by the teachings of love that Christ taught...unfortunately, most instead live by judgment and a lack of tolerance for others who don't share their beliefs. That's speaking from my personal experience from when I was attending Christian churches. I have met exceptions, but that's what they are.

RE: Feels like

Boy, my parents live in Ossipee, NH and they haven't mentioned it being that cold...I'll have to call them tonight. Thought it was bad here 'cuz it's getting down to 50 degrees at night...this put it in perspective! And made me miss home. I grew up in NH.

RE: Be honest, "TORTURE" What would you do?

Sorry, the 's around those words are how it said to make them bold...was trying to make them stand out more.

RE: Be honest, "TORTURE" What would you do?

If you think that the media would tell you, you're wrong. It would blow their story that Bush is a bad president and that we made a mistake. The media has their own agenda...and it's NOT telling the truth. The problem is that it would strengthen the justification for the war, and that's not what the media wants.

RE: Cyber Love

Beautiful poem, but I'd prefer to find someone I can meet in person. However, it does occasionally make a nice escape, lol!

RE: Be honest, "TORTURE" What would you do?

I've got news for you, things I've heard and seen from soldiers who've been over there...the media isn't telling the truth on this one. Yes, they have found them, and are still finding them buried in the desert. Yes, that's still part of what this war is about.

"If you don't stand behind the soldiers in Iraq, feel free to stand in front of them."

RE: are all the ladies shy on this site

No, not all of us are shy...I'm certainly not!

Funny thing is, I was painfully shy in high school, and even my parents don't believe me...my friends certainly don't believe that I was ever shy either. None of them saw me in school, however...lol! Now, I'm only shy in new places where there are a lot of people that I don't know. It doesn't take me long to find someone to talk to and get more comfortable.

RE: Don't partake in thread that ups your bp

Yeah...I just learned to ignore the political ones. They get way too heated, lol! However, there aren't that many non-political ones that are very interesting so far. dunno

RE: What a woman should know about a man before they meet in person?

I think after two months of emailing/IMing you should know all that you need to know before meeting someone. If not, what in the world have you been talking about for all that time? I usually know sooner than that if I want to meet someone, then it's just logistics if there's a little distance.
