I have to say that I've only been here for a week, and I have felt very welcomed and made friends.
I have also allowed myself to be baited on political threads.... ....which I will avoid in the future b/c it's just not worth it to me. I don't like , so I'll be refraining!
I do love it here, and have found for the most part that even when disagreements get heated that most here can resolve it peacefully. There are those who just love to bait, though...and I'm learning how to deal with them as well. I find that d/t the diversity here I fit in better on here than I ever have in my life...and that's really cool.
The sun is shining, the day is warming...and I am spending time with friends today, and then again tonight. Girls' night in for movies at my place tonight!
Crot, you still amaze me! Scientific, yet such a romantic...seems like a contradiction. (Well, who am I to talk about those...I'm a bunch of walking dichotomies myself.)
I wish you the best of luck. I agree with Crotty P about going for it, and also with KMD that you need to meet several times first. There are ways to get cheaper air fares, check around online. Good luck, and keep us updated!
There are also more on the bottom. And, someone thankfully informed me, the ability to make things bold, italicized, etc...or even change the color is down at the bottom too. (You just have to highlight the word(s) first, then click on what you want to do to it/them.)
Oh, it was great! Had barstools shaped like hands! There was always a waiting line, so you had to sit at the bar first while you waited for a table. As I said, not sure if the name is correct, but it was something close to that if not. Had a guy with red hair wearing a sombrero on the cover of the menu, and a great story of his parentage. I don't know if it was true or not, but the place had whimsy and good food!
Yes. Thirty feet is less than the length of my house, and it's hard to carry a two-year-old and a box at the same time. Now, if she'd left her kid in the car while she went into Wal-Mart for an hour, that would be different. That's how children die from overheating. Not because their mother took less than 5 minutes to drop a box off a short distance from the car.
Yeah, it's time for me to think about dinner now, lol! Going to get hungry again reading all of this! But I'm enjoying it, and I've gotten some cool recipes!
Oooh...yes, I've done that! We have friends in SC, and the year we visited them and did that I broke my finger in their pool, and had to spend hours blowdrying the half-cast after we went crabbing! But, I had fun!
That, too, is his right. He has a passport to prove he's an American citizen? I have a birth certificate and a DD-214. I served in the US Army. My father served in the US Air Force. My grandfather served in the US Army during WWII, and men like him died to preserve the freedoms in this country and others.
My country might not always be right in what we do, but we believe in freedom enough to fight, and die, to preserve it around the world. I'm very proud to be an American.
And thank you...my fight wasn't with you. It was the one who wanted to say that I was brainwashed because I believe differently than he does, and talk as if he's not an American citizen. His name even implies what country he would rather be a citizen of, and the beauty of this country is that he has the freedom to return there. Or, to stay here and say the things he does. And it's those of us who've worn the uniform that give him that right.
Anyway, I've let my boiling blood cool down now. He's not worth it.
RE: so tell me
No, I've learned to live with it!Hi, Ship!
