RE: What a great speech: I don 't represent the world, I represent America

Please quote me a lie I have made!

If you took the time to actually open your eyes and look around you would see that it would have been impossible for Barack Obama to be a Muslim. But because you refuse to see the truth, it is a pointless discussion.

this is one of hundreds of sites that can show he was in fact a Christian.
President Barack Obama has declared himself a Christian. He has worshipped in Christian churches, prayed with Christian ministers, and recounted how he knelt beneath a cross and felt God's spirit.

And yet, a surprising number of Americans keep telling pollsters they believe he's a Muslim.

The Pew Research Center last week reported that 18 percent of Americans believe Obama is a Muslim, up from 11 percent in March 2009. A Time magazine poll also released last week found even more -- 24 percent -- said he was a Muslim.

Dig deeply into the polls, however, and you see the roots of misunderstanding and some revealing patterns. Americans with the strongest dislike of the Democratic president and his policies are much more likely to say Obama is a Muslim. Pollsters say people's beliefs about his religion may actually be an effort to equate him with a faith they dislike.

Brendan Nyhan, a political scientist at the University of Michigan, has found that when people are fiercely partisan, they are less likely to change their minds when presented with factually correct evidence that contradicts their views.

Calling Obama a Muslim has "become a stand in for 'I don't know who he really is,'" Nyhan said. "Part of it may just be people being down on Obama and attaching themselves to any label that is perceived as negative."

Not a Muslim; not Mohammed

PolitiFact has done extensive fact-checking on Obama's faith and has debunked false claims in chain e-mails that he attended a radical Islamic school, that his political rise mirrored a biblical tale about the Antichrist, and that he took the oath for U.S. Senate on a Koran. All three earned our lowest rating, Pants on Fire.

Our fact-checking also showed clear evidence that Obama is a Christian. According to the president's memoirs and independent biographies, Obama was not raised in any particular faith. He became a Christian when he was in his 20s while working as a community organizer in Chicago. Obama said the churches there impressed him with their commitment to social justice and the hope they gave to the poor.

Not one single shred of evidence has been found to prove he was a Muslim, only a mass of conspiracy theories all of which have been debunked.

RE: Germany suffers as a result of Merkel's decision Part 2

She was blinded by the main direction she had planned, to make Germany the richest and most powerful European country, with all the rest paying homage to her as the greatest leader.

RE: Finally, Deportation of migrants

Completely agree, but she won the people over with all her promises, and it was too late by the time they realised what the real plan was to be.
In her defence, she was a very strong and powerful leader, and has done some great things, for both Germany and Europe, but the cost of those achievements was too great and resulted in the cracks that are now making the EU fall apart.

RE: Finally, Deportation of migrants

All too little too late, but she has to do something to try and keep her job!!

RE: Germany suffers as a result of Merkel's decision Part 2

The original Common Market, that was the basis of the union within Europe, and it was working fine, until the decision to create a single currency took place, followed by a total change of direction for the common market which morphed into what is now called the EU and the disaster it has now become.

RE: What a great speech: I don 't represent the world, I represent America

You need to understand that while I don't agree with Trump or the way he is acting as President, does not mean I support or agree with the Democratic party.

The reality is that you like and support Trump and the republican party, which is fine and you have every right to do so, whereas I dislike Trump and would have supported another Republican candidate had there been one. Which is my right to do, It does not mean I must now be supporting the Democrats.

Trump lies, a few days ago he completely denied any leaks had come from the White House, now he says they were caused by Obama. This is why I dislike him, because he is false in my opinion and only says that which will make him look good or what he believes the public want to hear. I truly hope you are right with your opinion and I am wrong with mine. Time will show which of us is closer to the truth.

RE: What a great speech: I don 't represent the world, I represent America

That statement is untrue, and worse, it is wholly misleading on purpose to malign the former President.

Here are the numbers:

By January 2009, the United States had accumulated $10.6 trillion in debt. That's the net amount the country had borrowed from Washington through the Bush years.
The gross national debt now stands at $19.7 trillion. That's an increase of $9.1 trillion — not quite a doubling. So completely untrue that Obama borrowed more than all the other Presidents combined.

While the large increase in borrowing occurred "under Obama," it's an overstatement to blame Obama's actions as the sole cause of the ballooning debt, as the debt would have risen by $3 trillion because of tax and spending policies that were already in place. Plus, the Great Recession drove up spending on safety net programs, such as Medicaid and food stamps, without the president or Congress doing a thing. But was caused by the Bushes administration allowing the Banks free reign.

This is not to say that Obama had zero impact on the debt during his two terms in office. His 2009 stimulus plan and his making most of the Bush tax cuts permanent in 2012 contributed to the debt. But the 2011 Budget Control Act, which curbed government spending, helped slow the projected growth in debt.

One should also keep in mind, that Obama can't take any financial steps without Congress' approval. And Republicans controlled the House for six years of his term and the Senate for two years.

RE: What a great speech: I don 't represent the world, I represent America

Don't forget that according to the USA president, CNN only tell lies

It is now impossible to have any trust in any American media, as all the allowed reporting media is controlled by the President, the USA is fast becoming another China, with regards to Media,

If the speech was aa true broadcast and not just selected parts allowed by the President, then it was a good speech, it tells the people exactly what they wanted to hear.

It will be interesting to see how much of these words leads to actual action, action that will really benefit the citizens of the USA.

RE: Why UN is anti Israel?

What is clear is that you have no understanding of the conflict, neither do you understand or be willing to accept the truth about the history of Israel and Palestine.

For years the Israelis have put forward the two nation policy, and every time the Palestinians have rejected it.

I don't agree with Netanyahu and what he is now proposing, but can understand his motivation, you can only offer something so many times, only to have it refused, before you decide not to offer it any more.

Haggis Lives Matter too

The sound of their screams during the throws of final death as their tiny heads are ripped away from their body, at the hands of the cruel Haggis farmers, haunts be to this day: In defiance to EU regulations I planted an orchard of spaghetti trees in the south-west of England, to try and persuade people to stop eating the poor, defenceless and cute Haggis and eat fresh spaghetti instead.

I guess you missed this article, although one of many

It was carried in most USA papers, you even commented on it, not sure why you are denying any knowledge.

And yet when I gave examples, which can be verified, you don't refute them. So I rest my case, the antics taking place are not much different to those who tried to have Obama removed from office, threatening crazy allegations and even impeachment.

Selective memory is a fine asset laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

RE: Trump has a problem

Maybe you have a short memory, but I recall many who tried to unsuccessfully prove Obama was not a natural born American, and in fact are still pushing that agenda, I also recall the countless times he was accused of being a Muslim, base on nothing other than the fact his father was one, Obama attended Christian Churchs, something a true Muslim would never do, but still the lies were push and pushed.

The actual details may be different, but the semantics are exactly the same.

In your heroines words,

Google is always helpful

RE: Trump has a problem

You mean the way the republicans did when Obama was Potus, From what I see, the Democrats are doing exactly what the republicans did, only this time, because the are democrats they are termed whinging and sore losers, and are not allowed to question anything the President decides to do.

RE: Tony Blair and the one milion pound compensation to ISIS

It should be noted that Al-Harith was released in to the UK in March 2004, whereupon he was then allowed back into society, this was under the PM Tony Blair, the leader of the Labour party, the labour party under Blair and Brown remained in power until 2010. Al-Harith started legal proceedings against the British government in 2004/5, and was finally awarded a large sum of money in 2010, just after the Conservative Government had been elected to power.
While it is correct that the actual payment was made by the Tory Government, the court case had started and continued from 6 years previously. Blair and Brown having already worked out a compensation system, which then forced the hand of the newly elected Government.

RE: Tony Blair and the one milion pound compensation to ISIS

I know because I watch UK live news programs, it is very difficult for a broadcast company to falsify a live interview. I also read many UK papers, both left and right wing, the topic is a story running recently in UK broadsheets.

I also took a lot of interest in the negotiations that Blair carried out while the PM, I disagreed with his policy then and still disagree with it now. I felt that to give compensation was a mistake, The amount was agreed prior to any court cases, by Blair, in the event that a claim was made. I and many others petitioned the Government to revoke that decision, but of course Blair just went ahead and signed the paperwork.

Maybe you can use Google?

RE: Tony Blair and the one milion pound compensation to ISIS

Also interesting is that when he was questioned regarding him negotiating the actual release of al-Harith, he refused to answer the question and again turned it around to blame the following government for the payout.

A payout that he had already agreed to and had made a fixed commitment to paying, strange that he missed telling that part of the story. The guy is just unbelievable and the sooner he gets taken to court the better!!

RE: Outlaw or sanctuary cities

It may make more sense if you were to explain what a sanctuary city is, as I would doubt that many outside of the USA would know what that incurrs.

RE: It's cheaper to build the wall

One day, God was walking around his favourite country Mexico, wondering how he could help the poor and down trodden families he saw everywhere, when he noticed an elderly man teaching some children how to repair a car, he went over to the man and asked him why he was teaching them such skills as they would never be able to afford to own a car themselves.

The old man replied, I teach them so they can go to the USA and get good jobs, then they can feed their families.

God thought about this for a while and decided to reward the man for his foresight and hard work.

“I am God” he said “I would like to reward you with three wishes, so what can I do for you”?

The Old man barely had time to think before he replied, “First please make sure that all people thought our country always have food and water on their tables”

“Done” said God

“My second wish, is to complete Donald Trumps wish, can you build the strongest and highest wall all around the USA?” asked the old man

“Of course I can do that, but surely that will make life harder for you and your family, without the work you can find over the border “ replied God, somewhat puzzled by the man’s request.

“Well”, said the man, “if we all have food and water, why would we need anything from the USA?”

“Okay” said God “I will build the wall taller than the tallest mountains and stronger than the strongest element found in the earth”

“Thank you my Lord”, said the man

“You have one wish left” God told the man “did you forget?”

“Oh no, I didn’t forget “ said the man with a huge smile

“My final wish, is ……………….

to please fill up the USA with water until it flows over the walls, so that nowhere in the world will ever have a shortage of water” laugh laugh laugh

RE: It's cheaper to build the wall

Actually I have already studied the real history so no need for biased rubbish to cloud my judgment, perhaps it is you who should read the true history of the walls I mentioned.

Even the Great wall of China, build to stop the nomads from forcing their way into North China, failed.

I find it interesting that you refuse to even consider an alternative approach to the problem of illegal immigrants crossing the southern borders.

A closed mind is an empty mind!

I have lived and worked in 4 countries where there was a wall built to separate people, all left a very bad taste and all failed at some point.

RE: It's cheaper to build the wall

Perhaps Europeans have a biased view regarding segmenting countries with huge walls, we have experienced the horror of the Berlin Wall, and seen the farce that the wall in Cyprus has been, even the Romans gave up after building a wall to keep the Scots out of England as it was an abject failure.

Maybe Trump should read some history and then look for a better idea, rather than wasting such a huge sum of money that the American working public will have to pay for!
