RE: terror in london

Britain is not like some other countries where the leading parties are happy to kill in order to make a political point.

The British intelligence services have stopped many planned attacks over the last few years, but if you can do better maybe you can offer your services. laugh

Perhaps finding and stopping underground cells who are planning some sort of attack is not as easy as you believe? Especially in a country that believes people are innocent until proven guilty.

And what would happen if one of these attackers did get caught? You think he will be rushing to give lots of information about other terror groups? Again this is England, we don't torture, we won't sink to the level of those who wish to kill innocent citizens.

No, Chris, you don't get it, I don't care what or who imposed the Greek Royal family, I care even less whether Prince Philip is part Greek. German, Austrian, French even.

This thread is about Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth and what an amazing woman she is, nothing to do with her husband or any other Royals for that matter.

God Bless Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, what an amazing woman at 91.

Where did I show disrespect? The Greeks had a Royal family, they were not liked by a group who were not in the "Circle", so they were disposed of and that terrorist group's leader set himself up as the new ruler.
Now the Greek Royals were not particularly good and took a lot of money out of the country. But the recent Greek Government have been proven to be even more corrupt and have taken far more money.
Had the Greeks allowed the Royal family to continue, Greece would not be the financially destitute country it is today.

Just because you destroyed your own monarchy you now regret it, seeing as your perfect government has bankrupted your country.

The British Royal family is estimated to bring in over £2billion from Tourism

God Bless Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, what an amazing woman at 91.

Actually, I am not so sure, I think a person really needs to have lived under our monarchy, experienced the pageantry that is associated with it first hand not via TV. The Royal family is such a long-standing tradition that it is almost impossible to explain why so many support this antiquated system.

Most anti royal, have no understanding either, just assume the British Tax payer is paying for all those freeloaders, whereas those that do understand, know that the Crown Estates given by George III to the British people under the control of the British Government make huge amounts of money, far far more than the Civil List requires. Plus the monies accrued from tourism together with the jobs that creates is also easily forgotten by those who want to get rid of the Royal family.

As for Bravery, my point was that rather than evacuate from London during the war, the whole family stayed, and all did amazing work to help the common people.

If Washington DC was about to come under attack, do you really think Trump and his family (assuming they also live with him) would stay? Would he help to dig for people buried under buildings, would his wife nurse and support the bloodied and wounded, would his daughter drive an ambulance to get injured to makeshift hospitals while bombs were dropping all around?

Trump even cheated his way out of National servicerolling on the floor laughing

RE: Now In Manila

As long as they are not on Mindanao, I don't think they have too much to worry about.

Far more people die each day in Illinois USA from guns, than in the Philippines.

RE: Now In Manila

What part of the news is fake?
I spoke with my housekeeper at midday Phils time and she said it was all over the news, not a terrorist attack but an armed robbery.

MANILA (Updated) -- At least 37 people were confirmed dead and dozens were injured after a gunman stormed Resorts World Manila and torched gambling tables in the crowded area before dawn Friday, June 2, police said. National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Oscar Albayalde said the gunman, who remains unidentified, was among the fatalities. The gunman stuffed a backpack with casino chips before he fled, but he was found dead in an adjacent hotel early Friday of an apparent suicide. The 36 other bodies were recovered by firefighters from the casino area at the building's second floor, all believed to have died from suffocation caused by smoke inhalation. None of the bodies had gunshot wounds, said Albayalde. The fire started after the gunman torched the gambling tables by pouring gasoline on them. He also set on fire a luxury car parked inside the casino. Albayalde said the gunman set himself on fire then shot himself in the head. He said they suspect that the gunman was mentally disturbed. Philippine National Police Chief Ronald Dela Rosa earlier said the gunman was not a terrorist. "He would have shot all the people gambling there" if it had been terrorism, he said. "But he did not hurt anyone." Albayalde said there is no threat of terrorism in Metro Manila. Authorities suspect the gunman's motive was robbery. "It's either he lost in the casino and wanted to recoup his losses or he went totally nuts," Albayalde said. He saw no connection to the fighting in Marawi City in Mindanao. Dela Rosa said security footage showed the gunman ignoring a guard who tried to question him at the entrance to the complex. He did not hurt the guard but went straight to the gambling area, Dela Rosa said. The gunman stole gambling chips, shot TV screens and set gambling tables ablaze. It was not clear how he smuggled gasoline and an assault rifle into the crowded casino, but the assailant did not fire at people he encountered. An additional 70 people or more suffered mostly minor injuries in the stampede to escape. The only gunshot wound was a guard at the complex, who accidentally shot himself when the suspect entered the room, authorities said. (With AP/SunStar Philippines)

Why accomplishments? She is not a politician nor an industrial CEO, she is one of the world's most famous and respected statesman.

She is a solid rock, a foundation that Britain and her Commonwealth have as a link.
She brings into the country huge amounts of money, so much that it is impossible to quantify.
Her support to the people during war times and crisis has never been unwavering. Her bravery and that of her Mother, Father and sister during WWII was outstanding.

And should the British Parliament become overly corrupt, treasonous or fail the common man, she has the power to force the Government to stand down and have an election.

RE: Now In Manila

Not a terrorist attack, a robbery gone wrong.

"A gunman killed himself after bursting into a Manila casino, firing shots and setting gaming tables alight, Philippine police said, sowing panic in a country on high alert after martial law was declared in the south.

Police said earlier the man's motive was likely robbery and that the incident was not terror-related.

National police chief Ronald dela Rosa told DZMM radio the lone gunman had not aimed his assault rifle at people at the Resorts World Manila entertainment complex during the hours-long drama that began shortly after midnight (1600 GMT), and may have been trying to steal casino chips.

Around dawn, the body of the suspected gunman was found in a hotel room in the complex, which is close to Ninoy Aquino International Airport and an air force base.

Police said it appeared the suspect had killed himself after firing at armed officers searching the still-smoking building.

"He burned himself inside the hotel room 510," dela Rosa told a media conference. "He lay down on the bed, covered himself in a thick blanket and apparently doused himself in gasoline."

One security guard at the complex died after accidentally shooting himself, he said.

Officials said at least 54 people were hurt, some seriously, as they rushed to escape what at first had been feared as a militant attack.

"Don't panic, this is not a cause for alarm. We cannot attribute this to terrorism," dela Rosa said.

"We are looking into a robbery angle because he did not hurt any people and went straight to the casino chips storage room. He parked at the second floor and barged into the casino, shooting large TV screens and poured gasoline on a table setting it on fire," he said."

The message is sick, they both use Freedom of speech as the choice to publish. Yet the same people who praised C.Hebdo are now criticising Griffen, two faced indeed.

RE: New Zealand school abolishes gendered uniforms

Let's just do way with clothes altogether, think of the money savedroll eyes

You imagine a high school prom with everyone in their birthday suit, no one has to hire a Tux, or buy an expensive ball gown. After all, that way there is total gender equality.
Or everyone wears the same blue suit like in Mao's time.

Individuality is a good thing, but there is a right time and place.

RE: New Zealand school abolishes gendered uniforms

I guess it is okay for boys to dress like girls, but I hope they have a good sense of humourdoh

More ignorance regarding Chinese laws.

VPN's are not illegal, neither is using one, However, the government has stopped local companies from running VPN's from within China. But all foreign owned VPN's are available and legal.

RE: Anti Trump propaganda

Not much point in Russia risking being caught spying when Trump and his security forces are more than happy to make public highly sensitive security details and put other countries intelligence workers at risk.

RE: Another slap in the face of Trump voters

This should be a statute law in all countries, the "law of the land" should be just that and no other permitted to be used.
This is going to be a huge problem in Europe, as they have left it too late or worse encouraged other laws to be introduced, to appease the newer population.

RE: Another slap in the face of Trump voters

It's my entertainment lol. No TV or radio here, and I've read all my books, can't wait to be back in the UK in June, to stock up with books again.
