RE: Say Anything IIV

Yes can be very annoying, but in fairness, many help desks do get asked the most stupid questions lol
Like "I bought my laptop in Wales, will it work in Ireland?"
or

"My laptop is faulty!"
"Why what happened?"
"As I drive to work, the internet connection gets lost, I'm using the Maps app to get directions, the thing is useless and I want my money back!"

RE: Funding the Wall

He boasts that he is very very rich, so I guess, if the Mexicans fail to cough up, he can pay for it from his enormous wealth and tax returns.

Of course, if he stopped all the tax loopholes, there would be ample government money to pay for itlaugh laugh

RE: Site down for maintenance tomorrow, Thursday, May 4

Setting up a https site costs a lot in certification, so very very unlikely they would go back to it.
Besides, it is far more secure for login details.
Never heard it causes problems with popups, that is most likely down to the construction of the popup.

RE: Site down for maintenance tomorrow, Thursday, May 4

For those of you who understand UTC this means the site will be down from 2 pm UTC

RE: Sell Me Your Country !

Being Irish, I am guessing you like horses, so one place that you could think about is the Virginian Shenandoah National Park and the Appalachian mountains there, you can hire horses and take a few days trekking high into the mountains, where I guarantee you will see scenery like no other in the world, it is truly breathtaking, and being on horseback, just seems to make the experience even more thrilling. This part of the USA is almost impossible to describe, you really need to see for yourself.

Certainly, it is a memory etched in my mind I will never forget!

RE: Trump invites Duterte to the White House

Exactly, and Duterte is nobodies fool. which is why he has said "He doesn't have time to meet with the bigot US President". He is far too busy forging alliances with China and Russia, countries that are his neighbours and have a clearer understanding of Asian culture.

RE: Why England Keeps Digging Super Tunnels?

Can't find anything in any french newspapers supporting this, seems very strange as Macron is very supportive of the EU and needs the unity of support from Germany. He would lose that if he changed direction.

The French seem to be moving away from Macron now as he is using underhand tactics to discredit Le Pen. While she is not so popular, she has proven that she cares far more about France as a country rather than his view that France needs the EU. And that will win her votes because one true characteristic of the French is that they are emotional and love their country, these two elements are just what Le Pen is pushing.

RE: Which Trump personality You like The most

So America make all their own phones, clothing, machine parts, chemicals to name just a few, I didn't know that, whereas what do the Chinese buy from the USA?

RE: Emanuel Macon threatens to flood the UK with illegal immigrants

Not to the UK, they never signed up to itlaugh laugh

RE: Emanuel Macon threatens to flood the UK with illegal immigrants

Why? If he opens the French gates, the British will close the Tunnel, and that's that, unless they fancy swimming the channel, or cross the busiest shipping lane in the world in small boats.

I just hope the world is really taking notice of how certain EU countries are treating the UK Brexit, making it a very very painful divorce. And It will be France and Germany that will lose out in the end, because they will have to pay for the smaller less economically sound countries until they leave as well. By then the UK will no longer need France/Germany as a market place, and they will find it hard to sell into Britain.

RE: Trilogies

All depends on the author Douglas Adams' trilogies just git better and better for example, same with Spike Milligan. What about Tolkien?

RE: Macron & Le Pen Second Round

The French election will affect far more than just the French. It will have a direct affect on the UK's Brexit, and how other countries maintain their commitment to the EU.
All that will have a big influence on North America, so this election is of great importance to vast areas outside of France too.

RE: Which Trump personality You like The most

Plase refrain from modifying my posts, Thank you!
China can and do sell around the world, the USA needs China far more than China needs the USA.

RE: The trouble with America is ...

Have you ever thought, that because the USA is the world's most powerful superpower, they believe they have the right to tell the rest of the world whatever they want, and no one dares to disagree of fear of attack?

RE: Please name your suburb or post code,,,,,,,

What he said thumbs up thumbs up

RE: Why Le Pen So Anti-European?

Abso-bloody-lutely. thumbs up

I don't think many people have really been listening to Le Pen, just reading/listening to media sound bites.
She is very much a European, but is fighting the EU.
She is French first of course, but she, like many others, can see what damage the EU is causing. Stifling many countries and boosting the rich ones like Germany.

When we all agreed to join the Common Market, the idea was an excellent one, but due to greed by certain countries the goal posts got moved, and allowed the strongest to take control of the whole regions' finances.

RE: The trouble with America is ...

My pet hates are "wanna" and "gonna", but the worst is when they say " Care less" as in " I could care less if Trump becomes president" It is totally nonsensical, meaningless. How hard is it to say " I couldn't care less"
I understand they have difficulty with spelling colour, or favourite, and it takes brain power to write Travelled, but "my bad"?? WTF???rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Macron & Le Pen Second Round

You cannot compare France with the USA, they are totally different, France is a part of Europe and the EU, and that has dragged France down. There is no compassion with the USA, there is no German dictating to Trump what he can or cannot do! (Other than Trumps grandfather I guess).
Second, immigration, France, Due to EU regulations has a huge immigration problem, one that overflows into the UK among others. Again there is nothing similar in the USA, a totally different history, for example, France is over 3000 years old, the USA 300.
Chalk and cheese.

RE: Wish Me Luck!

Hi, hoping to visit KL in the summer, to see my cousin who lives there, she works for an International Language school. Happy to hear all you good newsbouquet

RE: Macron & Le Pen Second Round

RE: Wish Me Luck!

Congratulations on making that move.

I have always felt that risk taking is part of life, and changing jobs is always a risk. But the payoff is often well worth that risk.

I had a fantastic job with an internationally know computer company, flying all over the world, then was offered a job with a very prestigious car manufacturer, I took the risk, it failed. But the outcome was a change in career, which ended up giving me a far far more rewarding job. I have travelled/worked to/in countries I never dreamed of visiting and now live in a unique country and have an amazing job.

Job satisfaction is the most important I believe.

RE: Macron & Le Pen Second Round

Exactly.
Le Pen has stated clearly she won't be Merkels lapdog, and that should mean something to the French.

RE: Food and drink picture thread

Wow what a lot of fuss just to have a small cup of tea lol
They may consume a lot of tea in Turkey, apparently 4-5 cups a day, but strangely, it is hard to find figures for Chinese tea consumption, going by my own experiences, I would suggest 6-7 cups a day, and they do have a very large population lol
They drink about 4 of these flasks a day, but reusing the tea leaves, each flask is about a cup and a half.
