RE: Why Macron won

I didn't particularly like either candidate, but Le Pen at least cares deeply about France and while her extreme right wing ideology could be a problem, she would most likely have tamed it down a lot, while bringing France back under its own sovereignty. Once that was in place the French could have voted her out and returned to the usual centre (Liberal) line government.
Now they will suffer as Macron hands over all the power to Germany. It will be the end of France as it was.

RE: Why Macron won

What??? Are you getting confused between Le Pen and Macron?

Macron hates Britain, Le Pen hates the EU control the same as the UK, she would have worked with the UK to make it easier for France to exit as well, and then create a trading partnership with the UK.

Macron will be the one who sticks the knife in the back of the UK.blues

RE: Do you VACCINATE your CHILDREN?

Guess I know history better than you, Both the British and the French sent thousands of convicts to America as well as to other locations around the world. But after US independence, the British convicts were then sent to Australia.

RE: WW3, to end all wars

He likes the idea of a unified Korea, but how that can happen with all the past and present history between them to overcome and a single government installed that can work with both areas, seems highly unlikely to me.

RE: WW3, to end all wars

I asked my Korean students about that, they think the defector's families have all escaped to SK, therefore thy have no fear to discuss openly, they also said that the accents and dialects used were definitely NK.
They have heard many stories similar to those on the video, but acknowledge it could be fake, but based on real stories.
I truly don't know whether true of false, but even if half true, it still goes a long way to explaining why they hold so much hatred for the west.

RE: WW3, to end all wars

Interesting views on why there is so much hatred for America by the North Koreans.

RE: What is a "successful" relationship?

RE: Do you VACCINATE your CHILDREN?

And possibly by those who travelled to foreign countries, didn't take advice against booster shots to prevent contracting certain diseases and brought that back to the USA.

Not everything wrong is caused by globalisation!

RE: Please give this to my Daddy...

I didn't see that in January when I was there, travelled around Brum a lot and never saw false banners. London voted to stay so that would be foolish to promote.

RE: Please give this to my Daddy...

Sad indictment that a country needs to spread false sentimentality, to try and build unity and solidarity.thumbs down

RE: Emanuel Macon threatens to flood the UK with illegal immigrants

There is no true British bloodline, so most British families of several generations are related in some way to just about everyone/anyone in the world.

Hardly a reason to want to live in Britain.
Once Brexit is completed, the UK government can restrict the number of immigrants, including those with even closer ties to our royal family.

RE: Today I came here to talk about France elections...

Rather be a thin-skinned Englishman than a cowardly, German loving Frenchman with no balls to stand up to EU manipulation.

RE: Do you VACCINATE your CHILDREN?

Forgot to add.

If we can take advantage of vaccines it could save millions of lives, not to mention reduce the financial burden on worldwide hospital treatment.

"So far only one disease, smallpox, has been eradicated by vaccines, saving approximately 5 million lives annually.

Polio could be next. Over 80% of the world's children are now being immunized against the polio virus, and the annual number of cases has been cut from 400,000 in 1980 to 90,000 in the mid-1990s. If the year 2000 goal of eradicating polio is achieved, the United States will be able to save the $270 million a year that is currently spent on polio vaccination. The savings for Western European countries will amount to about $200 million a year.

Measles, currently killing 1.1 million children a year, is another possible candidate for eradication. Once high levels of routine immunization have been achieved, national immunization days, followed by close monitoring and 'blitzing' of any outbreaks, can eliminate the disease.

In all, vaccines have brought seven major human diseases under some degree of control - smallpox, diphtheria, tetanus, yellow fever, whooping cough, polio, and measles."

RE: Do you VACCINATE your CHILDREN?

You think a survey of only 666 subjects gives a true result?

It proves nothing other than the final sentence where it states "Further research involving larger, independent samples and stronger research designs is needed to verify and understand these unexpected findings in order to optimize the impact of vaccines on children’s health."

RE: Emanuel Macon threatens to flood the UK with illegal immigrants

Why would they rather be in Britain? Is a better question?

RE: Emanuel Macon threatens to flood the UK with illegal immigrants

Yep, with Germany, they will have to pay a lot extra.

Just read this in the economist; "The ministry officials calculated Berlin would have to pay an additional 4.5 billion euros (£3.8billion) a year into EU coffers as a result of Britain's departure from the bloc."

RE: Trump invites Duterte to the White House

Certain areas to the west of Mindanao are dangerous, that's for sure, but other areas are okay, in the spring I was in Davao city and had a great time, a very clean and safe city IMO, I meet some locals and they think the terrorist part is growing but they support all Duterte is doing to try and control the area.

As for the drugs, I know little about pricing etc, but think because the dealer risk their lives, they think twice without much thought to profit, 1 million Peso is not helpful if you're dead! This does not happen in western countries, the worst is a short prison term!

RE: Trump invites Duterte to the White House

My apologies, I should have said this year rather than over a year. and yes almost one year as President. May 9th 2016

Mindanao is a complex area, not least because Duterte family come from there (Moro). But they are successful inroads being made, some senior leaders have been caught/shot in recent stakeouts. The worry is that now the Terrorists are moving north, recent attacks on Bohol caused a major problem, but the Filipinos are, if nothing else, a resilient race and they will fight back.

RE: relation ship through the distance. why is so difficult

My favourite Aussie story.

Ritchie McCaw goes into the All Black changing room to find all his team mates looking a bit down. "What's up?" he asks.

"Well, we're having trouble getting motivated for this game Ritchie. We know it's important but we've just beaten Argentina
and South Africa in consecutive weeks and let's be honest it's only Australia. They're total crap and we simply can't be bothered".

Ritchie looks at them and says "Oh well, the way I've been playing recently, I reckon I can beat these Aussies by myself,
you guys go down the pub."

So Ritchie goes out to play the Wallabys by himself while the rest of the All Black Team goes off for a few jars. After a few
beers they wonder how the game is going, so they get the barman to put the telly on.

A big cheer goes up as the screen reads "New Zealand 7, (McCaw - 10 minutes - Converted Try) - Australia 0 ".

He is beating Australia all by himself!!!! Anyway, the telly goes off and a few more beers later the game is forgotten until someone
remembers "It must be full time now, let's see how Ritchie got on". They get the telly put back on.

"Result from Eden Park: New Zealand 7, (McCaw, 10 minutes) - Australia 7, (Sharpe, 79 minutes)".

They can't believe it. Ritchie has single-handedly got a draw against Australia!!

They rush back to Eden Park to congratulate him. They find him in the dressing room, still in his gear, sat with his head in his hands.
He refuses to look at them. "I've let you down guys. Sorry, but I’ve really let you down." moans Ritchie.

"Don't be an idiot; you got a draw against Australia, all by yourself. And they only scored at the very, very end!" says the rest of the team.

"No, No, I have" says Ritchie, "I've let you down…………..I hope you can forgive me but I got sent off after 12 minutes""

RE: Trump invites Duterte to the White House

There are some similarities, such as poorly educated and speaking without thinking about the consequences. But there it ends, Trump cares only about Trump and money. Duterte has proven over and over he cares deeply about his country and he has no money nor does he seek to be rich.

RE: Trump invites Duterte to the White House

It did happen, but in fairness, Duterte has jumped on those that did this, and in over a year now, not one person has been shot in this way.

Duterte has been very transparent in the way the enforcement is carried out. In Cebu city, outside the main Police HQ there is a huge boarding, listing out all those shot, arrested or handed themselves in, it is updated daily.

In the small town where my home is, the drug users have mainly disappeared, and walking around late at night has become a pleasure. I no longer have to dodge the pushers and those begging for money.

So yes, some innocent lives have been taken, but far, far, fewer than would have been taken by those killing for money or to get drugs, or those who would have died from the actual partaking in drugs.

Sometimes one has to be cruel to be kind. Dutertes tough policies are working, it is obvious when you look around, and I for one will continue to support him 100%.

RE: Do you VACCINATE your CHILDREN?

Have to agree to disagreebouquet

RE: Do you VACCINATE your CHILDREN?

My sister in law lived in a town where they decided to make MMR voluntary, because of the false rumours she didn't have her children vaccinated. at the age of 9 her daughter caught measles, and as a result became deaf. Today she is in her 30's, single and still deaf, her mother had a breakdown due to her blaming herself for not vaccinating the children, today she is a manic depressive.
This is one of the main reasons why I am so against scaremongering, especially with unproven "facts".

RE: Do you VACCINATE your CHILDREN?

This is from the National Autistic society, they should be a credible source.

"Our position - MMR vaccine
Autism can have profound effects on a person and families understandably have questions about its causes, including whether there is a link to vaccines, such as MMR.

Our position:

The National Autistic Society is clear that there is no link between autism and the MMR vaccine.

We believe that no further attention or research funding should be unnecessarily directed towards examining a link that has already been comprehensively discredited. Instead, we should be focusing our efforts on improving the lives of the 700,000 autistic people in the UK, and their families.

The evidence:

Much research has been devoted to this issue and the results have repeatedly shown there is no link. This includes a comprehensive review of all available studies on links between autism and vaccines in 2014, using data from more than 1.25 million children.

In addition, the original research linking the MMR vaccine and autism has been comprehensively discredited and the person who wrote it has been struck off the medical register. For a fuller account, please visit the BBC's website.

We still don't fully understand the exact causes of autism but research to date has shown it involves many complex and interacting factors, including genetics, the environment and the development of the brain. "

RE: Trump invites Duterte to the White House

Actually, users are offered the chance to get treatment to break the habit, the pushers?importers are the ones being targeted.
The media doesn't report that as most of the media is corrupt, they fear Duterte will imprison them as he has with other corrupt officials.
