Coffee is Love

Since the year 850 when an Ethiopian goat herder discovered the properties of the coffee bush this brew has helped to turn miserable turds into semi-human functional beings.

Coffee is an important part of my life, my coffee bar owner is my Doctor and he administers my daily doses of caffeine from 6:30am 7 days a week. I personally drink 4 or 5 cups a day, and love coffee more than anything....... well I do love women and cigarettes too.

I do have some side effects such as the odd 4 inch long eyebrow hair appearing almost instantly after the second cup, follicle anomalies are just a minor problem, and it is a cheap form of anger management too.

Is coffee important to you and is it part of the culture where you live?

I love most types of coffee!

I sometimes drink coffee. Most time, tea.

Other times, I drink both! Yes, together wink

It's called 'YinYang' or 'Cham' ( meaning mixed in Cantonese )
tru, It seems that it doesnt affect me like that (much), but it does help my tolerance levels, idiots around me are safer.
Whilst I'm a great fan of coffee however it must be said the cost is prohibitive wow even with Spain being one of cheapest places to buy it, do you realise that if you saved the money in just 75 years you could buy a new Rolls Royce, or save the polar bear from extinction or even the Brazilian rainforest, feed an entire village in Africa, or maybe mount your own moon landing professor rolling on the floor laughing
Hi DC, I suppose your Yin needs a Yang, but mixing tea with coffee will get you life in prison without parole in some countries.hug
motorcycle pointing sir bobby sir bobby sir bobby

Map, you gotta try it at least once! You might be in for a surprise wow wow wow
DC, I hear you, but I would rather cut my leg off with a blunt rusty knife and beat myself over the head with it rolling on the floor laughing
Tea is my drink, I bounce off the walls on 2 cups of coffee
I only have 1 coffee that i make before going to work. And that is only 5 in a whole week. Too much coffee is not healthy.
laugh laugh laugh

Map, you must be thanking your lucky stars that you're not with a Chinese lady or else you'd be forced to choose either your leg or drink that foul beverage a.k.a tea grin
rough daily dose coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee its okay i guess laugh
Unla, You do have my deepest sympathy, perhaps drink coffee outside to avoid bouncing off walls.

DC, Actually Tea does have a place in Society, but as long as its after 3pm and served in the finest cups with cucumber sandwiches.

Daears, Too much of anything is unhealthy, but to me it's actually medicinal.

Molly, Ive seen you groupies, Ive seen how they admire the process and clap with joy as they watch me finish multiple cups, but I do shed tears of sorrow knowing they will never enjoy the wonders of the brew themselves.

Bee, Thats the spirit, Keep it up and support the growers around the world.
I don't know what's going on medically with this, but I literally can't stop yawning til I have at least 2 cups of coffee per day, no matter what time it is. It's almost like I'm silently screaming for someone to make me some.
- Also though Ireland is definitely not a country known for it's good food, there are still loads of really really good coffee places here (in Dublin at least), which is great.
If coffee equals love, what hope is there for tea-drinkers... sigh
And how do you find Swiss coffee is it as bitter as I am led to believe '-)
I'd be afraid I'd bounce into the sea, Map uh oh

Blue, a pinch of salt takes the bitterness out of it. Yep, salt
I remember watching a programme about coffee once (yes, I am a coffee-groupie), and it said to add some real butter to coffee for the most sublime, and healthy, drink.
The butter must be from grass-fed cows and unsalted.
It lowers cholesterol and helps one to lose weight.
Notaquack, Irish food is good, and goid to hear others need coffee to keep alive.
Molly, What hope for tea drinkers...I think retraining at a special coffee camp is needed.
As for butter in coffee..the thought of such a malicious act makes me sad.
Ob..Ive no idea, but I understand Swiss coffee is sweet and warm
Nota, I definitely disagree with you about Irish food.
Having travelled quite a bit, I find the quality of food here to be extremely high.
It is natural, the meat is usually from free-range sources, the fish is amazing, the veg is not GMO, and it is all fresh and tasty.

i don't know where you eat, but maybe you should come to Cork or Kinsale to learn a bit about good food in restaurants. And yes, we have some beautiful coffee shops here too..the groupie knows
grin
Unla...stand away from the sea..simple really.
I'll do my best, Map. I have cleaning to do, so it's a good time for a mug of the stuff.

Sorry Molly but I agree with Not. Irish food isn't great
@Molly I'll split the difference and definitely concede that yep Irish ingredients are very high quality.
(Irish beef, oysters and salmon sought throughout the world for example) and that's not talking about Irish alcoholic drinks which are clearly highly sought after.

I would say however that the Irish PALATE is definitely very bland, as it is in the British Isles generally and that's why we're not at the top table cuisine-wise IMHO
Unla, we'll have to agree to differ so laugh

Nota, I cannot speak for individual palates, I just know that I like and appreciate good food (if not coffee uh oh ) grin
I drink two cups of tea a day. But I definitely order coffee when I am out, because it is more drinkable than tea even when not properly brewed.
Hi Map wave
I don't think it's part of the culture where I live. I tried once to like drinking coffee. I drank a cup every morning for 5 days. On the 5th day, I couldnt take it anymore.. made me vommit. I prefer chocolate milk or orange juice. tip hat
Hi Kal, Well at least you tried!, Chocolate and orange juice are OK and better than tea.hug
Yeah Map!
Coffee! The giver of life, the nectar of the gods, the healer of all ailments, the lifter of the spirits, the reason to wake up, the very essence of the life force of energy that stimulates and fotifies the very soul.....

Best put the kettle on then!
head banger
Hi Sands, Your employee could have died from anything, 10 cups is a bit much, Ive only had 3 today, The type I drink has a 1/3 Espresso with the rest hot milk so perhaps not as much actual coffee is consumed.
Hi Rob, The first part of your comment was brilliant, then you said the word "kettle", I assume you drink that instant stuff?

At least it has "coffee" in it...grin
Haha, no Map...filtered.
rolling on the floor laughing
Map, As a tea trader, I think I wouldn't know even if they serve me dish water.laugh doh

But I don't think even Coffee bean and tealeaf, an American chain here, serve fresh coffee as yours . sigh
Hi Gypsy, Well done you, coffee is life, coffee is love, good to see you embrace these wonderful things that do originate from that humble bean.
hug
Usha, Here its perfect, and with apologies to the Americans the coffee you are served is pretty awful, I always had a tin of Folgers to add the the coffee served there.

professor When coffee beans are ground they start to produce carbon dioxide that seriously taints the flavour, Packs of ground coffee should be kept in the deep freeze at all times and so should the beans.
Grrr. world, history !
One more, I had stopped drinking coffee for a few years until my Work wife got me into it again. After some investigating I found out that the coffee bean was very high in pesticides. So, I buy organic beans from Guatemala and use the grocery to have fresh pesticide free coffee......laugh
Not work wife.... European wife....crazy tablet
Grinder not grocery doh
Rob, Yes, I stood up when reading your comment out of respect for the bean, I sometimes wonder if old Adolf and the West had a little sit down with some coffee if WW2 would have been averted.
laugh laugh I was wondering what a work wife was, Sands.
