The only food that hasn't been affected by inflation...
Seafood and steak in some places are now double. Some vegetables are coming in around 40% higher. We all see it and we all feel it. The dollar store items are now $1.25 but the only thing I've found that hasn't gone up in price are the mini-pies at Walmart.Fifty cents for as long as I remember...

I think veggie growing will come back into the forefront i know runner beans and tomatoes for me.
Last year planted apple and pear tree but reckon it will be a few years before the fruits of my labour are ready.
My scotch fillet steak is $75 a kilo
My fresh salmon from my fresh seafood shop has gone from $39 a kilo to $45 a kilo
The rest of my shopping items have gone up to $1.50 for every single item I buy
Fruit & veg is expensive as well
I'm not annoyed by all this price hike as I do understand why this is happening.

What do we call the Holland or Dutch or European beans? Probably $15 per kg, Mushrooms likewise, old ginger nearly $40 a kilo but it is out of stock at Woolworths - oh wow, now $50!
Might look at some plants that will grow through winter here, there's a few plants that can handle the NZ winters..
