Your human-ness being deleted?

Would you care what you ate....if you could not taste or smell?

(what has caused taste and smell disappear lately?)

Would you care who you loved or had s*x with...as long as it satisfied you?

(what is going on today with the corn industry and the toy industry?)

Would you care about how you spend your free time....if you could immerse yourself at home through your electronics?

(what is going on with the tech industry today?)

Would you care about morals and ethics....if you could get away with being unethical and immoral...in other words, do whatever pleases you?

(what is going on with religion today?)

Would you be able to look at others (especially opposite s*x) with compassion...if you are being told to despise them?

(what is going on today between genders...and other divisive message we are being fed today?)

I am sure I can go on and on...

The ultimate question is...are we giving up what makes us human beings?

What do you think?

Are you noticing yourself starting to become numb?

CC....I think that is fairly good advice.

I would also throw in there...associating yourself with real people.

"The ultimate question is...are we giving up what makes us human beings?"

We will always be "humans"
It is the behaviour and brain washing that is changing.
What? Humus is being depleted or deleted?
What the heck does that mean? confused

Oh well. Have a cool fun day, Johnny beer

Robert,
Hummus is only made out of garbanzos..have fun in France.
Luke, I would say, with my observations...we as a whole society are tried to be taken down a path that accepts all these human-less behaviors and natural traits.

dunno

Friendship...

I totally agree, with a lot of what I have been seeing and hearing....you are spot on.

thumbs up

IW....I am going to breakdown your points with individual comments.

The first one about love and numbing.

I would argue, true love gives one a sensation of euphoria. I am not sure numbness would describe it.

dunno
IW...

Electronics....introducing a lifestyle of isolation...self entertainment. No longer a physical unity with others...facilitating other's loving needs...no longer contributing to basic physical needs of others around you.

....facilitating love

love involves physical nature / touch / providing for / helping others / being there (physically)

....minus that, it leads to dark and negative paths....numbness
IW....religion is guidance....for the good and positive

no religion, no guidance...for the good and positive (negative)

One becomes blinded....loses feelings (of knowing they did or are doing the right thing)....becomes numb.

And no, it's not just gas that's making me blush.
laugh
Let me find out how you escaped first.
uh oh it says quarantine on the door
Hello Ken,

Thank you for your breakdown.

I cannot disagree with your own personal assessment of your way of living...I think many today have followed your path. My suspicion is that, the path we have taken, has been laid out for us, by design.

Whether for the good of humanity, or not.

I really think, that can be extensively debated.

wave
Hello Patty, and good morning. I am having my coffee right now. :)

wave
Hello Rob,

That does make sense....the aging process does indeed play a role in the decline of our senses...and mental cognition.

In essence, losing our human qualities during our peak.

wave
Hello Robert...

That is a very good example, where we become immune to unpleasant smells as we are immersed in them for a longer duration.

The same can be said, like you mentioned, for the ways of the world...we, more and more take for granted...however, the longer we are in it, the more we overlook and become blinded to the unhealthy warning signs.

I think eventually, the unhealthy will turn into disease....and the crippling effects will not be able to be overlooked anymore.

Without getting into too much detail....I was just talking to a young woman who grew up without her father. She finally found out who her father was, and when contacting him...he didn't want anything to do with her.
Think about that for a second. Put yourself in her shoes. It devastated her...and the rest of her life will be shaped by this devastation.

Including, cutting herself.....

Nice seeing you Robert

wave
And it seems so apparent to me because I have a good memory and I seem to be a man who experiences no envy. Various people have commented on it. Memory is what tells me we are in decline, however, being equally in decline is no comfort to me. All being losers doesn't make my losing feel any less of a loss. It would really bother a lot of folks if their older brother was a self-made multimillionaire, but I am genuinely sincerely pleased for mine. I really don't understand envy but envy is what will allow our universal impoverishment.
That's how I see it.

There's a 10% of the population I think of as the nerd monks. So sure they are about climate change and what is to be done about it that they've committed themselves to a bleak future. They are quite prepared to live down regardless of anyone else.

And this group will be supported by a much larger group of useful idiots, the envious who care about looking pee-cee. Don't really care if life gets worse so long as it's not just them in the gutter. If they could ever remember not being in the gutter their memory is less than a goldfish.
And that's an ironically amusing character of the sincere far-left. Not so keen on the bible but it's the life of a monk. If communism actually works, it's the life of a monk
My advice is try to live more like a monk in the biblical
sense rather than the progressive one. You don't want to put a ban on fossil fuels it's tantamount to vandalism, but you do want to get deep and meaningless about things, be able to concentrate and I think believe in some sort of afterlife. You can't let the anxiety over this life ruin it.
grin
