Eyes to the above

Around about ten nights ago, we had an eclipse of the moon....

Anyone here know what planet crossed it's face?

There is only ever one planet crossing the face of the moon and that is of course Earth. However there is no 'scheduled' eclipse visible in Europe until October. There may have been a partial visible in Europe in May. Was it a witch on a broomstick perchance?
Is this a trick question?
The Sun casts Earth's shadow onto the Moon. The Earth must be physically between the Sun and Moon. That is, if you really believe the Earth is a globe and not flat..uh oh
Apparently no planet crossed the face of the moon, just the earth's shadow which caused a dulling of the intensity of light reflected by the moon. But this means that the earth's shadow must have been deflected. So I have no idea. dunno As the emoti says, I dunno.
We've just had a strawberry moon which shared the sky with Jupiter Mars and a part of Venus.dunno

thanks all for your thoughts and comments wine

After speaking with Mr know it all himself today ( my father) roll eyes
I now know it's impossible what I seen was not your ordinary everyday type of an eclipse.
A planet crossed the face of something orange, I stand my ground on that snooty
I trust my eyes, so no mystery... problem solved.

I also told my father I seen something else in the sky earlier that day,
again he said that too would be impossible, more likely a mirage of some sort and I'm shocked, thought such only ever existed in the movies wow

So I googled what exactly a mirage is typing
Turns out if you experience one it can be photographed yet it vanishes the closer you get to it meaning...its just an illusion is all laugh

Me thinks some people don't know the difference between possible & impossible.

May 5th ... but scarcely '10 nights ago'.
What percent of the surface was occluded? Was it a tiny fraction? Could it have been yet another 'Chinese spy balloon'
It could of been conversing
but why would the Chinese have any interest in the silly old Irish..

The orange colour I saw, it could of been a massive ray of some kind, when I seen it, twas an odd shape but what crossed in front of it, covering it was dark and pure round, which gave it the eclipse look, reasons why at first I though it was one.

I'm not loosing sleep over what ever it was...
so don't you either Fargo comfort

would of been interesting to know is all.
Well the common answer is Gia. But, bet there are tons of college kids who would have said Mars or something.frustrated doh rolling on the floor laughing What is the big deal...moon phases are like partial eclipses anyway.
It's not a big deal, but whatever it was....
seems it were for my eyes only.

We live and learn eh wine

As Wiccan I have learned to go with the flow and not puzzle about things. Just accept.bouquet
Having all the answers is not always that important ....
so the moon and its shadows are already forgotten so for you Orz bouquet
