The difference between a Human and an Animal.

Sometimes how the human race acts and reacts make me wonder if there really is a difference.

Question is, why do we still try and find a cure for diseases etc, when we cause so much death, pain and suffering on each other daily?confused
Not really. Of all animals, humans are the most inhuman. uh oh
Agreed, hence my above question. The world might become a better place once everyone starts showing their true colors. Kill or be killeduh oh

At least we would know where we stand.
Animals act according to their Instincts!
Man,the thinking Animal requires a Rational Moral Code,or anything goes!
Ah well we kill off those we don't like while trying to find ways of prolonging the lives of those we do?

But it does puzzle me that abortion is against the law in so many places that have capital punishment. Those most likely to be hanged or generally terminated tend to be the ones that were unwanted, neglected, or badly treated, children growing up to hate the world.
Cats are the only animals I can think of offhand that torment and kill for fun.
Most animals kill for a reason and usually a rational one.

Can't think that humans kill for rational reasons to be honest.sigh
a good bit of Humans rationalize, they don't reason!Small but deadly difference!
Do you think that the ' thinking animal' tends to lean more toward 'kill and conquer' or 'anything goes' ?
The Rational Moral Code seems only to apply to some nations these days. Personally I think that soon we (as in countries) are going to be offered a choice.
1) Accept UNCONDITIONAL global rule by so and so.
Or
2) Be prepared to go to war against the strongest power on earth (that's us)
This is the only logic I see floating around these days as soon Africa will (as in no choice) be forced to supply certain powerful countries with certain essential mineral like Uranium etc.
uh oh
JMOcheers
Thats one way of looking at it, and maybe the way 'they' want you to think?
I sincerely think that its more than that. Its more of ,using Christianity has proven the much better route in controlling the globe than other religions. Islam is the main problem the Globalists are facing today as the Muslims are much more radical AND take Islam FAR more seriously than any christian takes Christianity. So once they are forced to yield the next step will be implemented.
Just a conspiracy theory? Thinking logically, I doubt it.

The second part on abortion I agree with.thumbs up
wine
Watching how they 'play' a mouse or bird to death does show a certain amount of joy in the killing of their prey.
laugh
Come to think of it, I bet some folk will say that killing for power and money is quite rational, and it depends on what the stakes are.

dunno wine
Then again the war monger will always rationalize their actions with a host of seemingly good reasons that 'it' will benefit all mankind...
cheers
Animals cannot make change of a dollar. Or can they?

I understand you choose to cling to your religious persuasion and that is your right. Myself I really believe that all faith based religions are are evil. It is your right cling to your ego if you must. I don't min I read every day about the stupidity of people religions, myself I chucked Christianity out of my life a long time ago as it is without doubt a complete nonsense.
I happened to meet with the Tibetan 20,000 year old explanation an explanation that has its bases well tested using human ability to engage mind in logic and reason. Anyway this is my offering to you soldier Lukeon:
Animals have always been regarded in Buddhist thought as sentient beings. The doctrine of rebirth held that any human could be reborn as animal, and any animal could be reborn as a human.

The Four Noble Truths are the essence of Buddha’s teachings. They are:
· the truth of suffering
· the truth of the cause of suffering
· the truth of the end of suffering
· the truth of the path that leads to the end of suffering

Simply put, suffering exists; it has a cause; it has an end; and it has a cause to bring about its end. This emphasis on suffering does not mean that Buddhism dwells on a negative world view – it has a pragmatic perspective about the reality of what humanity faces. The concept of pleasure is accepted but needs to be recognized as fleeting and temporary. The pursuit of worldly happiness is unquenchable yet ultimately, only ageing, sickness, and death are certain.

What is the cycle of rebirth?
The role of karma can be seen in the Buddhist explanation of the cycle of rebirth. Buddhist cosmology suggests that there are six realms into which any being can be reborn – three fortunate realms, and three unfortunate realms.

The inhabitants of the three unfortunate realms – the animal realm, the hungry ghost realm and the hell realm – suffer untold suffering. Those who create favorable, positive karma will take rebirth in one of the fortunate realms: the realm of demigods, the realm of gods, and the realm of humans. Although the demigods and gods enjoy pleasures, they suffer unceasing jealousy and envy.

Despite all the many difficulties involved in being born a human, the human realm is considered the most fortunate realm of rebirth. This is because it is only with a human rebirth that Enlightenment can be achieved. Given the number of living things, to be born human is, to Buddhists, a precious and rare opportunity.
Humans ARE animals

Humans can move on their own and are placed in the animal kingdom. Further, humans belong to the animal phylum known as chordates because we have a backbone. The human animal has hair and milk glands, so we are placed in the class of mammals. Within the mammal class, humans are placed in the primate order.

Hi Luke,

Animals have a simplistic level; eat, crap, survive, reproduce and then die a natural death. All very straightforward.

Human nature is the most self-invented and depraved bastard with no end to its cruelty towards its fellow man etc.

It can also be the most forgiving, tolerant and loving existence force on this planet.

Which way do the world leaders choose?
the difference is defined in Art 1 of the Human Rights charter of the UN

Unfortunatly even foundation members of the charter do not recognize essential basic laws and many people in such member countries ignore them or dont know them.
Bollocks! rolling on the floor laughing
Biologically were are the same as the other mammals. They only difference is we are aware of our existence.
Animals and plants adapt to changing conditions, trying to survive according to the evolutionary principle of the "survival of the fittest" .
Because their awareness humans use their brain to adapt the surroundings to their needs.
The result can be seen every day. We believe we are the kings on this planet, religions are used as ideologies to justify our actions. After all, the god(s) have given us this planet to use according to our needs!! This reflected in the most hypocritical situations. f.i. In overexploitation and mass pollution of the planet. Or in the continuous wars all over the world.
In reality it are still our primal instincts that unknowingly control our activities! f.i.Warfare as a manner of territorial expansion, greed as a way of increasing social status,....
The saying goes "history is repeating itself" this is wrong !! It is the human being that repeats its history!!
Animals never do! They just adapt and leave everything as it goes.
The more we evolve the more it seems the real aliens on this planet are ....the "civilized" human cultures! doh
What these animals can and can't do is a mystery to me. I do however know a trick to make a $1 disappear and never to be found.
I hear what you are saying.
To me it is a matter of mutual respect and not bad mouthing anyone's beliefs or trying to gather member for teams a, b or c.
I respect your beliefs and only ask that the next person respects mine.
Simple as that.
Top comment was for Rob.
Maybe I should have used a heading thats more appropriate like : Whats the difference between Cats and Dogs. dunno
Hey Sea,
I used to live like that until I was offered money to work.
There is too many VERY rich or wealthy people on this planet and it seems they are bored with the simplistic good way of living and dying.
And its not worth the paper its written on. I kinda believe that.
I guess we should return to 'basics' then? I agree with you and put most of our problems down to multiplying like rabbits?laugh
Humans to tend to make the same mistakes over and over. Even the Nazis are now given standing ovations.frustrated
