Photographs
Photography ... there is a certain art to be found in it. I am not an artist, but I love capturing something alluring with my camera. Ideally one would hope I could capture it the first time, but sometimes I have taken multiple photos to find a decent shot. Thank goodness for the age of the digital camera.Photos remind us of a place, a time ... they return us back to an event. To many of us, they mean a great deal. For me personally, sometimes I like to sift through my files of photos and remember where I have been, particularly when I question where I am in life.
However, what I would like to do is to actually take a class, and learn to use a camera. I would like to be able to explore the world around me and capture a quintessential moment more accurately.
I find it a little frustrating that my lifestyle does not allow me to enrol in regular classes, but that is the life I have chosen. Someone mentioned to me today that YouTube is an excellent source of information for people wanting to learn to use a camera, but what happens when you need to begin with the ABCs... where does one start?
“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.”

These are things I see when I go for a walk, and I love to capture it in a photo. Now I hope you have a wonderful weekend Abagail.
Its a pitty the CS embedding process is so s#it. it always makes the photos bad quality.
You should link them from an online photo sharing site
Poor Mr Crab.
Non, I truly am illiterate with photography... Maybe I should make a concerted effort when things slow down for me a little to spend some time learning more about it.
From what I have seen Welela... you love photography as much as I do.
Not everybody can take photographs. I cannot. Never been able to snap a decent pic in my life. Maybe a shaky hand?
It certainly is an art form.
So long as you enjoy it that's most important
It's nice to see you back. Are you feeling better?
I don't particularly have a steady hand, I recall trying to take a photo of a bison within arms reach in Yellowstone Park in 2009 and I was shaking so much that the photographs were all blurred. But when I close my eyes, it's really clear in my memory.
I have to admit Non, when I type to you... I think "Anon"... which gives me an interesting picture of you in my head.
I enjoy looking at old photographs, even some of my family taken before I was born.
I took photoswhen I was travelling in NZ and Canada (haven't seen my album of travelling in Ireland in 2004 for a while ).
Other than being on a mission and taking pics when travelling I don't take enough photos, family gathering etc., we should have taken more photos on these days.
Have to take a new profile pic, but can't be bothered dragging a camera along on a night out.
For me personally, photos are more of a "rememberence" than art form. They wouldn't classify as art anyway.
I went to an Art Gallery and saw photographs as part of a section there and the quality was incredible. Clearly the author of the camera had more talent than I did. Sometimes you could not even tell they were photographs.
I put a TV in my kitchen a couple of years ago, not because I watch TV in there...but it has a memory chip that I upload photos of my trips on. When I have dinner parties or get-togethers, I have it playing like a video clip in the background... Like a moving picture frame I guess.
However i can take credit for 2 of them,
Can you guess which 2 i took.
Nice shot of the Harbour. It seems you do well as a photographer, Simmo
This is a field close by where I live, I love the yellow dandelions and the green grass.
Taken by my galaxy S3 phone to be truthful.
I would have thought the writing at the top of the Koloa pic would have given that away.
But maybe you were being polite....
You know sometimes I feel that way too
Simmo... I am nearly always polite. However, writing on a photograph doesn't take a great deal with the programs we have at our fingertips these days. I had rather hoped you weren't the one who watered the koala, and guessed it was not your photo.
Non... the bit about being alone, or being ... anon?
Nice pictures.
The profile picture of mine

Some time.
I think our blocks prevent us from communicating, but let me know if you want some travel advice etc. Killarney is nice, Co. Clare with the Burren National Park well worth a visit, too.
Z... Incredible. You have a very good eye with photography.
we can see the world through the eyes of the photographer, but also the insights of the heart;
We're in an age when people are taking pictures about everything, and sometimes of not anything…. But I agree with you… they reflect a stage, a memory, a place and we are…enjoy your photos.
This is a pic taken outside my apartment one morning last year!
I love to take photos.
Keep it up yours are pretty good!
When I had the family Christmas party at my home last year, a couple of my Uncles and brother pulled me into the kitchen to explain where some of the shots were taken. My Uncles have travelled extensively where my brother has only done so within Australia. So ... they were fascinated. For me, the TV displaying my photos is just a moving picture frame, and often I forget that it's a window to my experiences.
Bajanshay ...Do you ever lie there and make shapes from the clouds? I don't believe I will ever truly grow up at times. Thank you for sharing your photo!
Hope you are doing well.
I am doing quite well. Frustrated because I don't know how to change a washer on a tap. But otherwise well. I have called a male friend to come and help me...
You are right.
She must know it.
That's Good you
Understand.
My friend arrived, showed me the basics... told me what needs to be done and alas the leak continues for another night.
Tomorrow I will take a shovel and sing , "Heigh Ho , Heigh Ho... it's off to the Hardware Store I go...".
Well if you have a rubber then take
Plastic small bag wrap it on the tap
Then tighten the plastic on the rubber.
The leakage will be controlled.
You will enough water for your morning wash.
