England... Wales... Ireland

My travels took me to see places I truly thought I would never see... and I started the second of my tours in England. (again)

I found it harder to skim through my photos and choose less of them to share with you about this trip, so I am going to simply start with this blog and share a little of what I saw.

I was utterly fascinated with the UK/Ireland... and plan to return as soon as it's possible. Even though, the flight is one of the worst I have had to endure. good luck

Nice tongue, Mike. <SNORT!> I love whimsy. wave bouquet
Zman you know what they say an englishmans home is his castle
isnt amazing though that aquaduct is still in use same as roads that were built by them hundreds of years ago ,yet they build roads here that don't last years or even months sometimes ,make me wonder about modern building techniques wave
Abagail

And stop complaining.. just get on the plane.

wave Hi Abi, all great pics period. What catches my fancy is the third one from the top as well as the Bedroom scene of Cardiff Castle, Wales (July 16, 2013) which strangely enough reminds me of a torture chamber rolling on the floor laughing dont know why tholaugh thumbs up handshake
Great picture Abi wave
and thanks for share it in here, good to know that you had great time during your travel
Mike, often the person who remembers the names of the places I went to best is... my tourist guide. I was far too busy taking photos. grin
Bogart... I didn't paint the sheep. That's local code... or something... confused

As for complaining... YOU go and do that flight. tongue
Thank you, CailinCallaghan ... but truthfully I have an outstanding memory card that I picked up in New York last year... I can now take as many photos as I like, with very little care, because sheer numbers means some of them will be reasonable. laugh
You are welcome, Lavina. The hardest part in sharing photographs of trips is reducing it to a handful. I quite literally took thousands while I was over there. But mostly to remind myself of everything I saw.
Just think it's now the end of the tourist season in the UK, they'll be packing it all away for next year, the polystyrene stones of Stonehenge will go back into their boxes, the castles will be folded up & packed away, even the plastic sheep will be stacked like deck chairs until next year blues
Welcome back Abagail from your tour to your home land.
Hope You enjoyed your trip very well.
Thanks for sharing nice pictures.
wow wow thumbs up bouquet
laugh Oh I love your sheep, K...they are soooooooo pretty.

I had to google hurling lately to see what the sport is all about. I was trying to explain it to my brother a few nights ago... it's a remarkable sport.
rolling on the floor laughing teddybear Z, you slay me. Thank you for being so amusing... it's always nice to laugh.

It's a shame that Stonehenge has to be packed away... imagine that on a dismal winter's evening... it would look spectacular!wink
Timotie ...Thank you. I enjoyed sharing the photos. I have more that I intend to bore people with later.

It's not my homeland, I was born in Australia and I am happy to say that I am Australian... my ascendants were all from the UK.
Hi Abagail, yes they are mad about hurling here and it can take on some interesting forms. laugh Having the whole town with banners in their colours, to painted sheep or even houses. dunno

Planning on heading for a walk tomorrow with a group and I ask a friend to join - he can't make it because of the gaelic football final. dunno Hope not to be stuck in a pub tomorrow watching that. uh oh

Someone has to bring you to a match next time you're here. grin
K... I did nothing wrong, why do I have to go to the match??? laugh

I love how passionate the Irish are about anything they believe in... It's hard to explain how 'at home' I felt there.

My father told me a few days ago that he wanted to go with me in November...roll eyes That will be a "No"... I could handle three days with him, but two weeks???scold AND I don't understand why he can't just plan a trip like I did and take his WIFE.
Hi Abagail, yes the Irish are passionate about their sports and even if I don't follow hurling myself, I'm always updated about when matches are on and the results laugh I went to a few county matches myself and found it interesting enough. Brought my brother once and he loved it.

I can understand the "feeling at home part". I only planned to stay for 3 month, it's been 8 years now. dunno Although it does unfortunately change after a while, it's not only fun anymore, it's work and earning money here as well now. Well, that's life.

Leave a couple of brochures with interesting trips to Ireland at your father's place, he might get the hint. laugh

November is coming up quick, hope you'll have a great time again. hug
K, I went to Germany and although I am not sure what area you were from ... that too fascinated me. Although there is something about Ireland that captured me.

Ahhh yes, travel brochures. I don't think they will help with my father... he wants someone to make his decisions for him.

Yes, November is coming up very quick. I will go to Ireland for a couple of weeks, return to be sent to Melbourne for training for a week, then I have to plan my daughter's 21st. It's going to be a busy month. smile
Hi Abbyhandshake
Thank you for sharing great pictureswine
It seems you had a great journey at those placesyay
Have a wonderful dayteddybear
You are welcome, Francie. I really did have a wonderful time in the UK/Ireland. It's well worth visiting.
Even if November will be busy, it sounds like a month to look forward to. wine Maybe someone can give you a hand with the 21st birthday party?

I'm from Aachen, it's in the West of Germany at the Belgium and Dutch border near Cologne. It's a nice area, too, at the foothills of the Eifel mountains and parts of Ireland remind me of home.

Does your dad have a birthday coming up so that you and the wife can book him on a trip some other time? grin
Hello K,

I asked my ex husband to assist me with the party...but while he says he is willing to assist, I am not relying on that. Fortunately I organise things well, so I shouldn't have too much trouble with it.

What I regret about my trip, if I am to have a small regret is that I didn't get out to the smaller villages.

My father had a birthday a month ago. But seriously K... travelling overseas with him would be awful. I take him out for dinner , or out to places locally... I could not do a trip overseas with him. smile
