Three Little Pigs Reloaded

Red Riding Hood, now 16, packed some cookies and a flask of tea in a picnic basket and went to visit her friends, the three pigs, now also a bit older. As parents you may know what weird friends our children can acquire. She found them sitting in a straw hut. Before she could open the basket there was a knock in the door.

“Who’s that?” asked one of the pigs.
“Open the door,” shouted the big bad wolf, “or I’ll blow this hut over”.
“Try!” shouted another pig.

The wolf blew the hut over in two puffs and the four of them ran off. The wolf, now in his middle years, could not keep up and the four found a wooden shack that was erected when the last Rambo movie was filmed. They entered and bolted the door. Soon they were enjoying cookies and tea when they heard another knock on the door.

“Who’s that?” asked one of the pigs.
“Open the door,” shouted the big bad wolf, “or I’ll blow this shack over”.
“Try!” shouted another pig.

The wolf huffed and he puffed and he blew the shack over. The four ran off and once again they got away. Eventually they came to a deserted farmstead belonging to the bank after the farmer went bust; a sturdy brick building with a strong door. They went inside and bolted the door.

“Now,” said Red Riding Hood as she kicked off her boots and shed her red hood, “I’m fed-up with cookies and tea. Now I want a drink!” wine

One of the pigs found a bottle of brandy and a set of dominoes and there they sat drinking brandy and playing dominoes when the wolf knocked again.

“Who the #@*&! is that?” shouted a pig; can you imagine what pigs are like when they’re drunk? laugh
“Open the door,” shouted the big bad wolf, “or I’ll blow this house over”.
“#@*&! off man,” shouted another pig.
“He can #@*&! himself.” said the third pig while he poured another round, drink pouring “He’ll never blow this house over”

Alas, they forgot about that Santa trick and next thing the wolf came sliding down the chimney. And they scattered again. Those pig tails stood like police car aerials the way they ran, but the wolf was after Red Riding Hood who battled in the thorns without her boots.

She sat down to remove the thorns from her feet and the wolf came roaring in her face.

“Push off man,” shouted Red Riding Hood as she smacked the wolf across the face. “You’re only chasing me all the time and I’m not even in this damn story!”grin

I shared this story with you to tell it to your children and grandchildren, as – in view of the modern movies – they may find this more interesting that the original story.

Cheer up! It is Friday.applause applause

Hi Wel,
Glad you have enjoyed, I wish I could make it shorter though, but it was not possible.

Went fishing yesterday and burned my face to smitherings on the water and today it is overcast and much cooler. Even drizzled a bit during the night.

laugh A nice twist to an old story.
Well now catfoot rain water is the best thing to keep faces beautiful.grin
did you catch anything for the frying panpeace
Hi Redex
Hmm, a new view at an old story. laugh As I said to Wel, I only wish I could condense it to a quarter of the size. I'm glad that you enjoyed it.

Hi Abagail

Hmm, not quite as I heard it when my grandmother told it the first time, but it line with the times!
laugh laugh
My daughter was an art student, Cat... The stories she wrote always had an unusual twist on them. I find that interesting.

Interestingly enough though, when I was in Germany a few months ago, I heard a different version of the Pied Piper. But apparently what I was hearing was the original. Stories always seem to change a little over time.
Catfoot, I did see you were your fishing yesterday, did you get any fishes? You need to put on sun block cream to take care of your skin, even if you are a bloke!!! Enjoy your weekend.laugh
Its high time Red Riding Hood stood up for herself`

Redex,

Yes, yay in False Bay we are blessed with one of the richest fishing waters in the world. And such variety. When conditions are right, you never come home without fish. We caught the maximum that my non-commercial license permits. We were cleaning fish all afternoon.

Well done you catfoot must give you satisfaction to sit down and eat what you yourself catch.
That's what I call freshteddybear
Hi Aba,
That was the only thing that my parents ever did me wrong. I wanted to study art, but they bullied me into theology. I took me three years to put my foot down, but by that time I was hooked on electronics and went that way. At least they found that more acceptable. I would have been a lousy preacher man!laugh laugh
Ah now Catfoot electronics that is what I did for years. So when the circuit goes in your remote or pcgrin You just have to know I got my resistors wrongteddybear
Cat... My brother studied Art and my father never approved. I like to remind my father that is why my brother owns his own business now, because he is talented.

Isn't it interesting how parents base their children's decisions on their own personal ones? I like Art, wished my daughter had more rounded interests... BUT I offered to pay her way at University should she ever want to follow that avenue.
Well,
The sun is very intense when it reflects off the water. I had some stuff on, but it did not help much. But this was the first real sun I was exposed to this summer, so my skin will get used to it quick enough.

With regards to catching anything, see my reply to Redex.

By the way, it is raining now. I hope it clears up before tonight as we are planning to grill some fish a fire this evening.
Hi India,

Yes, now that is another angle I did not even consider. rolling on the floor laughing Full marks to Red Riding Hood! laugh

Red,
Even this has changed now. In those days we had to fix the boards. Today they are simply replaced. You cannot dare to solder on them because they are made of paper laminates and the tracks lift off the boards with the least heat! help

Another lost art!
sigh sigh
Abagail,
My parents simply believed that artists starve to death and those who make it, are never appreciated in their own lives. They did not understand commercial art at the time. I think my mother was too touched by Vincent van Gogh's story. rolling on the floor laughing

But it worked out OK in the end, so I'm not complaining too much.
Catfoot wow neither wonder everything just lasts 2 mins these days. I remember even mending the tracksdoh
I used to work in the com cen centre in the end inspecting and correcting boards. Helping technician set machine up. Sometimes it took 3hours to check first board off before we set everything away. I never knew what we were making just followed spec sheet.
When finished work looking inside a remote control for telly I thought blow me down I had made hundreds of those in big sheets.wow
Glad I am retired now and still learning.teddybear
Red,
I once read that we learn more in the first year of our lives that all the rest together, for everything is new. professor But I think I want to differ. I think we learn more as we get older. For everything is still new rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing That is so true catfoot I have learned more since retiringgrin More at leisure and new doors open too so still learning. I made plenty of boards for computers but now learn more about internet and the people on it.
