What Are They Hiding From?
I can understand that anybody has the right to hide his profile as he sees fit. After all, CS gives us the option to do so and there is no rule forbidding it.I’m not condemning it as wrong; it just puzzles me. This is especially so when a blogger hides his profile as it complicates the process of getting to that person’s blog if he has not blogged for a day or two.
I can think of a few reasons why a person would hide his profile when not on-line but they all seem to defy the main purpose of having a profile on a dating site.
Have a great day out there.

That is an interesting remark but can you elaborate a bit? It is a reason I did not foresee. How does it comfort you?
- we do not reply their messages
- we do not reply their flowers
- we do not respond their comments on our blogs..
They would say we hit and run.. They said we ignored.. etc. etc..
BUT..
When they saw I hide our profile, they would not be intersted to (or even couldnot) send a message or a flower or expect their comment to get responded soon. Thaaat give me some times for myself, doing other things in real life..!
To conceal from sight; prevent from being seen or discovered.
I assume if someone hides their profile they either have something to hide or are hiding from someone\something, jmo
Yes, to me it seems like the famous old ostrich foxtrot but there may be some very valid reasons for doing so. I'd like to learn about it.
Have you ever read a blog with so many comments "condemning" other blog that blocked comment?
Ok, I hear you. Let's hope we can hear the opinion of some other people who hide their profiles as well.
It seems that most people hiding their profiles prefer to communicate off the blogs. Most are complaining about bad remarks while off line. I still cannot understand it as it makes so much more sense to block comments while off line.
They won't even comment here as they cannot delete a comment on my blog when it solicits a bad response.
I'm sure you have nothing to hide from. But then I don't know if you're hiding your profile some time. I have not noticed.
That is another phenomena that I cannot understand. Why put up a blog, especially a controversial blog and the block all comments? That is when the people complain. I'm sure nobody will complain if you block comments while you are off line.
Not sure what type of response you will get, i assume from some you will be told that it is their choice and right to do whatever they please, and of course they would be correct, only it does not make sense to hide on a dating site, unless of course, they are not looking for a partner, maybe they just wish to blog.
Then you may find some honest enough to give you a "real" answer as to why they hide their profile at times.
I too am interested in reading the responses.
Maybe our friend Zman is on to something with the dictionary definition and his opinion.
Sometimes, I posted a blog addressed to a certain target(s). Kinda like a "special" message for that target ONLY. So no comment was needed..
They used to play "Knock down Ginger" (ringing on peoples doors & running away) as a child & rather miss it.
They're going away somewhere without net access, a remote island, prison etc & won't be able to respond to mail.
They're a banned member who thinks hiding away will stop the mods spotting them.
(sorry about my spelling)
It makes no sense at all to me to hide a profile to prevent comments as it does not do anything. Like you, I don't generally comment on blogs with hidden profiles as well.
Sure thing. I acknowledged their right to do so in my blog and I'm not condemning anybody for it. I'm just trying to make sense out of it.
Well, it can't be me. My profile has never been hidden.
Hmm, I cannot recall ever seeing you without a face. But then Who knows, I would not have recognized you.
I can assure you this blog has only one target and that is to satisfy my own curiosity. It is aimed at nobody but myself. And I admire your openness about the question. You are the only one so far who have stated your case in public.
Yes, that could me some of the reasons. I know about at least one banned member right now who hides his profile.
Oh, I loved to play that game when I was a child. Sheer fun.
I'm not sure if I understood your last comment rightly, but this is not a complaint at all. It does not put me at any real disadvantage if somebody hides his/her profile. I'm just trying to fathom the reasons for it.
I think the we in both her and my case refer to everybody here. We would all like to know.
Hope you have an Awesome Day Kitten, and figure this out eventually
This blog is turning out to be a nightmare. I get more hate mail than comments here.
It looks as if we're going to be left in the dark on this.
She really makes herself at home now. Look, she came near me when I was reading your blog and put a foot near your pic!! How cute!!
