you worry me

PLEASE READ AND CONTRIBUTE ON HOW YOU FEEL. IT WAS SENT TO ME BY A FRIEND AND I FIND IT VERY INTERESTING IF NOT THOUGHT PROVOKING.

A newspaper stated that some Muslim doctor is saying we are profiling him because he has been checked three times while getting on an airplane. The following is a letter from a pilot. This well- spoken man, who is a pilot with American Airlines, says what is in his heart, beautifully. This pilot hit the nail right on the head in his open letter. No name calling, no hatred, no political agenda.

YOU WORRY ME!

I've been trying to say this since 911, but you worry me. I wish you didn't. I wish when I walked down the streets of this country that I love, that your color and culture still blended with the beautiful human landscape we enjoy in this country. But you don't blend in anymore. I notice you, and it worries me.

I notice you because I can't help it anymore. People from your homelands, professing to be Muslims, have been attacking and killing my fellow citizens and our friends for more than 20 years now. I don't fully understand their grievances and hate, but I know that nothing can justify the inhumanity of their attacks.

On September 11, ARAB-MUSLIMS hijacked four jetliners in my country. They cut the throats of women in front of children and brutally stabbed to death others. They took control of those planes and crashed them into buildings, killing thousands of proud fathers, loving sons, wise grandparents, elegant daughters, best friends, favorite coaches, fearless public servants, and children's mothers.

The Palestinians celebrated, the Iraqis were overjoyed as was most of the Arab world. So, I notice you now. I don't want to be worried. I don't want to be consumed by the same rage, hate and prejudice that has destroyed the soul of these terrorists. But I need your help. As a rational American, trying to protect my country and family in an irrational and unsafe world, I must know how to tell the difference between you, and the Arab/Muslim terrorist.

How do I differentiate between the true Arab/Muslim Americans and the Arab/Muslim terrorists in our communities who are attending our schools, enjoying our parks, and living in OUR communities under the protection of OUR constitution, while they plot the next attack that will slaughter MORE of the same good neighbors and children?

The events of September 11 changed the answer.. It is not MY responsibility to determine which of you embraces our great country, with ALL of its religions, with ALL of its different citizens, with all of its faults. It is time for every Arab/Muslim in this country to determine it for me.

I want to know, I DEMAND to know and I have a right to know, whether or not you love America ..... Do you pledge allegiance to its flag? Do you proudly display it in front of your house, or on your car? Do you pray in your many daily prayers that Allah will bless this nation; that He will protect it and let it prosper? Or do you pray that Allah will destroy it in one of your Jihads? Are you thankful for the freedom that this nation affords? A freedom that was paid for by the blood of hundreds of thousands of patriots who gave their lives for this country? Are you willing to preserve this freedom by also paying the ultimate sacrifice? Do you love America?? If this is your commitment, then I need YOU to start letting ME know about it

I am pleading with you to let me know. I want you here as my brother, my neighbor, my friend, as a fellow American...... But there can be no grey areas or ambivalence regarding your allegiance, and it is up to YOU, to show ME, where YOU stand. Until then, "YOU WORRY ME!"
Very nice! cheers
Thanks for reading Capnemo.wave
Straight to the point my dear Ed. What a declaration...

So how can we change that? Is there hope?
Interesting read!
Hi lj,
I am great!...happy ??!
Sorry for the typo Shay. I am glad to know you're happy. I am trying most of the time. But like your blog, yes. However I don't sweat for whom I can't have. Although I never fall (yet) for anyone, I wish I had.
Love that is a very valid account and I do agree with you.

One the core of the Pilot's message, I gather is that, here they are living off the beautiful country of ours and yet stick up to their own secret longing of killing us all. Now that is sick and not acceptable for me.
Good question.

The vast majority of Semites will never accept Jesus Christ and neither will many non-Semitics. Jesus Christ is aware of that and he speaks on that subject in the New Testament. They will go to hell and burn. No one can make a person believe in Jesus except the Holy Spirit but the "chosen" one may not hear the Holy Spirit speaking. One just has to want to believe.
Vivian you do make sense. Writing off one's religion is not the way per my share of belief. But let me ask you this. If the teachings of one religion hurts the others just like what Ed said. What would you do then?
Wouldn't it be nice if we can simply say: OKAY LET US ALL SIT DOWN WITH OUR RELIGIONS AND DISCUSS WHAT HURTS WHO WITH OUR BELIEFS AND WAYS?

CAN WE DO THAT? THEN IT BECOMES A DIALOGUE WITH EDUCATIONAL IMPACT FOR ALL OF US?
To me, yes there are always good and bad in all of us. But we do know which is in our actions hurt the others, religion or without religion. Why don't we get started on education each other on what is good for you and good for me, too and what is bad for you and is bad for me, too and let us go from there?

let's say we don't have to blame only the extremist or the fanatics. Let us focus on the majority of all that settles for what is good for everyone?
Ed,

I'm living amidst Arab-Muslim and Arab-Christian, we live in harmony here. I was married to a Muslim, I have a half Arab-Muslim son whom my ex- and I adore and trying to raise him to be a good, loving and respectful person.

You have to live with these people, understand their culture, religion, tradition and way of life before you judge them. You'll find out that they love, respect God, their family, neighbors and nature.

They value their family, honor their mother and father, provide and take care of their children.

They live what they believe in, they don't just preach their KORAN, they live it.

I spent my teenage years in a convent school, nuns thought me everything about Christianity, I was Catechist and I still respect Christianity and live all the good things that goes with it.
shame on you.. people who talking abt hate and judge other in any cases just based on what you read on newspaper/internet and watch TV.. you show your quality a person.. thumbs down thumbs down

Follow your Heart, not RELIGIONS scold
Amor,

good, you are so very right and you Muslims have to come up with your opinion here on CS too and defend it against wrong opinions and not stay there in the shadow, because it can also bring hate into your Hearts if you can not open your hearts, when other dominate here on Blogs.

Rolf
LoveRanger,

if your last sentence means all Religions, then I can follow you,but so long that there are Religions, they have to learn to live as equal in peace.

Rolf
Lindsey,

you did not sit down and talk together, you write a very provokative Blog and an even more provokative comment to it and then you try to soft it.scold

Rolf
I don't believe in religion. They only bring trouble..History and religious books explain this in great detail.

Ever wonder why we have separation of church and state in the US.
For this very reason..it becomes a conflict of interest, and as you can see what religion in control of government can do when joined together..and its always in the wrong hands devil

Better to completely remove it, that fight over it cheers
I understand the sentiments of each side on the facts of religion.

Amor I have to step up and miss some others because you are straight up acting like everyone is hating muslims. The reality of the letter posted here reverberates. It is not from your point of view but reality speaks on the accounts of what is taking place. The muslim world has to account who is who. I am not singling you out per my opinion. In fact I have never ever demonstrated hatred towards any religion. You have on the other hand turned this into a religious blogs. Read the letter which is the subject of this blog and it is not all about hate at all.

It is justifying the procedures on how these Muslims are being profiled. Living in our country and declaring to be citizens and followers of what we believe in yet inside their hearts, their minds and in their soul, they carry a dagger that kills what this country believes in.

You are a Muslim and you don't do what is expressed on this letter then good for you. You are not the subject of this letter.
As usual, I have nothing intelligent to say but just wanna be known that I've grown up with Muslims all my life. I went to their house to eat and sleep, played in their compound and even stole rambutan, durian and manggis ( mangosteen ) from their orchard. Btw, stolen fruits always taste better/sweeter! wink

I've known so many Muslims from all walks of life. From the day I was born until now, I interact with them on a daily basis, even here on CS! grin

I don't know a lot of facts or the ongoing things/politics of the world but one thing for sure, my good Muslim friends would take me in during the time of need and I'd do the same for them, there's no doubt about it...

P.S I had the best chicken rendang in one of my good friend's house, Kak Bi of Pakistani descent. One of the most helpful person I have the fortune to encounter and loved my 2 kids to bits!
Rolf don't steer my blog on any direction that fits your motives. I haven't made any of my blogs to be personal. Stick to the message on the blog. In fact anything I say to you is not believable by you and I should have written you a private message but I don't quite have the time to explain any of my personal belief.

I have tried to formulate and direct this kind of thinking to what best serve all of us, and here you are claiming as if the Muslims are the underdogs here on CS.

There is nothing stated on here on the letter of the Pilot addressed to the concern of the Muslim profiled passenger that is not true.

Now this blog is not about me. Don't make it about myself. I am not softening it neither would I fan a fire that is totally out of nowhere.
Ading I do appreciate your participation and your contribution and all the power for you that a total balanced and understanding sprung up between you and your man. This is commendable. Exactly my direction.

If a family unit like yours have peace in spite of your being a Christian and him being a Muslim. Why can't the world achieve that?

I would be darned if I know the answer but seeking it doesn't have to be so hateful and so irrational, right?
Lindsey

I see that the Muslims are under dogs here and I'm sure that most Muslims here feel the same, but of course they have to come also more out from the shadow and show their opinion as Amore did or like Crazy explained living in a unity with two Religions.

Rolf
Lindsy, like I've stated, I'm no good when it comes to religions and politics, just not intellectual enough for both. grin help

However, I read somewhere ago that the Muslims a.k.a Muslim Chams in Cambodia were persecuted under the Khmer Rouge regime. The Rohingya, Muslim people who settle in Northern Rakhine (Arakan) were massacred by Buddhist mobs in Burma/Myanmar. There were also news where Hindu fanatics rampantly attacked Muslim villages/settlements in India. Some of these news never make it to the mainstream news, sadly. sad flower sad flower sad flower

Exactly my point, yet bashing out each other by the way she did is not right. She can make her own blog about such a hate against Muslims but this letter is not about hate at all...Or did you even read where the Pilot is coming from? It is about prevention of terrorism, and unfortunately all these acts of terrorism are committed by whom again? THAT IS RIGHT MUSLIMS. Is is the kind of Amor? Or the ex of Crazy, no. so don't make this as one.
Ading, exactly. PEACE, WHERE DO WE BEGIN? THE TRUTH IS THAT YOUR EX IS JUST LIKE ANY OF US WITH OR WITHOUT RELIGION. A VERY LOVING MAN THAT DIDN'T USE ANY OF HIS BELIEF OR RELIGION TO HURT YOU OR ANYONE WHO DOESN'T BELIEVE IN HIM..
Muslims and Christians lived in Jerusalem in a very peace before the Crusaders took over and the Crusaders that was sent there by Chatolic Church killed them all,no matter Christian or Muslim.

Rolf
MIMI, YOU ARE SO APOLOGETIC, WHEN IN FACT YOU DO MAKE A LOT OF SENSE.

Don't worry about intelligence. It is not an account of who can comment on any blog. You are to me, a very loving and very caring person that makes a lot of sense. I do feel the injury of these acts. I am sorry. Why it didn't make it to the big news? Beats me. But the truth is that we can all address these wrong doings here or on some other means. Inhumanity is not only accounted from selective sources. We can all create awareness from all points of views.

Thanks Mimi.
As I said we are now dealing with the present. I am not disclaiming all the atrocities created by Christian before the 19th century but isn't the reason here we are now making our opinions is for clarification? For awareness and find a way to seek peaceful and diplomatic progression?

Hmm.. somehow I agree. thumbs up

Read again this blog and the OP's comments VERY CAREFULLY and VERY COMPREHENSIVELY. A provocative hatred that has already been wrapped in a wonderful package is spreaded in a beautifully soft way. wink
Sorry, but that's all I can say about this blog.
Lindsey,
it is not the Pilots letter that is the very problem,it is your long own comment, that is very commanding and still you have noat want to notise the 3 Muslim that was just killed by an extremist.
I just wonder are you just prefering something here now, when you realize, that you made an mistake and hurthing even your friends.

Rolf
Kalpataru, you may read it anyway you want, the fact of the matter is that every loving and peaceful Americans need these to be addressed. In fact I believe, these are specifically directed to those who live in my country. Read the pharagraph again that I just pasted and stick to this. You Muslims from other countries, according to this pilot is not even included, as opposed to Rolf invitation for all of you to come on and stand out for your claims.
I am going to sleep and I hope all these bickering and hate mongering attitude would go away. All I want is to have an understanding as to the demand of the Pilot addressed to those for whom it concerns.

Thanks all for your read and contribution..
Christians in this Century...other than Jim Jones uh oh
aren't running around murdering everyone that don't agree with them, or even agree's with them wow

Only a sick twisted outdated Cult could do these and are doing these things...Beheadings, Stonings, ripping people apart between their vehicles, and every other torturous murderous thing goes on in this Cult...Outside of ISIS, way before and right this second. ISIS has just taken it to an open level for all to witness, what once was hidden from the world professor

All in the name of God and their Prophet scold

ALOHA SNACKBAR cheers

Excellent Comments!
You hit the nail on the head!
Bravo!!!
Vivian I believe in the letter it is specifically addressed for clarification as to the position of those who worries him including me. I feel that it is straight forward and demand just as much as anyone who is aggrieved by this unresolved conflict.

Please read the emphasis I just posted.
