Preserving Our Marine Life
We always hear of our shrinking fish reserves while fishermen complain about the ever decreasing fishing quotas, robbing them of a decent living and sending their children to bed with empty stomachs.A recent survey proved that it is not man who is raping our marine resources. It was found that the larger predators like sharks, dolphins, and seals are to be blamed for the current state of affairs. Penguins also came under fire but they were excused on grounds that they only eat the smaller fish that is not worth catching in any way.
At a special session of the UN last night, it was decided to restrict the eating habits of large marine predators. The resolution rules that the said marine animals must, with immediate effect, eat one less fish every day. In addition they will be limited to only one jellyfish per week.
It was said if humans can get along with desert on Sundays only, so can fish. This will spare the lives of billions of fish every day and cut down on the obesity of some of our predators in the ocean.
To implement this new ruling the UN will work in close co-operation with Greenpeace, the Earth Liberation Front (ELF), the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and the Coastguard. All large predators are to be weighed at least once a month to see if they shed some of their excess weight. Those not complying with the resolution will be thrown in the sea to be drowned.
Japan, Norway and Iceland offered to send their whalers to assist in the weighing process. Whale weigh stations perhaps?
When asked about it, a representative for the sharks said that they appreciate the problem and will gladly stop eating fish altogether if humans were prepared to remove the shark netting from all beaches worldwide.
May you enjoy the rest of your day.

You upload blog so quickly though I don't want to miss reading.
Shark fins, no. I have eaten shark, dried and otherwise, but I don't like it. Same with abalone. I don't like the taste.
Some of the fish fingers we buy in this country taste like shark meat and therefore I don't eat fish fingers either.
The previous blog was just a bit of fun to keep me busy, It is too cold and wet to go out.
It is easy to blog like this. I just copy and paste them from the WWW.
I'm sure they can utilize the Accessibility Options offered my Microsoft.
What do they call a shark who plays cards?
A cardshark!
I suppose that is why they call a shark trapped in a tidal pool a pool shark.
Hmm, I though so too but once again my modest nature prevented me from saying it straight out.
No truth whatsoever in that rumor. I have never played the game.
By winter solstice, of course, full dark by 4 pm until around 8.00 am.
Funny climate...
We had some sunshine today but is was cold. I think there must be snow on the mountains. I have a fire gong downstairs. I'm sitting upstairs in my playroom, almost on top of the fire. Nice and warm. I think the glass of sherry I had after supper contributed something to my inner warmth.
To think July and August will be worse. Brrrr!
And no, mine isn't. It's a bit - hmm - bijou is a nice way to put it. Okay. Small.
Hot and cold water, solar panels, daylight 18 hours in 24 (please note I did not say sun) and bulldog and marmalade cat thrown in free. Yes? No?
No thank you on account of the weather. I believe your summer out there is about what our winter is. My electricity and plumbing is fixed. The ceilings have been repaired and half the inside is painted. The pool is still empty (8 inches of rain water - sides braced to prevent cave in) still minus a filter and pump and the outside of the house needs painting. I have been offered double what I invested twice so far (different people). Won't sell yet. Maybe if I see something else I like better. .
I don't like abalone so I have never bothered with it. Crayfish is a different kettle of fish. I love it. I have been in minor trouble about it. Nothing major, though and never organized with look outs. You know, one that is undersize, or one over the limit, or perhaps a soft shell sometimes. Pay the fine and get done with it. Have not been diving for a few years, using nets now.
