Walking Backwards

Walking backwards is the new trend in health & fitness; it’s excellent to hone your spatial awareness skills as it increases what you would have seen walking forwards by 50%, and is also known to increase the Wi-Fi signals in doughnuts.

Dr. Whet Faartz from the Irish Institute of Science has conducted studies that confirm walking backwards improves human skills such as finger pointing and clapping as well as helping those who are vowel deficient to be able to count to potato a lot easier.

Dr.Faartz also stated that Darwin would be proud of our step forward in evolution and that walking backwards properly will make a happier society, create world peace and reduce famine a little.

If you are an Emu or Kangaroo do not attempt to walk backwards as you cannot and will fall and possibly injure yourself.

Do you walk backwards and if so what benefits have you seen?

Since when do you read Irish studies? I do things the other way around but never really walked backwards. Bit promise that once you try it I will.
I try to walk backwards as quickly as possible to keep pace with my receding hairline.
Ish,The Irish one was free, Let me know how you get on walking backwards.

DC, Thats a great video, thanks for sharing it.
Nota, Thats something I had not thought of, I need to try that and see if it helps.cheers
Crickey. My spatial awareness must be mindblowing. Carrying things backwards up an down stairs an across rough ground backwards and vertical ladders backwards etc etc. I not met many whom happy walking backwards. And carring big heavey objects. Crickey i think. I'd rather walk backwards seeing where I'm going than guessing where and what ya walking cause there's something blocking ya view whilst carrying whilst walkin forwards.
daears, That was a lot of words, I read them backwards and they still made sense.

Did you know that if you turn a ladder upside down you can climb down things...and thats actually backwards.cheers
Nothing like a bit of reverse psycology map lol. I always said that i walked backwards to wind myself up lol lol lol
If you walk backwards will your past catch up with you?

Or will you vanish into your own black hole and appear in a new dimension
wow

I feel a Cosmic shift on a galactic scale building
OB, Ive had a look and yes your past can catch up with you but you would need to walk backwards at the speed of light probably, any shifts in the space/time continuum would be random.
Get a strobe light blue lol you'd be walkin in da moon in a flash lol lol
OB, as long as you dont walk backwards into long pointy things, I suggest sunglasses with little tiny wing mirrors.

Warning objects may seem closer than they are frustrated
OB, That's exactly what I need, I assume the reflection is for marketing purposes.
That's a meatloaf song Blue objects in the mirror closer than they are lol lol
daears, the same thing is written on my wing mirrors and is of little benefit as I still scream at the people behind me, unless Im going in reverse I then shout at those in front of me.
Lol lol lol funny as map man lol lol lol lol
I will definitely try it Map. Something new I´ve learned today. thumbs up

I have been practising doing things with my left hand for some time now, which is good for the brain, apparently.

Also, if you´re right handed, it might come handy to be able to do things with the left hand in case you break the right one?
daears, Laughing is crying in reverse!

Daniela, Try walking backwards and just using your left hand and tell us of any benefits you encounter or if you fall over.
I've only just mastered the awkward art of forward walking. And can still not do it gracefully in stilettos.

Now you want me to walk backwards...hmmmm

If I thought it'd help with spatial awareness I would consider it. But I think I would need a beeping reverse sensor, for the sake of the general public.
Derrière viewing doesn't overly bother me, because, well, I can't see it so no embarrassment involved laugh
I'm off for a spa treatment now

Oh how I love the high life smitten
Map,

my son and I walk backward from time to time whenever we go for a walk...fun when we racelaugh
Crazy, Thats great and a fun activity, no problems when walking backwards?
They should include backwards three-legged races to school sports days...For teachers
Molly, That's certainly forward thinking, when kids go back to school they can look forward to their teachers looking like eejits doing the three legged walk backwards.
Map, no problem at all...I love dancing and physically active, walking backwards is just a piece of cake...I can do sideward too, any benefits for that?laugh
Crazy, You are an all rounder, I would think very flexible in every direction.
I tried walking the dog backwards but it worried her, she's a simple soul.

I can count to potato already anyway snooty

Nice pic Map thumbs up
My brain is still slightly bent by that video of DC's help VERY well done
Walking backwards makes getting up a hill a lot easier. It is basically walking down hill in reverse.
ek, Yes it does, you know the ways of the backwards walker.
Map, one of my dogs is great for walking backwards, and the other will stand on its own poo.
So that is the end of those theories grin
Apologies accepted, on behalf of the entire dog-owning community of the world grin
I don't do health and fitness, I only do DIY at the moment. dunno
the best method for escaping a person that has you trapped in a one-sided conversation is to walk backwards, slowly. you will disappear before they notice you are shrinking into thin air.
