Solitude

The world is a dark and selfish place, Society creates unrealistic demands on us and these drive us to become pro-solitude.

Society tells us who we are and how we should live, but solitude shows us who we are and who we want to be. We like being alone but not lonely, we can think for ourselves and be ourselves without being judged on our race, religion or education.

Ellen Burstyn said “What a lovely surprise to discover how unlonely being alone can be”
I think the vast majority of people here on CS and the blogs are pro-solitude but never lonely here.

What do you think?

PS Cows don’t feel pain when you milk them.

I have to go to the bathroom, so for now thats got to be my main priority. Worry about the other stuff after.
I am kind of tired this morning, so I don't know if I am even answering your question help

Humans are not naturally solitary creatures, they are social beings.

People are living more solitary lives now, often due to social media. They do not interact with real human beings as much as they do to shadowy people across the globe.

I think this is ultimately destructive for both the individual and society as a whole.

The world is not that dark and selfish - each person can make it brighter and less selfish.

A smile to a stranger a day will help both you and the stranger.
Pat, Thats a definite place where solitude is best.
Coffee is the answer to everything professor
Morning tired Molly..

Yes Humans are by design social, The point I am trying to make is that society is broken, the society that makes us smile and interact with each other is breaking down, causes?...Political, Economic and probably the overuse and reliance on social media, why interact in person when you can just send messages or tell the world what you ate last night via Facebook.
Map, that is a choice.

I choose not to be broken, therefore society isn't broken.
Seri, would you like a coffee for that little brain? coffee

PS. We know it is not you who have the little brain wink
Seri, for some of us yes, coffee is the answer, In my case I go out to a coffee bar, chat and interact with fellow humans while sipping life giving coffee.

But after a while the subject of tractors and olives gets boring and I cant wait to go home to my safe place of solitude and interact via cyberspace.
Molly, I understand that perfectly, Its up to each individual to decide what the think about society and themselves.
Seri, I think you will do just fine head banger
sounds fine seri. Do you own a pub?
Molly reunion hug

I have stopped smiling at strangers coz they always end up following me home uh oh uh oh uh oh
Hello Seri applause bouquet

Hello Pat wave
Lonely it is more and more and more often,
And happy it is less and less often.
It is less than feelings that big, real,
It is more than those that are false and cut.
Pssstttt Map! My cat is potty-trained wink grin

Ummka, Perhaps its becoming more of a life choice, People are less likely to feel hurt, but its not the answer, a balance of solitude and social interaction with real people is needed.
Mimi, I'm a man-lover too wink

Maybe I should carry man-treats in my pocket instead of dog-treats grin
Hello beautiful DChug

Map,
blushing
Molly, if you carried some Irish cheese (with a sweet note)in your pocket I shall guarantee a long line of stray men, I will be the one at the front with a packet of biscuits.
I LIKE solitude and meditaion
Its a way to let the noise settle
And see what is insidepeace
Ummka, Very poetic, thanks for sharing with us.

Fly, Its the only way to remove the noise!cheers
Being a social creature, I had to teach myself to enjoy my own company. Now I crave it at times.

Still, I think it depends on the people you surround yourself with. It is a very selfish world we live in but find the beautiful people and socialising is wonderful
Hi Unla, Yes as we get older we do crave our own company, and I do agree that being social in the real world is a must.
Some people are very selfish and use other people for there own benefit,

it is a sad thing to see when that happen..........................
Joa, Yes, its part of life from Business to personal, it will always happen.
Bb in error Mr.Ob inferred
How about the pointer sisters
rolling on the floor laughing
I guess I'm running around 250 grams of moob these days each side, but its not all flab, maybe half.
Seri, We all do, moobs are useless
I was thinking more like implants.
Pat, the eskimos have many words for snow

It is the Irish have many words for rain

We are the experts in rain
I have never spent that long totally alone

But then, we don't have wild pigs or snakes here
Mm. R u referring to milking lactating women as well ?
Lets face it, milks a dollar a litre to buy. If your missus is lactating, thats awesome but it wont solve your milk problems. Simply because to get the right qualities in the milk you'd have to feed her a steak and a salad, costing about $20 and she may produce a meagre few hundred mills. Then there's the nagging. Much easier to just buy the bloody stuff.
Walkabout? sheesh I'm not black.
A soft natured male --> Impossible !!!
